The disappointment of losing in this weird pandemic qualifying round has quickly dissipated and has been replaced with we’re due for a number 1 draft pick.

  • The Goldeyes will definitely not make the CFL playoffs.

Jets looked tired already. 4th line getting some minutes. Perrault showed up.

That pp gave Cgy tonnes of momentum.  We're looking tired.  And explain to me how that hit on kconn is not a hit from behind?

For a second there I thought there were too many flames on the ice

Refs haven't called nearly as many penalties tonight as they have the previous 3

Maybe they read the TSN article

well at least Helle kept the puck out for the whole period, it would be nice if the Jets would show some effort they have 20 game minutes to extend the season by one game.

Well here's hoping we saved it all up for the 3rd :D

Bieksa analysis nailed it on the head.   Nobody is stepping up and hitting.

And Freidman is already resigned that the Jets are done.

I've never thought it before, but the Jets really miss Byfuglien. That lumbering oaf Lucic wouldn't be running around like a hero if Buff was there to keep the peace.

I have not watched any of these games but pre covid the Jets were playing really soft.  Completely night and day different from previously when they were slamming guys around and physically beating teams down and capitalizing on our speed.

What a weak call on Kulikov... Jets need a pp and will not do anything on the pk.

Pull goalie 3-0

Pull goalie 4-0

You know it's bad when even Stuart Smalley says they're not good enough.

I decided to sit this game out. I'm glad I did. They were Charmin' soft even with Scheifle & Laine in the lineup. This is Chevy's team. I'm sure he'll get an extension.

Well it's hard to blame the guy when Buff walks out and Trouba demands out,  team gets riddled with injuries to key players.  You can't expect the guy to create miracles.

No team can lose the likes of Trouba, Myers, and Chiarot at the same time and with the uncertainty and loss of Byfuglien, then carry on the season with not-quite-ready-for-prime-time players. Wasn’t going to happen this year.

He looked terrible on the second goal. It looked like Hellebuyck mentally checked out of period one. Shore shouldn't be in that position, a defenseman should cover the net not the center.

How did he look "terrible" on it? Bennett was left alone in front and he potted the goal. If you're going to crap on him out for checking out, at least do the same for the other five players on that second goal. They all stopped playing despite there being a couple of seconds left on the clock.

I agree on Shore, whose defensive zone play is mediocre at best, but he didn't even try to tie up Dube who got two whacks at the puck before scoring.

So what are the realistic moves for next season?

So we're in the Lafreniere sweepstakes early.....the only thing is this club needs more than a top pic to right the ship....Total rebuild and a few years in the hinterland looks like this teams future....Sad..when you think it wasn't  too long ago we were a top dog...Big changes on the way and maybe we start with Chevy

So what did we learn? STL averaged 6.4" winning the cup. WPG entered season as smallest D.

Old beef....Myers, Chiarot, Tanev were UFA's and Chevy said not worried. I'll sign them in off season. Not even a bag of pucks. Not to mention throwing away the first 2019 pick trying to win cup at a time when we played .500 hockey.

Bigger, faster, grittier. It's trending in one direction and Chevy looked other way.

I can't believe Jets fans still wanted these guys at those prices. This has to be the worst Jets' fan take over the past couple of years.

I hated Myers and did not miss him that much but he was worth something at the deadline.

The Jets are not in a complete rebuild. The have one of the top 3 goalies in the league, elite Top 6 talent on the wings and a point per Game Center all under the age of 27 (except for the Captain). They have Buff’s ( and possibly Little’s) cap space and they now have a shot at the #1 pick.   They also have some quality prospects on the back end coming in Samberg and Heinola plus Niku might make a nice adder in a trade.

They  legitimately need a 2C and a top 4 defender (with some size) and can use the cap space and perhaps the depth on W to address. If they happen to win the lottery, landing Lafreniere (you either trade the pick or move another LW to bolster the roster) enhances that.

While they are not a legit cup contender today, there are still too many quality pieces for a complete rebuild.   Moving one of the wingers might shakeup the chemistry too.
