Manitoba has gone from under 10 cases to over 400, since opening up.

#perspective

It was reported today that Alberta had 402 new cases since Saturday. The Alberta government has removed the requirement for social distancing in schools as of today. Schools reopen tomorrow. One elementary school in Calgary has reported a Covid outbreak today. The Principal, Vice Principal & Secretary may have come in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid. They have to quarantine for 14 days. Neither the Calgary Board of Education, Alberta Department of Education or Alberta Health Services are closing the school & it will stay open. Another principal is being sent to the school while the other one quarantines.

Our Premier & his damned government is bound & determined to open schools on their terms & aren't listening to anyone. They know best & people may die.

Just wanted to clarify -- we had relatively high case  numbers over the weekend, but HUGE test numbers. Our positivity rate wasn't that bad. We had 109 cases Sunday/Monday based on +12,000 tests. The "big" number of 185 Sat-Sun was based on +11,000 tests. So yes, I agree, in theory, that Jason Kenney is a lunatic who's dooming us all to hell, but in terms of pure COVID data, this weekend wasn't that bad.

Two schools (one in Calgary & one in Okotoks) with Covid outbreaks before school even started.

Some choice we had. Flaming socialists or flaming social conservatives. No real choice in the middle.

Except Rachel notley governed pretty much in the centre. No you and your kind ****** us all by knowingly giving a huge mandate to an ideologue like Jason Kenney and the Wild Rose crazies.

She kept saying she was for the oil patch yet there she was marching in anti oil demonstrations before she became Premier. She hired anti oil activist Tzeprah Berman to advise the provincial energy department. She appointed anti oil activists on the Alberta Energy Regulator. Notley was friendly with Greenpeace activists & then go out & pay $2 billion dollars for rail cars to move oil. She  would say one thing then do the opposite so how were we supposed to judge who was better or  worse? Maybe if she governed with some kind of consistency & didn't send out mixed messages she'd still be in power. Her stupidity helped with her downfall as well.

No she governed consistently, stupid people just believed that she was responsible for the problems that existed before she became premier. Look i dont care overly much for most ndp, and I never voted ndp. But they were infinitely better than kenney who was always going to be the same shitty premier he is now. You talk about notleys history yet totally gross over the fact that kenney has been a **** weasel is entire life.

Alberta was better off with her in charge and the mess you UCP voters gave us will take decades to clean up. I will never let that go.

Number in hospital keeps rising, those are ones that worry me

From what I understand any resident of a PCH or other long term care facility that tests positive is immediately moved to hospital to prevent spread. This isn't a true indication of how much care they need while there. Truly a proactive step to prevent the outbreaks from growing.

That one ICU been there long time.

Is there data to suggest it has been the same person? I don't think they report details on individual cases, many have been in ICU for short stints and then back to a care ward.

Received news this morning that a friend from Iowa's wife was admitted to hospital this morning and is receiving O2 and IV fluids due to Covid. She's a nurse in a private DR's office, sounds like a positive patient came in last week and now most of the office including the DR are now positive.
