Covid-19

I'm starting this thread as a side discussion of all things Corona Virus related. I understand that this is going to be discussed in almost all other topic threads but we could collect news and other items here.

At work, many conferences have been cancelled.

NBA - Suspended.

NHL - About to be suspended.

NCAA March Madness - Playing - no crowd.

Political Rallies have been cancelled.

Travel bans.

Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks tested positive. They're in Australia where testing is available. If they were in the US, they wouldn't have been tested.

I got my 2nd shot after 6 weeks... looked up a bunch of studies and it was hard to decypher it all.  What I got from it was 8-12 weeks got you a more effective immediate result, but 4 weeks looked like better long term efficacy.  I decided to split the difference and got the 2nd dose right away to be more protected ASAP.

Yeah, everything I've read about Pfizer says 28 days between doses is recommended, and I'm just shy of 8 weeks, so I figure I'm more than good...

I know people who got their first dose yesterday - the nurses said 21 days.

It's not a plan. It's a vague series of milestones that we would have hit anyhow.

I’m not sure we will ever hit the 80/75 target. Sad to think there are over 200 000 whackadoos  that won’t get the shot but I am beginning to wonder…

The good news is 4300 first dose appointments were made the day the Lotto Vax was announced.

Workers at the supercentre in Selkirk say they are currently vaccinating mostly second shot.

Sadly this was not mentioned today yet.

We need something like 130000 additional first doses to be done. I’m not sure there are that many on the fence to be swayed to do the right thing.

Some personal good news, I have a funky new QR code on my phone and after some allergy issues my wife has been cleared for her second dose.

Surprised the Pal does not offer chance to eliminate covid fine if person gets a shot.

at this rate I won't get to book my second shot til the 19th

I think appointments are currently full until mid-July in Winnipeg, anyhow. Perhaps if we get a few more guaranteed deliveries, they may open more spots.

So close, need them to open up May 10th. Want to get my second shot so I can go to IGF. Plus I need that 5G upgrade because right now the hookup from the first shot is spotty.

Ready to go on the 7th of next month, looking forward to get all the sports analytics that I don't understand straight into my cranium.

May be an unpopular take but if you are not medically exempt from getting the vaccine and you chose not to and require the service of an icu you should be charged an appropriate fee for the service of trying to keep your stupid ass alive.

Not an unpopular take but that's not how universal healthcare works. No one can be denied. Those dickheads know that & are now crowding our ICU's across the country with Covid but saying it's something else.
