Two things wrong, if it happens: You don't let a legend like that go out without a proper goodbye, and you need to have some kind of back up content in place for that time. There's only so much "insider" yammering that you can do...

    Allows for performance bonuses, which charge against the AAV (and cap if earned).  $925K max on salary PLUS signing bonus.  Performance bonuses can take it above.

    Yep, their contracts are fairly similar so the Oilers don't really gain anything financially.  The NMC & on the ice is where they'll see the benefit of this trade.

    I've really disliked Lucic for a long time (going back to his Boston days) so the fact he's no longer wearing an Oilers jersey is a win all day long for me.

    I really hoped for a financial win...that's all I'd get out of this. Neal is toast...might even be worse than Looch at this point. But, if they can at least buy him out, that'd be something. 

    Calgary got hosed on that deal... Way more upside for the Oilers.
