No Thanks.

Other than if its a cap issue that we have no way around, why on earth would we give up a unique player like Myers. Yes he at times can be scary with the puck but his pros greatly outweigh his cons

I put him into the same category with as Buff with unique skill sets of his own. Why give that to another team.

We are a better team with him in the lineup.

It will come down to whether he will re-sign here.  In all likelihood Jets wont trade him at the deadline because they'd rather have a "rental" for the playoffs.  If you know he wont be here after next season, its worth listening to offers.  Jake is a UFA at the same time, so that aspect is a wash.

Fair point, just hope we find a way to retain him for the next 4 or 5 years.

Just play Myers with Buff. Why wouldn't he sign here? His family and himself have been treated with 100 percent respect. Jets went above and beyond for his family a while back. Those things matter.

People might not want to hear it or even like it.. But.. If im moving a d man for cap purposes theres a soon to be 33 or so year old D man making 7.6 million who isnt getting younger who would return a monster haul. A "big" one to say the least.

Well, there are many reasons any player might not sign here.  I would think he'd want to as well, but if he doesnt like his ice time, doesnt like playing off-side, wants to maximize his money (which he wont do here).

Hes not a 1 RHD tho so.. Hes likely a 2..

Trouba. Myers. Poolman.

If that's your right side.. Its good enough. Plus major cap savings.

Trouba deoending on length.. 6.5 to 8.

6x6.5 7x 7 8x 8 type of contract.

Myers likely comes in around 5.5 ish long term.. Maybe even 5.

Poolman just over 1.

Solid D group.

Nobody is gonna give Myers more than that.. Hes just not good enough defensively. Hes an Offensive D. 5.5 is probably fair.

Cap savings without Buff and those 3 instead plus moving Perreault likely means Laine Connor Wheeler all can be extended either now or next off season

Sure, but they wont trade Buff after just signing him to that extension.

you know seeing how idiotically the Isles fans are acting, I really do dread the day when Laine, Ehlers or Schief signs elsewhere

Well, aren't you a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. Why would you even post such nonsense?  Why do you think the Jets are shedding contracts & didn't sign Stasny??

Gardiner has no place on the Jets right now...

Morrissey-Trouba should be our number 1 pairing for a long time

Niku-Buff

Kulikov-Myers

Chiarot-Morrow

Poolman

I wouldn't mess with any of that until we know that Niku can play and Kulikov is healthy...  Poolman has already shown he can play both side, Chiarot is 'decent' with Buff...

These three way money hiding deals will become a big problem in the NHL...  you'll end up with teams who's owners 'spend' to the cap floor on paper but spend half of it in real dollars - bargain basement teams that still make cash

I can't even envision this three-way deal TB-NYR-OTT
