Round 2 - Game 3: Predators @ Jets

1516JETS017_MTSCentre-VS-Graphics_620x33

Tuesday, CBC, SN  at 7:00 p.m.

Tagline: "Country Music Hall of Fame at Human Rights Museum"

Storyline: Jets return to the "White House" with home advantage now in their grasp in a series that is starting to look as skilled and as nasty as advertised.

Celebrity Quote: “Life is like a ten speed bicycle. Most of us have gears we never use." Peanuts creator, and Minnesota born-hockey fan Charles M. Schultz

Quote #2: “Never let your head hang down. Never give up and sit down and grieve. Find another way." Baseball pitcher Satchel Paige.

Recycled fun fact: Connor Hellebuyck is 7-0-1 with 2 shutouts and a .949 save percentage in the next game played after giving up 5 or more goals.

Fun fact #2: Sunday's game was the longest game ever played in Winnipeg Jets history, either 1.0 or the Atlanta days.

Anyone hear the comments he made after the game?  Implying he gets calls others don’t.  Totally delusional.  Dude should have at least a half dozen penalties in this series.

no way you drop the Stastny line to third. they are generating numerous chances just not finishing. it will come, look for a break out game from that line tomorrow.

Find a way to keep Stastny

I was going to post the exact same thing.  I know Roslovic is the plan moving forward... but I'd really like for them to somehow keep Stastny for a few more years.

I think we’d all be on board with that.  It sounds like he likes it here... He was already buddies with Wheels and apparently him and Scheifele are tight now too.

Have to agree about Stastny, in the end lives an loves St. Louis and it will be his call, but if this team makes it to the Stanley Cup final and the upside why wouldn't you want to play here.

Stas had made lots of money. I wouldnt go long term.. 2 years tho.. Id do that. Not sure if Stas would. Does he want to win or go play for a bottom feeder

You don't think a fringe team like Florida wouldn't offer him a 4 year deal for 6  - 7 million per year?

There's a good video of a Predator forward turtling when Buff is about to arrive at the same spot.

Not sure, maybe Arvidson. He's carrying the puck, looks over sees Buff coming, then the Predator player dumps the puck, and just drops to the ice leaning wayyyyyy back .

Very inspiring I'm sure for the teammates. Hope to see Buff hand out one of those bodychecks to number 76 Nashville.

This is hilarious if  you haven't seen it, Subban drama at 120 or so.

If Stastny's plan was to go back to the Blues, they're a good team too, almost made the playoffs without him.

But, if he likes Winnipeg, you can't get much better and for a player of his skill but also his age, feeding Laine all season might be really attractive.

I'd assume Stastny will be gone mainly because Chevy wouldn't hand the guy a long term contract meanwhile a desperate team would...

Chevy's negotiated long term deals with a handful of our guys.

If done intelligently and, obviously, within the salary cap, 'handing out' long-term deals doesn't necessarily imply desperation.

Very proud to be a Winnipeg Jets fan today... a team that never whines about the officiating or uses excuses...

Those tripping calls on us in the first were super lame... then Subban gets away with crosschecking and holding all series... then cries when the ref literally HAS to make a call because its 2' away from him.

So glad guys like him and Kane are not a part of this team.

Put him on the big screen when he's constantly barking at the refs at everything under the sun and chant:

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavoooooooooooooooleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttt

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavoooooooooooooooleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttt

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavoooooooooooooooleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttt

Let's make it hard for him to think for game four.

I'm not suggesting we're completely innocent of what he and some of his players do but I don't care.

I hate the sea of pee.

We are Winnipeg.

Watching the post-game interviews and all the preds could do is complain about the refs.... watch all those penalties from the third period again and tell me which one wasn't an obvious penalty?... Pekka Rinne called his slashing penalty "a little tap on the back".... really?? you did a full 360 degree spin and got your entire body into slashing Lowry on that play... Meanwhile, Laviolette showed all class and despite being noticeably pissed off he accepted defeat and said he team needs to be more disciplined... the team should learn from him...
