Round 1: Game 5 vs. Wild

Minnesota-Wild-Vs-Winnipeg-Jets.jpg

Jets lead the series 3-1.

SN 6:30 pm start time

Tagline: "Land of 10,000 lakes @ Land of 100,000 lakes"

Storyline: Jets come home to try and wrap up their first ever series victory in 2.0 history, without Josh Morrissey in the lineup, but possibly with Tyler Myers back again. Minnesota tries to stay alive with $196 million up in the press box (Suter and Parise for the uninformed).

Quote: “No one has a problem with the first mile of a journey. Even an infant could do fine for a while. But it isn't the start that matters. It's the finish line.”
― Julien SmithThe Flinch

Quote #2: "Well that was fun. Winnipeg fans seem to have made an impression! The difference is I've never had to ask you to join me. You sing loud and proud every time!" - Stacey Nattress on twitter, in response to the Minnesota anthem singer imploring fans to sing along "so they can hear us in Winnipeg".

Fun fact: After Tuesday night, Connor Hellebuyck is now7-0-1 with 2 shutouts and a .949 save percentage in the next game played after giving up 5 or more goals.

Fun fact #2: Hellebuyck's Vezina nomination is the third NHL award nomination for a Jet since the club re-located to Winnipeg (along with Laine's rookie nomination and Andrew Ladd's "Mark Messier leadership" nom) and only the second Jet goalie ever to be a finalist for the Vezina (Bob Essensa was the first in 1991-92 - he finished 3rd behind Patrick Roy and Kirk McLean)

Man, I sort of feel sorry for those Thrashers fans who are watching the Jets and wondering what might have been. This has to be rough on all 10 of them.

Thrashers drafted quite poorly. If it was them they'd be golfing

Fun with numbers.

Jets last series win was 31 years ago. Trouba scored 31 seconds in to game.

Jets also scored 4 in the first. Or 4 in 20. 420? On 4/20?

Spooky

Morrissey suspended, Ehlers late day scratch, Armia hurt during the game, and yet this team just whipped the Wild whose only win came against a team that flew into Minneapolis that morning after trying the day before, even with Parise and Suter the wild still don't beat the Jets, simply put the Jets are a more complete team.

well the street party was fun, but I probably won't do that again, maneuvering around was a nightmare, at least where most of the fans were....I had a delicious meal of Tots in bacon and cheese curds (man when did Tater tots suddenly become the hot food item?)

I was at the game. The early lead made it a lot more fun for the fans. My favourite chant was "We want Dubnyk" after Stalock made a few saves. Poor guy couldn't catch a break even when he was sitting on the bench.

I was having a hard time hearing the chants - did they chant "We want Nashville"?  Also I thought I heard them taunting Boudreau, and also at one point were they chanting "Maurice"?

We want Nashville yes.

Funny bryan little even said in a post game interview that they were getting ready for Nashville then he caught himself and said well whomever wins. Lol

The Maurice one was funny. The crowd went crazy when they showed a close up of him on the bench. He looked up to see we what we were cheering for,  then rolled his eyes and kind of smirked when he saw himself. That's when the chant started.

"Start the bus" and "book your tee time" were a couple others.

Sounds like WPS has been great too. Everyone in Winnipeg in a great mood.

I attended a few street parties during the Canucks run in 2011, and the cops were really trying hard to be nice to everyone, and all in all everyone co-operated and had a great time on the streets.   One of my favorites were the Sikh drummers, they were amazing!  That's why it was such a shame when those few idiots ruined the whole thing and started that riot after game 7 in the final round.  I was glad I wasn't there for that hot mess.  I really hope that never happens in Winnipeg, or anywhere in Canada ever again.

You would think a guy with that kind of coin could afford a decent barber.

Unreal game to attend. The energy from the get go was phenomenal and it only crazier as the Jets started piling on goals. So many awesome chants, too! Best game I've attended thus far.

re subban.... hope to see this a lot

good hit alex.

This was from a few seasons ago but...

This is what drives me crazy about PK. A clean hit that he made so much worse than it needed to be, then chased Ovie down.

He's a whiner and he's dirty. From what I've seen so far this season, he's also a coward. He's up there with Marchand and Perry as players with lots of skill but enjoy hurting others without punishment.
