He should be grateful he got to play so many years in the best pro hockey league in the world with minimal talent with the exception of dropping his gloves.

Top 15 talent there maybe top 10. Steal of the draft potentially

6 3 210. Power forward.

No reason that Vesalainen isn't as good or better than the 10-15 picks before him, another year in Europe probably in the cards and hopefully can make the jump to the Moose in the year following, maybe he surprises us.

Lol. Interesting picks still available tomorrow in hague timmins brook and many more.

He could in reality play for the moose this season but yeah probably not. Great value at 24. They did the right thing and went BPA.

Tonight went about as good as it could get considering that we were drafting 24th, a lot of d-man went no need to reach just to say we got a d-man that might be ready in 3-4 years, we need a 5-6 defenceman this year BPA was the way to go

What???  Not at all.  If you are on hockeydb keep in mind he was playing against pros at 16.  Against his own age he was dominant.

Against men he struggled mightily it said on various sites...  hopefully he can develop to something more then a 20 - 30 point player....

Ya he was 16-17.  Are you serious right now?  Ehlers struggled against men when he was 16 too.  Think man.

2 minutes into KV highlights and not a single fricken goal!

Had breakthrough career-wise/offensively at the U18 tourney but not much before that.

Vesalainen will enter the first of a two-year contract he signed with HPK (SWE) in April. So 2019?

2 points in 11 games playing with pros.  Not sure what point you're trying to make with that.

I'm not saying Vesalainen is Ehlers.  Just that you can't judge a guy based on his point production against PROS when he is 16.

Give Vesalainen two years in the QMJHL and he would be better than a point per game without question.

Can't say ethier one...he may become a good Nhl player or flame out..but he definitely doesn't have Ethlers offense at the same age but is a different player a power forward..we will see.

We gave up Cal Foote to keep Enstrom. I don't get it.

I don't know why this is so complicated for so many. But no that's not what happened.

No. You have no idea who they would have taken at 13. It might have even been vesalainen.

Who cares who they picked... as U.P. said it wouldn't make any difference for this season.

The more important addition will be who they sign for a backup goalie and if they can bring in some one for the 3rd pairing on the D.... way more important then what guy they draft and who will play for the Moose for a few years...

Chiarot is fine with buff. Forget the idea of 1st 2nd 3rd pairs.

Trouba Morrissey

Myers Enstrom

Buff Chiarot

Thats probably what we will see and that should be solid.

Hopefully maurice and huddy implement a defensive system that plays to our strengths. That right there makes a bigger difference than some scrub "3rd pair" LHD.
