I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

The whole point of Trump's farce is to rally his thralls on the anniversary date of the tragedy in Waco where (allegedly) overzealous federal agents were supposed to have caused the deaths of (allegedly) innocent people. He is trying to conflate the two events in a desperate attempt to have his followers somehow prevent his looming and well deserved and long overdue arrest. 

He was the president. They're not going to put him in handcuffs. If he's indicted, he'll be allowed to surrender to police at some point in the future for arraignment. 

I hope Trump is forced to surrender his passport(s). He has money stashed all over the world, including Russia and China, so he would definitely be a flight risk.

Yup this will be a nothing indictment in the grand scheme of things, but if the DOJ goes after him for 1/6 or the confidential docs that's a different ball game.

If Trump was arrested it could start a Civil War, that's the danger. The guy would love it.

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) seems eager to believe a potential decision by the Manhattan District Attorney to indict Donald Trump has something to do with his quest to unearth documents tangentially related to Joe Biden’s family.

Comer appeared on Maria Baritromo’s Sunday Morning Futures, where Bartiromo led her one-person crusade on tying a House GOP memo detailing a payment made to Beau Biden’s widow Hallie to a potential indictment of Trump next week. She initially tried to play it straight, asking if Comer had a comment on a Trump indictment, before Comer helped launch right into it.

“It’s very odd that this would come out just the very next day after I revealed bank records which showed that the Biden family, the president in particular, hasn’t been truthful with respect to his family receiving payments directly from the Chinese communist party,” Comer said. “So it almost looks like it’s an effort to detract.”

James Comer is a straight up idiot, McCarthy is the biggest pansy who try to act smart, MTG likes to give it out but can't take it, and Boebert might be the trashiest piece of garbage the house has ever seen. But more serious charges are looming, for the Don -  racketeering and conspiracy charges for his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
Turns out that there is another recorded phone call, this time to David Ralston, Georgia House Speaker, where Trump was dialing for votes. 

What will be interesting is watching what will happen to all the people who participated in the fake electors scheme.....that includes Lindsay Graham and a number of GOP House members.

Right-wing broadcaster Pete Santilli recently argued that the U.S. military should execute former President Barack Obama, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and former National Security Advisor Susan Rice if former President Donald Trump is arrested.

In a video clip obtained by Right Wing Watch, Santilli pleaded with members of the military to take action.

"Get the military, whatever few are left that are gonna side with the people," he said. "That you military personnel and you people with guns and badges and law enforcement will succumb to the will of the people. And ultimately, we demand, we absolutely demand that the criminals, the criminals in this country, if you want them held accountable, the criminals are Barack Obama, Eric Holder, Susan Rice, This entire criminal cabal that came about as a result of the murder of John F. Kennedy, the people that perpetrated the murder of John F. Kennedy, rise up to that."

The "authorities" have been scared of actually enforcing the law against the right wing nut jobs since Ruby Ridge.  The initial Bundy showdown was in many ways, even scarier.

For as long as anyone here can remember, that is how the sprawling military base neighboring this tidy little town in southern Virginia has been known.

Named for Confederate General George Pickett, it was first established as Camp Pickett when the Army built it as a combat training ground soon after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Then, in 1974, the then nearly 45,000-acre facility was renamed Fort Pickett.

But the Pickett era ends Friday when the name will come down as part of a sweeping congressional order to the Defense Department to remove Confederate names from its installations and assets. Pickett, which has been operated by the Virginia National Guard since 1997, will be renamed Fort Barfoot after Col. Van T. Barfoot, a World War II Medal of Honor recipient who lived in nearby Amelia.

Seidule, a Virginia native who served as vice chair on the federal Naming Commission tasked with identifying Confederate names in military locations and recommending new ones, said Pickett was thoroughly undeserving of the honor of having a base named for him.

“Pickett was a war criminal who summarily executed 23 U.S. Army soldiers in 1864 and then skedaddled to Canada because he was fearful of being hanged,” Seidule said.

Barfoot was awarded the medal for his actions in May of 1944 with the 45th Infantry Division in Italy confronting German soldiers and tanks. In a single battle he neutralized two machine gun nests, captured 17 enemy soldiers, disabled a tank with a bazooka and led his fellow soldiers who were wounded to safety.

He remained in the military for 34 years and served tours in Korea and Vietnam, according to a Virginia National Guard press release. Barfoot, whose grandmother was a member of the Choctaw Nation, will also have his Native American heritage honored at Friday’s renaming ceremony with members of the Choctaw Nation and Virginia-based tribes participating in ceremonial songs and dance.
