US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

So if you can see that it is irrelevant why bring it up like it means anything? Why defend this so hard when the slightest bit of scrutiny makes it fall apart?

You asked. I answered. If you dont like the answer what can I tell you. Its not my problem.

More dodge ball.....

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) on Monday suggested that Bolton reveal what he knows to the media.

Quote

“Now that what has unfolded with the manuscript being leaked — by the way, exquisite timing, maybe suspicious timing — The Wall Street Journal has called for John to just come forward. Just tell the public what you know. I think that would actually be a smart thing. I’d encourage John to do that,” Johnson told reporters.

Johnson said Bolton should do so “without involving the trial” and possibly go straight to the media.

I also have lunch with them, and discuss national security issues....

Trump and his handlers are stupid letting someone put a cell phone on the table face down when they are talking about sensitive stuff that shouldn't leave the table.

Yes, so then they can call him a liar and argue it wasn’t under oath so it doesn’t count?

So ******* transparent.

They're already doing that.

You don't seem to ever answer anything... You just play silly bugger and deflect from the topic at hand, whining about the big, bad, "progressive" boogeyman - all while pretending to be a moderate, rational voice in this thread.

Devil's Advocate only works when there's an actual basis in reality upon which to argue an counterpoint. You've done no such thing.

Obama's fault

"Earlier this month, the Institute for Supply Management reported that U.S. manufacturing activity fell to the lowest level in more than a decade."

Calm down. The legal rationale for involving the Biden s was asked. The question was answered.  Don't like it? Email your answers and concerns to Adam Schiff and or Dershowitz.

Crying to me about is pointless.

Every president since Reagan. The deindustrilization and the slow destruction of the working class started with him and continued unabated. Trump has made minor improvements.

Bolton... and Romney... Schiff... seasoned with a bit of Biden.

Biden somehow got his unemployed unskilled son on a ukranian energy company BOD. Trump defense wants it explained.

The GOP Senate caucus can subpoena anyone it likes with a simple majority vote. They don't need Democratic permission to do so, and they don't have to let the Dems have any witnesses in return. The GOP is in complete control of this process and McConnell himself said the Senate was aligned 100% with the White House.

Sooooo ....  if a Biden's testimony will exonerate Trump, then why doesn't the GOP get a Biden under oath, vote to acquit, and move on?

You answered with a bullshit answer. You wanna carry water for this bunch you can't just hand wave away the **** you spew.

I don’t believe for a second these gop sources saying they can’t block witnesses.  It’s a ruse to lure everyone in and then Acquit quickly.

but hey there is this

Two take aways here. 1) Bolton has him rattled (and when trump calls someone a liar it means they are telling the truth) 2) of Bolton was so awful what idiot hired him in the first place? Lol

In all of this, let's not forget what horrible piece of excrement Bolton is. He's a war monger and that was unfit for any role in government. So naturally, Trump hired him.

Bolton is so loathsome that he was going to fight any subpoena to testify in front of Congress, while writing a tell-all book on the whole situation. He wanted the money first.

It's incredible how hard Turtle is working to keep witnesses and evidence out of a trial, he is just as much a pos as Trump, that being said whether they have witnesses and evidence or not the outcome will be the same, they will a acquit Trump and he will go for a 10 month victory lap, Dems need to let it go and get their candidate ready to defeat Trump and make a hard play for the Senate.
