US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Rule 1. When republicans accuse democrats of doing something wrong, it means republicans are doing it.

oh boy- maybe we will see President Pelosi.

HUh, I thought to be "Penced" meant you were stood up for a dinner date because "Mother is unable to attend"...

If there was real justice, here is what would happen.  The Senate would do the right thing and remove both Trump & Pence, elevating Pelosi to the Presidency.  She'd immediately nominate Hilary to be VP and once confirmed, resign, making Clinton President.

republican party truly are traitors.

They have no morals of any kind. None. Bottom of the dregs of the filthiest pit of bacteria infested sewage in the most rancid place that exists.

They don't care the slightest bit for the actual lives of people working for the American Government.

see.....Valerie Plame.

hope to see Trump rotting in  solitary confinement. maybe the cell they used for the panamanian dictator.

Do you think a Republican controlled Senate would vote to impeach both and confirm Clinton as VP? Seriously? This was meant as comedy, right?

Yes ofcourse.  In fact I think the reason Trump sort of threw Pence under the bus was to use him as the nuclear option.  Ie he’s take pence down and risk President Pelosi to ensure the senate kept him instead.

I have always had very little faith in individuals within the US Gov't. The two party system breeds crap government and low morals but we've entered a truly appalling low. There is no one in the GOP worth a dime. They gawd awful.

And, who can blame the Democrats to stoop to their level now? The next twenty years is going to be, "yeah, but Trump..."

What a retched country. Barf.

Our country isn't much better. There are wretched politicians from all parties. Here & the US but things have deteriorated since Trump was elected.

We have some truly crap politicians but we're much, much better than anything going on south of the 49.

Every leader must still stand up and answer questions of the elected officials. Our media hold them to account.

Nothing that is happening down south could ever happen here.

AG Barr may have seen the light and starting to look out for no.1 tell Trump no press conference to peddle your BS

Nah, he's just as corrupt. He must see something that he needs to hedge against. He won't want to do time.

Ten years ago, no one thought a guy like Trump could ever have got elected. That we had become enlightened & no one like him could ever get elected. But since his election, it has emboldened racists everywhere which is sad.

Honestly, no matter how corrupt Trump is and how much he is fleecing the US, the overt racism and empowering fascists, is the most concerning.

Destabilizing Western alliances is another. We'll be warring endlessly because of this in the future.

I have two boys who will likely have to go to war because of this corrupt, impotent MFer.

I think he’s showing trump he’s got some leverage. He might need a pardon

The minute Trump is gone begins the international rebuild by the new President who I assume will be Democrat. Alliances will be strengthened but trust will take longer to take effect.

I am both surprised and not

The US is nothing but a regional power now. They are nothing but a bit player in world politics now. They can't even stand up to Turkey.

They are weak.
