US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

I think the plan was to lose, claim it was biased and corrupt and start a new far right media empire.  Im sure he relished being the most powerful man in the world (next to Putin) but this has been a disaster.  People close to him going to jail, all the reference and respect washing away, cant nail porn stars anymore and potential to go to prison himself.  And even if he's impeached, the idea of a far right media empire might still happen but it will be more of a niche for the bigots than a true "new right".

He's toast.

I don't think he planned to lose (but I used to). I don't think he ever thinks he loses. Even when filing for bankruptcy (and using his frequent-bankruptcy-discount card) he's happy that someone else is paying his bills - he's winning.

He's an admitted sexual predator. He doesn't take no for an answer. He's never wrong.

Yeah you could be right.  I think he thought he'd lose when the P*ssy Tape came out.  But then Comey did him a solid (forced to by Rudy G's New York FBI guys).  I read it was 77,000 votes that won him the election so even if you pretend the Russian's didnt have an impact which they obviously did, imagine the porn star pay offs came out right before the election.  Easily would have swayed those votes.  Thats why, when Trump claims its no big deal, he's desperately trying to convince his base.  It was campaign violations which might not be a huge deal on its face, but had a huge implication on the election.

I never really thought Trump would end up in prison but Im pretty convinced now he will eventually be indicted.

Trump Org. CFO Allen Weisselberg has been granted immunity by the Cohen prosecutors, another fun day in Trump land

Whoa!!!  That is massive.  I remember reading how he was the guy who knows where ALL the bodies were buried.  They are going to tighten the noose on Trump by taking down everyone close to him and his business and the day he's out of office, the FBI will be waiting with a warrant and cuffs.  Unfortunately, he will now declare martial law and suspend elections to remain President forever lol

Makes you wonder why those closest to Trump are flipping rather than counting on a pardon.  They clearly have no faith in him.  And Manafort made a fatal error.

Walls closing in on Don Trump.....everybody around him have no intention of going to jail for him, and they will flip away.

The Cohen revelations this week, will be only a footnote, for what is coming down the pipe next.   The money trail is going to be a particular problem for Trump, in terms of some of the real estate deals, (with Russians and others) and other financial maneuvering within his companies (and his phone-balony trust), that has been going on since the 70's

Weisselberg currently runs all his companies, with Don Jr. and Kushner, on a daily basis, and has also done Trump's tax returns.  He also manages the Trump Foundation.  Between him and Donald's ole legal fixer, Cohen......a lot of sewage is going to rise to the top, in plain view.

And...

The orange goblin is mad that negative stories of him come up on searches. He really does want to create a dictatorship.

Good grief... Now Google is plotting against trump.

Maybe if  "96%" of the **** coming out of the trump WH wasn't so stupid, vindictive, incompetent, arrogant, idiotic, egotistical, ignorant, racist, and narcissistic- the news wouldn't be so negative or "BAD".

The benevolent dictator in training demands you bow and praise him or he will come after you, whether he lasts the full term or is forced out he is in big trouble and so is his family and he knows it.

I think Trump picked up a tip or two from Kim Jong-un when they were over in Singapore. All he wants published is propaganda.

He's slowly getting people used to the idea of a dictatorship.  By the time 2020 rolls around, he can lose the election and claim its tainted, launch an "investigation" and "while the investigation is on-going" suspend democracy, including the election results.  Voila.  Little Hitler.

So now trump adds “statement from the White House” to his tweets to make them sound more important. Read this and tell me it wasn’t just randomly written by trump or an idiot.
