Jersey Advice (Or: Streaks, Rallies, and Superstitions...)

Preface: I have played competitive sports my whole life and am extremely superstitious. Don't mention the SO when there's a bagel up after 2 periods......don't go anywhere near the pitcher in the dugout when the no-no's going after the 7th..........backwards or inside out hats (or gloves) on the head at all times during a rally.....

......and, when the Bombers win, you HAVE TO wear the same jersey (and whatever else...) the following week, to maintain the good mojo.

So, throughout the big win streak, I wore the same 2004-ish (first year of Reebok) royal blue blank jersey. I never washed it...nothing. I just hung it up after each game. Then, after Calgary loss, I thought "Ehhh that was a bit of a fluke...I'll keep wearing it...." and they get pounded by Reilly and the Esks. Soooooo........do I go to another jersey? Do I just wash the "lucky" one to try and bring the good mojo back??

These are serious and important questions people........what to do for Saturday............?  I have about a dozen to choose from....Brown, Armstrong, Dunigan, Joe Pop...many many......

I kind of blame Oshea for not shaving off his win streak beard and starting anew

  • You don't wanna know, man

  • Way to take one for the team. I suspect there was more than one streak in play here.  Time to rinse and repeat.

Nah. Just wear the gitch after inverting them if/when you shower.

Whenever I get a jersey stitched, I always make sure it's a retired Bomber that won at least one Grey Cup. It forces me to step back, take a minute and read up on a player that did something great for this team in years past. I also do this because that way I don't end up with the awkward situation with my first jersey from 2011 in which I had an Odell Willis jersey, who after their GC loss, the Bombers released and then he was picked up by the Riders...

Had it re-stitched as a Ken Ploen jersey.

I'll wager there were fewer kids raising their hands or coming to your desk

I may have embellished this one. :)

Whenever threads (ha!) like this come up I'm reminded normal people wash their jerseys.

I should get on that one of these years...

Probably best to dry clean if it's an expensive one.

I really cut my hair short, shaved off my goatee, clean shaven & changed the part in my hair from the middle to the side. A complete new look 2 weeks ago. Then the Bombers lost. It's my fault.

That's just creepy.

Noeller, my advice on your wardrobe situation would be to go with your gut unless said gut is too big for the jersey or shirt to fit properly.

this has become an increasing concern over the last....5 or so....years. But I'm still good! I buy XL for a reason... #Baggy .....But gut is torn on two thoughts now:

-jersey from the 7 game win streak is now cleaned, and ready to be worn again

or

-I found my first jersey I ever purchased myself.....a screen-printed Stegall from 2007 when I was a STH......and I've been thinking about wearing that as some attempt to bring back 2007 mojo (the good part of that year....)

Didn't know we were allowed to discuss body parts on here now, but fair is fair.  We needs some pics. to get the ball rolling.  Jacquie, you go first, the rest of us will follow eventually...

They gave me a free Westerman 55 T-shirt with the order that I thought turned out to be a lucky charm.

I took a Willy tshirt with my jersey. :(

Because I know everyone is waiting with baited breath......... I wore a Poplawski jersey tee under my 2004 blank royal blue (now freshly washed) that I'd been wearing during the 7 game winning streak......

Make sure everyone writes down exactly what they wore today and re-dresses for next time.   Be a team player.

I went back to the Westerman T with Jersey over it. Also, never shave on game day.

As luck would have it, I didn't shave yesterday, so no more shaving on game day. My wife will understand.

I was wearing this delicious Sheer Zebra Print Bodystocking featuring sexy Black contrasting Zebra Stripes and Black Trim along the neckline, Deep-V front & long sleeves, open Crotch under my classic Herb Gray jersey. ;)

OMG, I want to gouge my eyes out now.

Leggett jersey over old Bomber t-shirt. WOO HOO! I won't have to shave my legs and underarms for another week. ;)

I've been to 2 games with a friend this season and we're 2-0 so if anyone wants to supply tickets for us we like Section 132 near the top of the section. ;)
