Yep I gotta agree about Hurl, he seems to always be in pursuit mode if the running back breaks the LOS. Very seldom initiates contact. Was left to Leggett and Randle to take on Messam. Although it wasn't a huge outing, Messam did rack up over 70 yards. Conversely Harris had less than half those totals taking on a weak dline, Singleton was a beast.

Only positive I got yesterday was that Mulumba was cut , maybe he'll finally come north. We can sure use him after watching Hurl always a step behind and Wild going down.

So true. Remember Dave Ritchie's post game interviews, priceless. But his in game decisions and schemes were some of the best we ever had and he was a players coach.

Looking Ahead: Winnipeg Vs Calgary
coach17 replied to Taynted_Fayth's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Basically by winning the war in the trenches, controlled pressure means you keep Mitchell in the pocket and make him hurry his throws. Calgary looks beatable, I think we have the personall up front to make it happen. Offence needs a grinding type attack with lot of high percentage underneath throws, and a healthy dose of Andrew Harris. We can't afford a lot of 2 and outs early, Calgary's O is just to good to give them a lot of opportunity. -

Tackle Messam before he gets a head of steam, controlled pressure on Mitchell and long time consuming drives I think will be the keys. -
The one to Dressler was overthrown for sure, but The other was Denmarks fault, he should have kept running.

Why don't we use Weston Dressler as a rturner?

Same reason we don't use Harris. The healthier those two are the better our offence. -
Yep Hurl didn't look out of place. Sure makes a difference with an interior Dline that holds their own though

Think Riders shoulda traded Carter and kept Edwards. The guys pretty solid.

http://3downnation.com/2017/06/20/introducing-3downnation-power-rankings/ 3down has us ranked 4th which is probably where we should be after last season and a first week bye. -

Riders picked up Anthony Allen today. -
http://3downnation.com/2017/06/01/city-ticats-clash-pro-soccer-rights-tim-hortons-field/ Hamilton's got bad blood between city council and the team over the new stadium and lawsuits. It would be bad timing to hold a Grey Cup until things are resolved.

Hardrick would be the easiest American talent wise along that online to replace, but boy he brings tons of energy and fun and I think we would miss that.

Back then there was no foam, worked with webbing suspended and attached to the plastic so your head floated around in the middle. -
Gotta be something about Augustine that I'm missing. He has all the physical tools and performed head and shoulders above all the other rb/fb. He owned the lbs on pass protection drills.

Hope he drops that far

Bombers interested in bringing a Soccer Team to Winnipeg?
coach17 replied to Goalie's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Smart move. The club needs to find different ways to utilize IGF for more dates. Soccer in Winnipeg has many fans. Who woulda thought the Goldeyes would be so successful. I think soccer is boring and personally would never sit through a match, but see that with the proper management it could work here and might actually strengthen our football club from a financial standpoint. -
That makes more sense than the 3down one. There are going to be some surprises.

Best person for the commissioner's job has to be Pinball, if he would take it. He's charismatic, everyone loves him. Has played and coached in the league at a high level and has been involved in management of a team that desperately needs to get back on track in a market that the league needs to get jump started. He also is an excellent decision maker. I really think there is no better person for that job and the time is right.

The only thing though, is Woods has size, and you can't teach that. He's like 6'8" and was listed at 295 but came into the combine at 330.
