Something DT posted about Sergio: his average FG attempt was like 5-6 yards longer than anyone else's. I know it seemed like he wasn't as good for the Elks, but they literally trotted him out there for every long shot.

I will never begrudge everyone for putting out CFL content. It takes time and gives us all something to talk about. More is needed. That said, judging the draft is impossible. Even for Kyle Walters, you have to go look at underdeveloped kids go out there and perform with and against kids who will never play football beyond college - how do you assess that? Imagine you're a teacher and trying to assess someone for a Gr. 12 physics class, but you only have their Gr. 3 materials....and it's mostly wrong.

You always accuse people of doing this same thing, you know. Focusing on one small part of your statement and pretending it was the entire point you're making. Investing in the product means expanding content, not reducing it. Yes, the preseason games are a part of that.

Now hear what we're saying. If we want to the CFL to survive and perhaps even grow, there needs to be an investment into the product. Yes, it is easy to cut costs. But there is an alternate business theory where you invest into a product to improve it's returns.

Walters said in Tait's most recent article that they are treating it like every other position this year. A true competition with Americans, Canadians, and Globals; and seeing how the whole roster will shape together.

I think the CFL is a marketing dinosaur who doesn't know how to sell their product and hasn't for 20 years. I think there is incredible untapped potential to grow the game. I would not limit that progress because others might be watching. That's the point, get people to watch. I do not consider it taking the high road, I consider the secrecy cutting our own legs out.

That’s a loser mentality in my opinion. There is no way I am changing the way I operate based on some potential advantage it might give a couple of leagues that won’t be around in two years. I am not capping our ceiling because it might raise their floor a bit.

Well, attendance has absolutely dropped across all sporting events. Undoubtably has a lot to do with the upgraded quality of TV production value since the early days of watching sports.

I think people forget that not too long ago we couldn't watch all the games. I'm only 36 and I remember having to listen to Bob call half the games each year while I was in my 20's. Black outs, limited coverage. It's so much better than it was.
