  1. I didn't think January had that great of a year but... if there is one part of football which i really don't feel comfortable about with my knowledge, it would definitely be the OLINE. Think Unless we actually know what's supposed to happen and all this stuff as it pertains to the OLINE, then really we as fans have absolutely very little clue, you are gonna have people here tho who claim to know it all when it comes to everything, Be the first to admit tho that when it comes to OLINE, i'm not sure . Think it's really easy to say January didn't look good but maybe he didn't look good cuz of things other guys were doing or not doing. It's hard to say. Perhaps his back is injured cuz he was the guy actually carrying the oline for the most part?
  2. Best game of the year by far possibly in the entire NHL. Don't matter that they lost in a shoot-out, they stood tall with the PENS all game long. I was watching with my girlfriend and I'm like I hope they end it in OT because if it goes to the shoot-out they will lose, She's like why? I'm like Crosby Malkin, It's not fair really... and it wasn't. Pens really didn't deserve the extra point tonight but they got it. Jets at times were jobbed by the refs, not saying the calls the refs made were suspect but i guess the calls they didn't make were a bit head scratching at times. Regardless tho, great game. Jets showed up and played very very well against the best team in the league right now. Hell of a game, seemed like a play-off style game. Bomber fan has knowledge of the NHL and the Jets but i do have to admit that his post seems a little fueled by ??? emotion? or perhaps a few too many adult beverages.
  3. That Als D is the reason for their turn around, the offense is still kind of a joke actually.
  4. Phx will end up in Vegas or Seattle Eventually, The other city will get an expansion team. Florida will end up in quebec.
  5. I think some of the fans here need to be educated a bit more to understand that it takes time to build a winner. It doesn't happen over a short period of time. Walters used Calgary as an example, said when was the last time they made a big free agent splash? Not jock sanders is not considered a huge free agent splash. We got a few seasons to go to probably be in a position a team like Calgary is, There is no quick fix, Only thing fans can really do is be patient cuz I feel that the fans impatience is part of the reason why we are what we are right now. Fans are too emotional at times it seems, Don't really understand how bad we were last year and how depleted our Canadian Talent really is, It's gonna take time to build that depth. Walters even said it today, said people may not want to hear it but drafting olineman is a long process. It takes time. There are no quick fixes. People can point to free agency but.. fact is, there are lots of factors that goes in to free agency too, You can offer the player all you want but if he wants to go somewhere else, it's really irrelevant what you offer him. Are the bombers in that spot after one season where free agents will want to sign here instead of going elsewhere for the same money?
  6. I'm starting to think in the past that the MLCC was just an excuse for them not to allow pre-gaming and all this stuff. MLCC seems to be a bit more relaxed these last few years. One would assume MLCC signed off on this. Not sure why they'd have to exactly tho. I don't really get the point, Why would MLCC be against "beer snakes". The same people who were drinking this year are gonna be the same people who are drinking next year too, not sure why MLCC would actually matter here. Are beer snakes illegal? Is it illegal to stack your cups? Cuz i mean, If they sold dixie cups of water, i could hypothetically create a "dixie cup water snake".
  7. Sounds like injuries and ratio were a factor and when sears did play, O'shea said he was one of their best players out there. I'm not sure it was O'sheas decision anyway, Think it was more due to ratio and Etch. If ETCH is gone, i think it's likely Sears is back and starting for us.
  8. Look around the league, lots of second pairing D man are paid like first pair guys. Salary shouldn't matter one bit. THe cap is just gonna keep rising and in a couple years, Bogos cap hit will probably look pretty good actually. Just wait till you see what they have to pay Trouba.
  9. Probably because you can't get an objective remark out of him. I suggest you and the others questioning the way MOS handles the media and answers those questions listen to the Walters interview on 1290. We know how he handles the media, he doesn't throw anyone under the bus, that's not being objective that's just being a good HC. HUh, you are confusing cuz your post prior somewhat suggests that you are questioning the way he handles the media.
  10. a few years ago, you couldn't drink outside the stadium, now they have a zone set up for pre-gaming. MLCC has come a long way the last few years. MLCC makes money off all these beer sales too.
  11. Probably because you can't get an objective remark out of him. I suggest you and the others questioning the way MOS handles the media and answers those questions listen to the Walters interview on 1290.
  12. Really solid interview. Anyone questioning the way MOS handles the media during the season really needs to listen to this interview. Didn't really get any impressions either way about ETCH or MB for that matter, Probably find out soon enough tho as Walters ended it by basically saying that Him and MOS will now sit down and discuss the coaching and what they feel is best moving forward. Good Interview. Much better. The one on the main site? Not so good, very vanilla, this one? more in depth, still vanilla but... some of Walters responses definitely makes you go hmm.
  13. Chris Jones is obviously coach of the year, Higgins started off way to slowly to be considered coach of the year, Als were awful for a very long part of the season. Coach of the year is Jones to lose. Smart move by the ALS tho, Can't keep firing coaches every year.
  14. Get a feeling Sears will exhaust his NFL aspirations, if none come to fruition, Don't think any will, Think he will come back to the bombers.
  15. If he plays average I think you're right, but the team has to play better than average in front of him, like they've been doing in the last little stretch. Allows him to play better positionally in the net and not have to scramble to make the big saves. Oh i agree, the team itself the last few years have been below average too in several key areas, mainly defensively. Hopefully they keep this up because it's working for them right now.
  16. care to give a recap of what makes you feel that way? I didn't catch it.
  17. Bogo is somewhat of an enigma out there, one shift he looks like he's definitely gonna be that top pairing d man, making very nice plays and passes and hitting guys left right and center, another nice hip check last night by bogo... but then on another shift he makes a dumb play that ends up in the back of our net. Perhaps expectations are too high for BOGO, he might not be a legit #1 pairing D man but... He's probably not that bad as #2 pairing guy.
  18. Guess the only question i have is we released him i guess, is he still our property?
  19. Maybe dumb isn't the right word, maybe just the way he worded those questions came across as being a little douchey and honestly, what type of answers do you expect when you ask your questions like that. As MBRG explained, plenty of other ways to ask those questions without sounding so douchey about it.
  20. So you really believe Miller is not committed to putting a better team on the field? It would appear not quite as much as bringing in the beer snake since that was his first public item of business. Don't you agree if they don't take this rebuilding seriously it will take a lot more than beer snakes to sell tickets? I don't care about beer snakes, I just don't want to keep hearing it will take another two years when we have heard that for years. Hamilton got it done in one year even after suspending Chris Williams and Edmonton who were with us last year could end up 13-5. the beer snake was brought up because they put out the season ticket renewal info and obviously some sections will be a bit different next year. Wait until the end of the freakin regular season before going nuts about about the moves he isn't making for next yeah. Oh sorry, I guess I forgot we were playing this week but can't remember who. So why did Miller not wait until the end of the year? According to you if it only happens next year why announce it today? Could very well be that reason right there. Makes sense if it is, I mean gotta think about this a little bit, What if theres a family out there who have been sitting in these 2 sections and they are renewing their tix say next week or tomorrow or really, whenever.. Probably best to let them know in advance that maybe just maybe they should consider getting tix in a different section because next season this section is going to be changing a wee bit. Does the timing make sense? It depends, maybe it would make more sense to announce this at a later time but... if people are already renewing their tix for next year right now or tomorrow or a week from now, probably good to let them know in advance, then they can decide, hmm maybe i'll get tix elsewhere instead. Would suck if you went down to the office to renew your tix in those 2 sections and they told you, oh yeah you realize this is going to be the rowdy beer snake allowing section? Kind of puts those people in a bit of a tough situation, this way i guess, maybe they can discuss where they want to sit in advance instead of having to do it on the spot? I dunno.
  21. Just to clarify, do you care one way or the other? LOL. Short answer.. Nope. Long answer... Nope.
  22. Do I think It's juvenile? That's irrelevant really. I won't be sitting there. Who the hell am i or who the hell is anyone else to sit here and tell people how to have fun anyway? It's none of my business really, if people want to stand all game, drink excessively, create beer snakes, honestly go for it.. it doesn't effect me one bit. A few years ago, i would have been right in the middle of it all... who the hell am i to say what is right and what is wrong, could care less. And i'm definitely not gonna sit here and tell people how to have fun, people pay for their tickets, they can do what they want really. As long as it's with in reason, this stuff is all with in reason, like i care sitting in the lowerbowl 20 sections away what people in the student section do.
  23. Yeah wild is a pretty damn good player but when you look around the league and compare him to other linebackers, I dunno. He's definitely not a bighill or elomimian or even a sherritt. Not even sure he is a McCoil to be honest. 150,000 seems like too much for him, doubt another team would give him that. He might be our best linebacker but like i said, he's probably not even in the top 5 linebackers in the league. Top 10? Maybe but it's probably debatable.
  24. Pav has been pretty spectacular so far, very good really. He doesn't need to continue to be spectacular, he just needs to be average really. The last few years he's been below average. If he keeps this pace up, we make the play-offs easily, if he doesn't and is just average, (league average), we should probably still have a good chance at making the playoffs. Pavs problem the last few years is he's been below league average. This year, he is well above it so far. If he is just average, we have a chance.
  25. Yeah Goodrich was looking pretty good in camp too until he got hurt and sent back to the rifles. Had a dominating year. Could be a pretty good player for us down the road..
