The only argument to be made in Dresslers case is he has arguably been the best receiver in the league the last several years.. he does have five 1000 yard seasons under his belt, He is what i'd consider to be an elite receiver, there aren't many Weston Dresslers in the CFL. What desjardins is doing though is potentially crippling his franchise a wee bit in the long run, What's gonna happen when time comes to sign a few more guys.. Will they have the money to keep signing guys to these ridiculous over priced contracts? Only time will tell. Not all of his players can make "top dollar".

Yeah it really doesn't make much sense, I suppose he is trying to win now but that teams needs more than just one receiver. The sad part is the RedBlacks are actually one win away from being host to a playoff game.. Yup. But i agree 100 percent, that team won't win now, I'd be surprised if they won anytime in the near future even, not another game, i mean a championship.. I would understand this more if that team was one or 2 players away from being really really good but they aren't. They got a long way to go.

But Vega,Turner,Anderson,Hall. with one of peach or fraser rotating, heck could probably get them both on the roster, works. Realize, getting a bit carried away here but... Just got a question. How good would Dressler be in Ottawa? Ottawa isn't SASK, they have no getzlaf or bagg or simon last year or fantuz prior, Dressler would be the man and the only receiver they have really, Couldn't teams just take Dressler out of the game seeing as he would have no help there at all and take their chances on the other guys who are not getting the job done? It's a pretty valid question here because sask has had good receivers for years, Ottawa doesn't really have one receiver.. How good would he be there? If dressler wants to win, he probably won't go there, if he wants to be the man and be the only receiver on the team and only cares about money, he might.. But i mean, 3 guys Hank, Dressler,Shologan making probably over 1 million bucks combined. Throw in Chevon Walker and it's more.. How much is Ottawa handcuffing themselves for the future here? If it was me, I'd appreciate Ottawas offer but probably go to the team who has a better chance to compete now and in the future, Hank is 40, Demarco is done for the year, What if Hank gets injured and you got green than goose poop O'brien playing.. Man oh man.

I think 200,000 for Dressler is fair. Dude has had five 1000 yard seasons, He's very good. I'd actually say he's the best import receiver in the CFL the last several seasons. I've always liked the guy, was really angered to learn that he came from North Dakota and the Bombers didn't make a play for him originally. You know what, 200,000 base with a 50,000 signing bonus.. I'd do it. Hell, if need be, let's make that one time signing bonus 75000. Got cap space, why not use it.

I dont buy it. Firstly, that would be the worst thing ISIS could do though I assume they'd gladly do it if they could. But that would be the end of ISIS because the US would decimate them. I'm not convinced he goes to Ottawa. All that money or not, I'm just not convinced. He probably will but, one would assume that if they offered him 250,000, he would have signed it by now... The reason the media has somewhat moved on is because the bigger story is ISIS and a possible threat to the USA. These guys are for real, they ain't messing around, beheading people on youtube videos.. Remember MH370? dominated the airways for a long time, what ever happened there? Then it became about Ukraine for a while then something else happened and they went on about MH17 for a while, then ferugson happened, now ISIS.. Fact is, as much as some may not like to admit it, there are bigger stories in the world than a black guy being shot by a police officer.

Asper has been around longer than Miller has been. Say what you will about Asper and all that, but without him, there is no new stadium. Facts be damned, Asper has done a lot of good for the team the last few years. People can talk about location all they want but for most the city, st james wasn't the easiest place to get too either. Apparently 2 teams will be moving, the guesses are florida moves to quebec city, they are already in the same division. One team moves to the west and the Toronto and probably Seattle get the expansion teams.. 32 teams apparently still, 16 west, 16 east. Anybodies guess as to who those 2 teams that move are but one would assume Florida has a good chance of being the one that goes to quebec city.

Sounds like it's just as simple as restructuring. It happens in business all the time. This is a community owned team, the bombers are looking to save some money. I can't really blame them. Bell, don't know the guy, seemed like a nice guy but he was a nice guy who got paid a nice chunk of money for a very long time. He will be fine. In the end, it comes down to money and i'd suspect this one did too. The fact that they aren't going to go out and hire another COO and VP says all any of us really need to know.

The only thing I'll say regarding the post about it being an old boys club, Miller came in and got rid of some of them "old boys". Not really sure those posts really make sense. Unless people are referring to the BOD, but the BOD has removed a few older guys and added a few new younger guys and gals for that matter. Thinks are a changing, for years and years people referred to us as a gong show, Bell might have been a nice guy, Bannon too, Others also but... Times, they are a changing.
