The Winnipeg Media
Sometimes there seems to be a frantic effort by the local media, to bury the Bombers before the season or even tc gets underway. They base everything on the previous years performance, forgetting in this 9 team league, huge turnarounds are not an impossibility. This has been proven in the past. I have to laugh at all the bogus prognostications, about coaching changes (who they don't know) or player changes (which they really have no real handle on) are all trotted out as skeptical and failing because of a last years performance. It almost appears that the media wants to go negative no matter what, and really as local reporters, should be giving them support. I guess it's 'show me the money' type of attitude with a lot of these guys and I think this year the Bomber brass and team are about to 'show them the moola'. It'll look good on guys like Freezer and Wiceck.

Any updates on Willy's hand?
We can win in Mont. with Marve OR Brohm. Prefer Willy though but all is well with Bryant Turner back in the lineup. Turner can beat the hell out of the Als. all by himself. And anyone questioning my take, I'll suggest it's about as accurate as Nasty Nates. lol

Week 1 - CFL Power Rankings
Whoever did these rankings obviously didn't watch any of the games or were drunk. All I can say is, what a bunch of junk.

Week 2 CFL Schedule
Excellent analysis do or die. I'm also picking a west sweep. The 'west is best' take, a lot of fans are uttering, is definitely front and centre....for now.

Trade possibilities?
We shouldn't be tinkering with the o line period. We're just getting off the ground ourselves, why would we want to better another team in that dept. Let them swing in the wind like we had to and go find some help. Good luck to them.

Hamilton @ Corner Gas
After watching Collaros and comparing him to our guy Willy after the first start, I'm sure glad we signed Willy. Maybe Danny Mac really does know qbs. Of course that sieve of an o line Ham. is trying to pawn off as starters didn't help Collaros BUT he didn't do a thing to help his own cause. Only one game but if this is any indicator, I'm liking our chances of success this season.

Bombers Looking to Trade Korey Banks
Some players have a very hard time admitting to themselves that they are done. Having said that watch him sign somewhere else and try to make a point, that we made a mistake. Hopefully we haven't.

Eskimos @ Lions
How many times have we seen this picture before. Glenn has to come through and he chucks it up for the opposition. He will be just as Glenn always is, a mediocre qb. who can't finish. Lions will be looking for a qb. soon and I would expect Wally to be glancing at our roster. Now that's a switch. lol

Bombers Looking to Trade Korey Banks
Too bad it didn't work out. I knew there was something up when during tc O'Shea told the media, that Banks told him he was 'taking a day off' and Mike didn't know what that meant. Seems to have been some conflict there.Koreys experience was/is an asset but when ol father time catches up, the writing is on the wall. Younger guys coming on board tipped the scales I guess. I don't think we'll get much in a trade but I imagine Walters will give it a go. This signing was a bust. We move on.

Travis Lulay to begin season on six game IR
The leos better pray that Glenn stays upright or it could be a long year in lotus land. It's being reported that Lulay should have taken a year to rehab. You hate to see players of his calibre out for any length of time but another hit on that arm and his career could be over.

GDT: Toronto @ Winnipeg
Hey bluto...we're here sooner than you think. lol. I think the Bombers have been badly underestimated.

Bombers interested in Romby Bryant?
What are you trying to do to an ol man, give me a heart attack. Cheeky.
-
Bombers Sign OL Gord Hinse
Hinse, really good signing. Now as someone suggested go get Peach. 4 canucks on the o line would be definite boost for us, if we could get this done. Would Huffer entertain a trade for Peach and if so what do we part with?

Burke
'I didn't want the job...but somebody had to', pretty much sums it up. He was forced to take on a bad team with all of it's 'lacking talent' and yet he ran head long into it. Burkes brilliance is shining through right there. Knowing full well (in his estimation) that the Bomber head coaching job and team, would be nothing but an anchor in his future, he decided to take it on anyway. I don't know Tim, d co-ordinator looks to be the pinnacle of your abilities. Stick with it.

Robert Marve's history
I don't think Marve has any knees left. You wouldn't know it by the way he took off up the field to move the chains last night. If he can continue to impress against the stumps, I could become a big fan of his in a hurry. Accurately throwing the rock on a rope is a gift. I hope he can keep it going.

Alouettes Fire OC Rick Worman
Definition of a workaholic...'a guy who drinks on the job' Guess Worman forgot to put that on his resume. Looks good on ya Popp. Finally some other team is grabbing the bozo spotlight.

Madani: CFLPA Recommends Strike Vote To Members
Golden Goose meet Cleaver. I doubt that both sides want any part of causing, what could be irreparable damage to the league and it's fans. Saner heads must prevail and it looks like a light has gone on, in a couple of noggins', with the latest developments. Get it done guys.

New Bombers coach O'Shea doing everything possible to control the message
So mealy mouth Friesen is at it again. The season is in it's infancy and this guy is on a neg. rant about the Bombers. No surprise really. He can't get coaches to contradict each other when he's only getting one message from the top. No more playing both ends against the middle. Too bad for the pot-stirrer, I guess he'll have to be a little more positive in his articles and that hurts. Message to Friesen, times have changed and Mike O. IS NOT Mike K. AND does not resemble him one bit. I suppose he's getting his kicks just getting the kind of response most fans and the team are giving this latest drivel. I read it and filed it under garbage.

Rookie Camp Day 2 (Reports and Discussion)
Speaking of CKND, whatever happened to Phil Reimer. Wow the years sure fly by. Getting channel 12 was a biggie back in the day and you had to have a damned good set of rabbit ears or a tower for that reception. Youngsters today would just laugh compared to the technology that's out there now BUT that's the way it was. Happy retirement Joe P.

Argos' Future In Limbo
Harper and his gang of cons. have a policy, where they will not fund sporting venues. Seems we didn't have much of a problem getting them to cough up but then we had Vic Toews twisting some arms in the backroom. 10 mil. isn't a huge amount and this fed. bunch have wasted more on more trivial events. Guess the CFL doesn't quite cut it with the cons. I hope they can work something out or the argos are going to be behind the eight ball and voters in that area will be left with a bad taste in their mouth.

Caption this ...
'Wait till ya see the jumbotron on this end, errr okay 'tron...it's going to be this big'.... Wasn't this guy from a comic strip??

Replacement players opinions?
Nobody will benefit from a strike/lockout. The fans get po'd, management loses at the gate and the players never recover lost wages. I hope we can get both sides together and hammer out a deal that will be acceptable to both sides. The alternative is not pretty and the league as a whole will suffer. Saner heads must prevail. As far as replacement players go. That will never end well.

Rider Fans asked to help fund new stadium
Why don't they just market a bunch of cereal flakes with all of their players on the box. Seemed to work before with a couple of former guys on their team. Seriously though, the club should have looked at a cheaper stadium for the green guys. That's the suggestion a lot of their fans had for us. Good luck on the money grab. LOL

Walters media conference
Solid choice for mlb IF they go with Wild. The guy hustles on every play and is a real spark plug on D. As far as his size goes, what's the old saying, it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. This guy brings it.

Duane Forde OL Draft Preview
Oh for sure, Forde is giving us his journalistic opinion but he has been aware of CIS happenings and players for awhile. He must have some insight. Would it measure up to a Wylie and his take on an o line guy? not likely. Goosen was ranked highly at one point but seems to have dropped off. I don't know what Forde has seen to redeem the fortunes of Goosen but I guess we'll find out on the 13th. As for Ottawa having a re-think on their choice, let's just say with a guy like Desjardins in charge, anything is possible.
