well i'll eat my words after the season...but I bet the stats combined will replace it....see what totals each pair accumulates...and yeah...we need to find 1 guy to replace in the WR group...I sure we can find 600 yards some where

I see a receiver in Sask with the highest percentage completion stat, 12 yds/catch, 27 years old,  that probably could be gotten on an affordable salary... and replace Davin .. JWL...

Remember a few years ago when Rider fans were insisting that Jones was just "resetting" the market and doing the league a favour... rather than just lowballing players.

I lost all respect for the Riders and the Rider fan base, over that guy, when he left them high and dry... Then it landed up, being how terrible the Bomber organization was,, that Lapo wasn't allowed to coach the Riders....

I absolutely agree but there needs to be a guideline of some kind. But that's too logical for the thick heads running this league to understand.

For starters, you have a maverick in Chris Jones, who comes with all the shenanigans that is capable on a football field or office. Secondly, the individuals/organization running the Argos, who rehired him last fall and endorsed him for the Edmonton job. Should never had happened, he had his dream job, coaching high school football....

He's bad news for this league. This is a prime example of things to come. Buckle up the chin straps...

Meredith was released last season. I don't think they'll try to sign him.

Thanks, yes he was released, but there was some hype when he came on the scene last year. After his release there was a comment or two, that he may be an option in 22, as he possessed playing time as a NFL receiver for the Bears & Saints, I believe. Further, he is/was a resident here in Winnipeg last year, today I don't know. This is why I added his name along with the other receivers in my response above, showing that the team is ready when needed to move forward or change.

But overall, I believe the Cdn Mafia knows their team. So, when it comes time to move forward in certain situations, making those not so popular decisions, they will or do. As probably is the case here, now...  leaving you and I to debate, lol....

We have a big time stud ol prospect in the wings too, laim dobson. But its always a pretty safe bet to say we or any cfl team will look hard to add linemen in the draft.

Yeah theyve built that way, the next step is the hard one though. But then we've watched as guys left in FA over the past few years and been doing it already. This season might just see some harder names go.

Yes, right about Liam Dobson... Hope he is here for training camp, although the NFL desire could be there for him, this year...

Some one, I don't recall who but credit to them, said in another thread I think that this is how the stamps stayed a dynasty.

They didnt get overly sentimental in their attachments and never let feelings get in the way of progress on the roster. They didn't over pay their vets. If they got a huge offer else where, the next guy up was just as good or better. It takes a LOT of trust in your organization to do that. We've seen so far that the bombers have done that at several positions. None the least of which being DT, DB and OL.

I'll add to that idea, doing the opposite of what the stamps did is how the 2001 bomber team collapsed in the years following. We didn't find and replace vets, we got stuck in this "we are good enough, just keep it together" mode.

As if Walters and the rest of the mafia didnt have a hard enough job just keeping a core of a team together. They also have to know when to stop chasing a great player like maybe lawler or stove, and develop the next one.

I believe the roster is being built that way: Harris - Augustine, Oliveira & Borsa / Stove - Sayles, Walker, E. Rose / Adams - Mcknight, Agudosi, Meredith & recently signed rec who was in last years training camp and showed well before his injury.

This years entry draft will yield an O-lineman and I believe they draft a defensive tackle as well in the early rounds.

kind of agree....and if it comes at the expense of a Harris and or Adams...thats the price u pay to stay on top

Our cost so far in free agency has been the 2 starters (Desjarlais, Alford) and 1 rotational (Kongbo) to the NFL. I believe its not over yet, sadly we will lose another (3) three (Harris, Adams & Stove) to our league, and perhaps a couple players with lesser roles will not be resigned.  Just my take!!!

Also, believe Lawler, Darby, Oliveira, Grant & B.A. will be resigned within the next couple /three days.

And no formal talks is totally different than no talks...looks like making more to things than there is...if he back..garuanteed u will see a motivated Harris out ton prove all wrong..and I hope it ain't against us

I do put some stock in some of Farhan's reporting regarding the Bombers and the CFL. I also have seen the Walter's presser from a week ago. There was mentioned of Head Coach and Andrew Harris having conversations, but sounding positive, as I took it....

Based on what I'm reading,, is this someone or a outlet,  looking for "headlines" or a news creation? By now, we should have heard something from the local folks who cover the Bombers....

He’s only 28 and hardly has any mileage on his body. The biggest factor for running backs wearing down isn’t usually age it’s usage/mileage over the year. I just can’t help but love Agustine’s skill set. He’s so fast and quick. I would still rather go with One of Harris/Oliveria and Augustine because of the different styles.

Let's not forget about Borsa who is signed, had some impressive testing numbers last year prior to the draft and did well with the U of Regina last fall. Harris, Oliveria & Borsa as our Cdn rb's this year. Augustine given an opportunity to roster with another team, as he deserves that full time shot in my opinion.

Count me in for Weineke.... Probably my favourite non Bombers receiver.

Hopeful we can keep retaining a few more of our guys this week & early next week (8 - 9 guys).  Think we may lose one of our receivers (hope not), one of our running backs next week, along with Stove and probably a DB. As it is today, we lost 2 starters and a rotation D-linemen so far.

As far as receivers, Jake Weineke would be first choice as non Bomber free agent receiver, along with Greg Ellingson & Josh Huff I believe fit, if its Kenny Lawler we are replacing. Replacing Adams or Bailey, need more time to think on them, as we have recent signings, McKnight and a couple/three vets that were in camp last year or were signed/retired... Another would be Walker from Edmonton, but I wonder about him, as I was "all in" on him a couple years ago and he turned his back on us and signed in Tor (compensation would have to reflect last years Edmonton performance)..... Definitely, hard no's on Williams & Speedy!!!!

No qb, no OL, no Rb... Can't the lions just go be a bad team cheaply and not **** things up for the rest of us? Be no playoff money for Lawler in BC. If that team is anything but dead ******* last in the West I will be shocked.

Lawler, hopefully takes that into consideration... the cost of living in BC, the team moral here, the positives of playing in Wpg,,, all, I can say, still ... Wow to the offer
