Griffin takes a lot of snaps... it's a testament to his abilities that you don't notice him much.... DBs, OL... when you don't notice them, that usually means they're playing great
Griffin is mostly playing 4th LB opposite Kramdi in a lot of snaps, so it's not good if he becomes invisible.

He's never been a home run-hitting big run guy. His career YPC is 4.9, and his longest each year to date is 29, 38, 27 and 10 yards. Which isnt too far off zachs first few years in the league. Even Fajardo has 1 30+ yard run in his career.
Despite the field size, we don't see monster qb runs to often up here. The nature of defences takes away those lanes and adds depth layers vs the NFL. Where as if Lamar jackson out runs the pursuit angle and beats one guy hes gone for 40 yards and a td.
Strevy was also used under buck and plop like a FB. The amount of designed runs he had that where counter, wide, outside, off tackle etc, very few out side of the odd off guard short yardage push.
It doesn't have to cover 70 yds. or end in a TD to be considered a great run, in his first 2 seasons in Wpg. I fondly remember him breaking through into the secondary and rumbling for a few 15-20 yd. beauties. Those brutal runs + a fur coat is what his legend was built upon.

Relevant because if it's 2018 or 2019 he's got a walk in TD because he can beat the angle (like you mentioned). Now he gets run down before he's even anywhere near the sideline. He needs to recognize that he can't change direction at all and apply that in his decision making/timing for everything because it's different now post-injury. Super duper ******* relevant if you're putting together a gameplan for the guy because he's not a threat anymore on scrambles or rollouts, called QB runs other than maybe a draw up the gut.
Other team's fans used to call Strev a glorified running back, but he really hasn't busted off a great run since he returned last season.

We've seen what we have in him .. it's not much.
Artopoeus showed more in preseason than Wilson did all of last year (and in camp / preseason this year).
It seems like Strev looks but doesn't really see, repetitive pattern throughout his career of throwing to a receiver whether he's closely covered or not because that's the play call. Maybe why he always rushes his throws, hoping they arrive before anything bad happens.

Funny how Walters suddenly woke up from his slumber & realized we need receivers yet when guys were available last February did nothing in free agency.
Did nothing or signed 4 FA receivers? Does 4=0?

I'm slightly worried that O'Shea has lost the room... With the asterisk that I don't know enough to know enough.
In years past, even if we lost, we rarely if ever got blasted. An Osh team was always in it, right to the end. One time in Calgary they were down like 25-3 at the half, and cake back and almost won it. Now, there doesn't seem to be as much of a fight in them.
Coming in first every year isn't a given, nor is it a realistic expectation when 8 other organizations have the same goal, assuming the playing field is level and they have an experienced GM and coaching staff. Would the Stamps be further ahead if they'd fired Dickenson as soon as their winning record dropped off?

Hard to not be disappointed with this signing.
I wouldn't even have guys in my database who are less than 4x All-Americans.
Justin McInnis college film would not look inspiring either and yet his size and catch radius cancels out all of his negative attributes.

He's right if there was ever a time to throw a guy out it that would be because of a hit like that, full run lowers head hits high
You can see the head referee watching the play as it happens in the background not 10 ft. away, he does not react and from what I could tell he didn't throw his flag either. It almost seems like Command Centre called the penalty for them, because they just couldn't decide if it was illegal or not.

No, rolling it back would be worse.
Bottom line, a player has to show he belongs by playing well. With Osh, if his faves don't play well, they still start & play.
Nah, some posters here hated Dolegala on the roster last year.
That's mostly because he was ungainly.

But now you have guys, like Strevy who has FIFO tattooed on his body, that have to be convinced things will be better in order to come back.
Strev. has nothing to complain about, he's getting the same opportunity to play that Dru Brown had in 2023, it's up to him to show every GM in the CFL what he can do with the opportunity provided. He may top out his career as the Dustin Crum of the West.

Reggie White accepted a practice roster spot on one condition, that he be released after a week if he was still on it. One week passed and then he was gone
That means he wasn't willing to sit around and wait for an opportunity that may have never presented itself.
I think the reason White gave for leaving is he needed to feed his family, if he was paid not to play, problem solved. Decent chance he may have played in place of Case last game.

The reason I made it as a "rumour" is that there was a followup posted on 3DownNation with some quotes from front office staff
https://3downnation.com/2025/03/27/cfl-salary-cap-increase-not-set-in-stone-cflpa-still-working-through-revenue-share-allocation/
The Bombers are obviously using that extra money to sustain their 1 game IR, 4 or 5 healthy players are being paid not to play. I have no problem with this as a tool to expand the roster and hang onto players they would be in danger of losing if they sent to the PR. Regret they didn't offer Reggie White the same deal.

Fajardo, MBT? Wash your mouth out with soap.
At some point, let’s see what Terry Wilson’s got.
Explain how that might happen? If he was #2 right now instead of Strev. he'd be picking up valuable game reps, 6 Q's so far this season. Instead he's wasting away on the sidelines waiting for his football career to expire.

24 TD passes, 21 Ints, the past two seasons for Zach. Walters should not have extended him before this season.
If Zach reconsiders his future, they need to sort that decision out before the end of this season and move fast, starting QB options heading into 2026 are slim, top 3 available candidates Arbuckle, Fajardo, MBT, maybe Taylor Powell can be lured away if BLM continues to play with Lawler. No promising backups on the horizon, stockpile has been depleted. Given the obvious lack of options available, won't be surprised if they stick with Zach no matter the consequences or hand the ball to Strev. and struggle to achieve a .500 record.

He likely would say the same of any wr. But maybe his preferences are steering our decisions at wr too.
Much of the organization was head over heels in love with McKnight as well though. Guy was too small for the speed/skill set he had and we kept running him out there expecting him to do in games what he did in one on ones and none padded practices. And it wasn’t happening.
There is a pattern, Zach likes playing with smart intuitive receivers that are tuned into what the defence is showing, not so much the dumb ones who just run their assigned route regardless.

Yes, he won't be a FA till next year.

So did such underperformers as Josh Johnson. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it but right now I stand by my feeling that he's not a quality CFL receiver.
Zach provides his opinion on Case and Stearns.

1. Every player in the CFL has a highlight reel like this.
2. He failed to make a catch during his one year in the Big Ten.
3. He did little in his three games last year.
4. He did little in either pre season this year or last.
5. Its not even like he was standing out in camp this year. The guys we kept hearing about during camp were Wheatfall and Myron Mitchell who we cut.
So add all that together and I see little reason to be excited by Case or to expect that he is going to step up and be this big weapon for us.
Why waste energy pre-judging, wait and see what he does, he made the team for a reason.

I like the addition of Person and hope he gets a decent number of reps.
Case-Not excited at all. Our WR recruitment was a complete bust this year.
Looks like Case has some pretty decent skills, all depends whether the QB can get the ball to him or not. Holm says he's the 2nd fastest player on the team next to himself.

Lawler is what he is - his game hasn't changed. What has changed is he has a QB (and an offense) that can feed him the ball.
Make note, Hamilton still doesn't make effective use of their running game, they may look like the "Belle of the Ball" during the summer with BLM filling the air with footballs, but their magic likely fades away in the fall when his fingers turn to ice.

I think that's going to be standard procedure with starting QB's, pull him out of the game so they can start again next week without the PA or league intervening. I bet VA will be ready to play next week.
