And they get a standing ovation. This same group will be great next season. No issues to see here. Get those season ticket renewals in.

Chevy: Chipman will give him a lifetime job with the Jets as GM. That way we are assured of a playoff spot by 2035 season.

When it comes to under-performing players then yes, maurice should get some blame.  He's the coach.
Chevy's decisions are an issue too but only if he's not executing ownerships plan.  If ownership was fine with not having a veteran back up and risking the struggles of a young goalie, then so be it.  If ownership was fine not bringing in D help when Trouba held out and Myers got hurt and Buff struggled playing 30 minutes, then so be it.
Who's decision has it been to keep the same goalie coach that has seen every goalie get worse the more they play here?  Who's decision has it been to keep a D coach since Day One when the D has been a consistent issue?  If that's Chevy, thats a problem.  If it's Maurice, its his problem.  if it's Chipman, then he is clueless.  And thats not true, so whats the issue?  Budget?  Who knows.
Big if Chevy and Maurice both get multi year extensions it tells you ownership is completely fine with what happened this year or very, very optimistic in the face of contrary evidence.

I've said this about Kyle Walters since day one... he might not always make all the right moves... but he sure as hell won't fail due to lack of effort...

It was brought up before on here, when you develop a guy and he goes to the nfl then comes back a FA you should get some sort of compensation from the team that picks him up.
After a while the draft rights are just like neg rights. Lots of vets down south have their cfl rights owned the same was as foucault. They spent the pick so it doesnt count against the NL. (from what i understand)

Disagree it is a problem ... they will sign if they want to play  (before main camp) and there is not that much wiggle room for the draftees any way

    And yet...
"Arguably the lowest moment of Kyle Walters’ tenure as general manager of the Blue Bombers was the decision to select Regina receiver Addison Richards eleventh overall in the 2015 CFL draft over Simon Fraser’s Lemar Durant.
Durant, later selected eighteenth overall by the Stampeders, has recorded 572 receiving yards and four touchdowns through two seasons in Calgary, by far the most of any receiver selected in the 2015 CFL draft. The Simon Fraser product also had a strong Grey Cup game, grabbing four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown. Had the Stampeders won, Durant would have been the front-runner to be named the game’s Most Valuable Canadian.
Richards, to date, may be the first receiver in CFL history who has recorded more career drops (2) than receptions (1). The Regina product has never started a game and does not play on special teams, meaning he often doesn’t see the field during games. For a league that allows teams to dress only 44 players, using a roster spot on a player who fails to reach the field is a serious competitive disadvantage."

Feel free to look me up - links on my profile. No relation at all. Definitely not. I'll wait.
As for Mr. Durant? I think you're drunk. Why would you make such an insane assumption, without research? Oh wait probably the same reason someone would paint him out to be a villain, yet have zero corresponding evidence. I guess that's expected on this forum.  Your rivals.
As far as knowing him because I've watched a few games - I can't say I know him, I said I am familiar. I am definitely MORE familiar - being that I have followed him, my daughter actually knows him -- than someone who is acting like they know him stating he's a headcase, with authority.
The mention of accomplishments, and who celebrates them --  was not around thinking he's any different than any other CFL player as you suggested....it was the fact that IF he was who the above user was claiming -- he sure has tight relationships with all the people who he's worked with closely. Nutshell- that claim is garbage.
Anyways, I'm done here. Ya'll do what you're comfortable doing.
    GL this season.

Me too is why I suggested keeping the ratio as an overall roster management tool not a guaranteed starting ratio tool for Cdns...we still have to have Canadian players and would still benefit if they could start.. just wouldn't guarantee that they have to start.

Neufeld was the starter until he got injured (again). Bond's both better and cheaper. Without Bond, we don't win as many games as we did last year.
JFG has to be penciled in as a starter this year. The other candidates are Richards and Coates. All of our import receivers are better than them.
Hurl mostly played special teams last year and took some reps on D. That's the same as Bass and Bennett. I don't think it's going out on a limb to say that Hurl made more money than either of them.
If we reduced the number of starting NI's, we would replace the worst one with an import. That's why I chose the players I chose. They are likely the worst NI's who get starting time. BTW: Muamba isn't that great and Greenwood is still looking for a job because a LB with concussion problems isn't going to get a lot of chances.

The Jets defensive structure (lack of) and players like Buff and Engstrom were raked over the coals on Trade Centre ... good! PM has to take a big part of the blame just like he took the credit 2 seasons ago. Not sure why it's so bad but one of the commentators called the Jets the 2nd worst defensive team in the league and I agree.

I could handle seeing the ratio reduced by one starter. I like seeing Canadians play too, but it's hardly a deal breaker... I just like CFL rules. If the NFL switched to CFL rules today I'd have Sunday Ticket by tomorrow.

Because a certain number of NI's are mandated for every team and the number of NI's who can actually play at a starters level is less than the number who are mandated, those NI's are paid big bucks, well over the 100K mark. The going rate for a top draft pick, who hasn't showed that they can even play in the CFL is over $100K. Backup NI's are getting more than $100K simply as insurance. The savings for backup imports vs backup NI's would be pretty significant or the backup NI's would have to take a pay cut to compete.
No, 100K isn't going to change a high profile athletes mind to come to Canada, but it's not about competing for players with the NFL. We all know that the CFL can't do that. It's about bringing in better players for less than their current NI counterparts are getting and that's what most top end US s college players are.
I think there are a lot of US players who'd love to continue their playing days.
