Finishing first, home ice advantage with an ideal first round match-up is great but EOD as long as they're ready to go, prepped and focused come play-off time I'm less concerned with winning the remaining seven games and more focused on what they need to tinker with to get ready (PP, PK, Faceoffs, gearing up for a physical grind etc etc). Obviously if they lose out the remaining games in convincing ways this less concern becomes great concern.

From design to application, that's the key.

If the Jets don't win the Cup this year (which we all want them to win), what do they need to do this post season to label this 2024/2025 season campaign a success with lots of confidence heading into the 2025/2026 campaign? Lose first round in seven games? Win first round but lose in the second round? Make it to the Conference finals but lose? Make it to the Stanley Cup finals but lose? Only winning the Cup can they label this 2024/2025 season campaign a success? I go back and forth from losing in the Conference finals to losing in the Stanley Cup finals to deem this campaign pretty successful with optimism for next year.

There's definite match-up differences both good and bad for the Jets but at EOD shouldn't matter. Ultimate goal: win 16 playoff games to secure championship. First objective: Making Playoffs. Second objective winning first round etc etc. I'm hoping though it's the Wild in the first round because of the rivalry and would be extremely enjoyable to show them the first round exit. I loathe this team almost as much as I loathe the Leafs. Btw, aren't the Oilers another possible first-round match-up?
