We have lots of cap room. Not excessive at all imo. I think it's more of a test of how willing Ownership is willing to spend to the cap.

I think it's more appropriate to say NHL coaching experience isn't mandatory. I would suggest having NHL coaching experience is relevant to consider when looking for a suitable head coach of a professional hockey team..

How about, they didn't cost us the game. For me, Hurl and Buknor are no where near the 'we need them in the lineup or we're sunk' status. More of the, "we are managing things with them in the lineup' status.

Yea maybe probably I don't know. Bigger picture though for me is Jones and his approach in how he does things, from coaching, to management, to players, to fans, to media etc. Time will tell obviously but, with all the respect I can muster, not a guy I want anywhere near my Bombers. Yea I know, for some 'who cares. as a long as he's a winner'. Whatever, you can have him.

I think Jones Ego is going to blow him and this team up. He's putting his own mark on this team and letting his ego get in the way of retaining quality players from the old regime without his stamp of approval. Yea sure Durant but my guess he would have pulled the pin on him as well but cupboard is empty on available QB's.

In some cases yes however saying hasn't helped at all I would disagree. It's actually reversed calls (like fumbles, no catch) appropriately.

Me too but good luck with that. Name me a professional sport that applies every 'black and white' rule 100% properly while the game is being played. I'm not defending the silly calls, incompetent calls that ought to be straightforward. I'm incensed like the rest of us when it costs our team. However, what I'm settled down and thinking logically, I'm suggesting, and I think a few other posters here are as well, is a continuous improvement process versus perfect or nothing. No one who thinks this through is suggesting being flexible with accountability, it's more of always working toward that gold standard of performance. The one's that can't are usually, not always, but usually left behind. One of things that tells me the CFL wants to improve officiating is a few CFL referees from last year were relegated/let go as well as their partnership with NFL referees.

I know you're joking but I find it fascinating when statistics don't support one's claims, then it's all bogus, but when they do, it's awesome.

Refereeing has so many components to it that it's difficult to clearly categorize as simply good or bad. I see it as there's a great degree of room for improvement in many aspects of refereeing (technology, interpretation of rules, rule appropriateness, player/coach/referee mutual respect, quality of applicants wanting to be refs, training, compensation, consistency, appropriate reprimands for poor performance etc etc) I actually have no problem with this perspective, it's just a perspective, a voice wanting to be heard among many others.

Which is exactly my point.

If I'm the Oilers, I'm taking that deal as fast as I can. If I'm the Islanders, I'm taking that deal as fast as I can.

Like I've said before, now that my man Buff has been secured, I'm hoping on the Myers train. No way we trade him for a 4th pick, we secure him, he's part of our core, he's a special player with a unique skill set that's still evolving.

I know what you're saying but wow we sure do need to redefine what a 'celebrity' is.

It just seems over the last while more and more 18 to 20 year olds are able to make the starting lineups, stick and excel than we've ever seen before. Probably a combination of good and bad reasons to explain this.

Something about Crawford rubs me the wrong way. He's got that Dallas Eakins 'look at me' approach to coaching. It's been nice without him in the league. I hope Toronto hires him, they deserve one another.
