It's going to be interesting to see what Chevy does with the Ehlers situation, especially with where the Jets find themselves this season. It would be insane to me that one of the options is him walking away as a UFA getting nothing in return other than what he has contributed to the Winnipeg Jets over the last seven years.

We release a great locker room player who still has fuel in the tank that can probably still deliver on the field if he can stay healthy, we release a great locker room guy with nothing left in the tank and re-sign a great locker room guy who used up his reserves some time ago that puts the team at a disadvantage when he’s on the field. Different positions yes but logical, consistent and anti JT AB sentiment no. And no it’s not the end of the world just a bit annoying different rules for different players. And of course all of this is just my humble opinion.

What’s interesting to me is would have ZC been pissed if he had been pulled after his injury? My guess he would have been more disappointed than pissed which would have made it ironic in the explanation we received on why he wasn’t pulled. It was a head scratcher but onto 2025.
