Media & police aren't saying it but it looks like terrorism.

Which can be said about most mass shootings in the US that are committed by US citizens.

I think you know what ISO meant.

CNN falling all over themselves to avoid suggesting radical Islamic terrorism. Even contradicting their own intelligence analysis.

Compared to the US media falling all over themselves to avoid calling other mass shootings terrorism because they were committed by white Christian men.

When a Christian male kills and injures co-workers it's called a workplace shooting but when a Muslim kills and injures co-workers it is automatically brings on calls of terrorism before any facts are known (network intelligence analysis is pure speculation).

Can you point to a shooting done by Muslims that was in the news that didn't end up being terrorism?  It's common sense.

On the other hand, the "Christian" males pretty much always end up being very much not Christian.

How many tickets were sold to corporate sponsors in BC? Obviously you have that info in order to make a fair comparison. Waiting on the numbers, thanks.

I don't know, I don't work for the League or Lions. Again as for a truly fair comparison as you say let's see what happens when Hamilton gets the game.

I also find it hilarious that you give BC a pass with flying colours for 'almost' selling out while Winnipeg gets a fail for selling out, but not fast enough.

I wouldn't give BC a pass per se, there was little to no buzz around the Grey Cup last year and they failed to sell out, of which I found disappointing, but again that was their second Grey Cup in 4 years. Winnipeg only "sold out" the game by subtracting 5,000 seats. I love how you seem to ignore that Regina sold out their Grey Cup with only a 1/3 the population of Winnipeg, so similar situation to compare from Winnipeg to Vancouver, no ?

You really don't see any other factor that could account for the difference?

  3. Had a great time at the game today.

Pretty much any problem can be traced back to the Bomber team being so lousy recently. The Bombers, and by extension the CFL, seem to have the lowest amount of goodwill from casual sports fans that I've seen in the last 20 years or so. Well the Mike Kelly era was maybe worse by the end, but it was more of a direct hatred towards one person. When he was fired the fans jumped back on board amazingly fast. I don't feel like there's any quick fix available like that now. People that I talk to seem to genuinely have given up on the whole organization, and don't even bother hoping for firings or big signings because its assumed they'd backfire anyways.

My point is, I'm impressed any bomber fans at all showed up.

  4. The club screwed up on pricing the game and on screwing season ticket holders on the discount. Wade is doing a poor job and is pissing off a lot of core fans.

This might be true, I don't know.  But I do know that no matter what the Bombers do there always seems to be no shortage of people claiming that the team is screwing them over in various ways. Maybe it's a Winnipeg thing, or maybe it's a the team hasn't won much in a long time thing. Whatever it is, it's been around longer than Wade Miller.

  5. The only change I want to see is the removal of the idiotic PI coaches challenge.  I still can't believe the league thought that would somehow improve the game. It's terrible and every time it happens I fight the urge (and sometimes lose) to turn the game off completely.

I would be fine with them starting the season a couple weeks earlier too. But don't really care since it's not like the Bombers have been hosting any November playoff games lately.  The cold weather games are kind of cool (haha!) in my opinion, since they're relatively rare. But on the other hand, the whole month of June would be a beautiful time of the year to be watching football outside.

  6. Maybe he asked for his release when he realized he wasn't actually going to become the starter after a couple weeks.

It's funny, except I remember we had Shawn Lemon at one point and he said the same things, and quickly asked for his release too. A few years later he's a very good player in Edmonton.

  7.

Why on earth did they build it with a capacity of over 18,000?  I guess they didn't learn anything from the Jets.

Nor did the NHL if the talk about expanding to Las Vegas and not Quebec City is true.

    18 is the average.

It was built for the future something that is unknown to citizens of this city.

I've been hearing for the last 5 years how the wave of the future is slightly smaller arenas/stadiums to keep demand high, just like Winnipeg has.

I'm not saying we did it on purpose - if they built the arena for an NHL team instead of an AHL team I'm sure it would have been around 18,000 people too.

I'm sure they'll sell out 18,000 for the foreseeable future too. But how many sellouts are the Senators getting these days in their massive arena in a city a level below the Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouvers?

  8. I don't have a problem with the Bombers hiring O'Shea, Walters, or Wade Miller.  What worried me was that they hired all three of them when none of them had experience in the position they were being hired for.

But what's done is done. Might as well keep them all now until they get enough experience to build a winner instead of starting the process all over again.  Hiring Richie Hall as DC was a good first step. Having Willy and Nichols is a good step too.

  9. This is literally the worst roster I've seen all year.

    Two backup longsnappers

    Two fullbacks

    An inferior returner

An inferior defensive line rotation (providing Cole isn't hurt)

    480 linebackers

One backup receiver who will be playing his first game ever, flanked by a guy who is really not a receiver at all

Chevon Walker still in the lineup

Are all the backup longsnappers and fullbacks for kick coverage?
