  1. As someone who doesn't care about the beer snake or section S one way or another, I find it extremely nitpicky to be upset that they happened to announce a change in policy. How are people supposed to know otherwise? Seems like the introduction of a "student" section is something that people would have to know about for it to actually work.
  2. If anyone needs evidence of Cornish's injury, just look at the picture on this page above the caption "Calgary Stampeders RB Jon Cornish walks to the dressing room after taking a hit against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers..." http://www.calgarysun.com/2014/11/04/jon-cornish-maurice-price-set-to-miss-calgary-stampeders-finale Does that look like the face of someone with a fully functioning brain?
  3. That's not true, we get liberals and feminists telling us how to think correctly all the time.
  4. I like it too. It gives me a good reason to not have to go to Winnipeg to shop for anything with my wife I'm sure businesses in Steinbach, Selkirk, and Portage are in favor of it as well. It would only happen province-wide. Well I'm pretty sure the mayor of Winnipeg doesn't have the power to instituate a provincial sales tax. Also, we already have one of those that was recently raised. But seriously, am I misinformed on what a city sales tax would be, and why people think it would be a good idea? How is it different than the PST, which everyone is still mad about the NDPs raising? Correct, the Mayor does not have the power but he would ask the province to institute it. But it would be a tax that was collected province-wide, administered by the province but the money collected would go directly to the city's, towns, etc that it was collected in. The reason it would only happen province wide is for the reason mentioned - if it was only Winnipeg, people would shop outside the city. Plus, other cities and towns would benefit too. Bowman's idea was to eliminate residential property taxes and charge a 3% or 4% sales tax. For people like me, I'd spend less per year in taxes. The criticism is that it would impact low income people the most. But mechanisms would be built in to account for that. Its a fairer way to collect taxes. Right now, the burden is on homeowners to pay for many services everyone uses. I would be pretty annoyed if I had to start paying an extra sales tax in Steinbach because the idiots in Winnipeg can't run their city properly. We're doing fine here. Unless all the money would go to a new arena of course.

I'm sure you'll look good in a cache creek sweat shirt. Sadly, we haven't had a Saan in Steinbach for a while now.
  6. Yeah, imagine if someone told you a year ago that the refereeing was actually going to get WORSE. No one would have believed that possible. But it did! I place a lot of the blame on the ridiculous PI video review rule. I never tire of pointing out that it's become just as much of a farce as I predicted it would.

  8. Seems like it's always Barker and the Argos involved with everything shady that happens in the CFL. Can someone please build the Argos a new stadium already so the league can stop bending over for them constantly?
  9. Willy in his worst game this year is still better than Joey Elliott was 99% of the time. Or Brink, Hall, Goltz, etc etc. Maybe even Jyles.

  11. Serious question: Is this your first year following the Bombers? Because the things you are suggesting are the exact things that have doomed the Bombers to failure at the QB and Coaching spots for years. Honestly, this city might be suffering from it's worst and most irrational case of "backup QB envy" we've ever seen. We finally have a star in the making and we have multiple people clamoring to sit him for the the greenest backup we've trotted out there yet. It's like Bomber fans are addicted to throwing unproven quarterbacks into the fire and hoping for a miracle. Except this time we already have a good one! We don't have to ruin anymore young QBs people!!!! Just once we can let a young guy develop and JUST MAYBE he'll actually be ready when it's time to give him meaningful playing time. You know, like what Saskatchewan did with Drew Willy for us. Unless the plan is to keep on trying new quarterbacks until we find one who is perfect every single game. In that case, sit Willy and let's try out Marve.
  12. Last game of the season and STILL people are calling for the Bombers to "play it safe" and sit Willy. LOL for what? Our next game is 8 months away. All our backups are in their first year in the CFL. There's no reason to put them in a game if we don't need to. Lord knows it hasn't helped any other year in recent memory.
  13. Welcome back. We all missed you during your lengthy time away.
  14. This new young Joseph fella sure sucks for the riders. They should have picked up a veteran backup like we had in Brohm.
  15. Didn't Lapolice get to the Grey Cup in his second year as head coach? That was with Buck Pierce and Steven Jyles at QB too. Can't have been that bad.
  16. And it was never said that he was. People have been crying about how he's injury prone and a waste of a signing pretty much since the second game he missed.
  17. At this point there's just as good a chance as any that Moore's just having an unlucky year. It happens, one injury leads to another and then another... it's easier to hurt something else when you're compensating for something else. Now if it happens again next year, then I'll be bummed out. As for Neufeld, we had a player we were losing to the NFL anyways. I doubt anyone was offering more for him than the Grey Cup host team where money was no object.
  18. Damon Allen wasn't an average quarterback. Damon Allen SUCKED. /hot take
  19. Am I crazy, or does anyone else think that if the Bombers did this to someone who was a good soldier like Smith was, the cries of "classless organization!" would have been deafening? I feel like it pretty much already happens for far far less all the time.
  20. Korey Banks, Barrin Simpson spring to mind immediately.
  21. Yeah, if we want to sacrifice all offensive production to just protect the QB we may as well sit Willy after all. Or run the ball 60 times.
  22. Mitch Peacock @MitchPeacock1 O'Shea asked about possibility of trading RB Grigsby instead of releasing him - "no comment" #bombers #cbcmb LOL. Someone here called it earlier.
  23. And one more thing... I'm sure O'Shea knows about the great game of "gotcha" that the media played with Tim Burke, Bellefeuille, and Goltz last year that pretty much cemented everyone's opinion of Burke as a clueless doofus and cost him his job. I doubt that O'Shea wants to put himself in that position in his very first year as a head coach.
  24. I can almost sort of agree with you here. Except that we've already been reading and hearing these guys whine about the no-coordinators access thing all year. And it's not every day that the Bombers release their starting RB, who also happens to lead the team in touchdowns. Despite most here not being a big fan of his, it's still big news. Especially to the regular joe schmoe fans that Paul Friesen claims to speak for. But do they focus on that? No, it's complain about their lack of access to the coordinators, and then whine about something else that any dummy would know is obviously not the Head Coach's department. If Darren Cameron would hold his own media availability it would probably last an hour and no one would show up to ask O'shea anything.
