  2. Interesting tidbits from the NHL Awards: Connor McDavid got 195 of 196 first place votes for the Hart. David Pastrnak got the lone holdout vote, and that reporter who pick Pasta also decided that McDavid should get no better than a 5th place vote for MVP. That (presumably Boston) writer should be kicked out of the PHWA. Hellebuyck was the only Jet represented, finishing in 11th place, with a total of 10 votes (2 for 3rd place) Cole Perfetti finished 11th in Calder voting, with one 4th place vote and two 5th place votes. Shockingly, Jets were almost totally absent from Selke voting, with Adam Lowry getting one 4th place vote to finish tied for 30th overall. Rick Bowness got one 2nd place vote for the Adams trophy. So did Paul Maurice and Sheldon Keefe. All finished tied for 11th, one spot ahead of Tampa’s Jon Cooper. Josh Morrissey finished 5th overall in Norris voting, with 3 first place votes as part of his 80 total votes (out of a total 196 voters) Hellebuyck finished 3rd in the Vezina voting, with 2 first place rankings as part of his 14 total votes. Only 30 of the 32 NHL GMs voted this year. And finally, 3 Jets got Lady Byng votes. Last year’s winner Kyle Connor finished 28th overall with one 2nd place and one 5th place vote. That put him one place behind Nate Schmidt, who finished as top Jet in 27th with two 3rd place votes. Hellebuyck also got two votes for the Byng, one of five goalies to get votes for the award.
  3. And with that post, you just became the Yoko of this forum.
  4. You get 3 strikes for this pick. Better luck next year
  5. And Alex DeBrincat does not want to re-sign with Ottawa. This is a legit issue with smaller market and Canadian teams. But some talking heads dismiss it because “Toronto can attract free agents, so it’s just a myth that no one wants to play in Canada”.
  6. I wish I could laugh at the absurdity of that, but it is so much closer to truth than anyone cares to admit.
  7. Frankie Williams had the most memorable highlight, just not the way he wishes. Never. Gets. Old.
  8. What is this, the cfl.ca stats page??????? All good, appreciate the effort in running this for us.
  9. I would say the same, as I went with all home teams except Winnipeg.
  10. But, putrid roster management.
  11. I guess the Tyrell Pigrome experiment is done for now.
  12. Here is the link: https://d3ham790trbkqy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/2023-CFL-Guide-PDF-for-site.pdf Page 204. This is the CFL Guide and Record book. If you go to cfl.ca and click on “stats” in the menu (the 3 stripes on the top left side of the web page is the main menu) it will list 2023 CFL Guide book in the drop down sub-menu. That guide includes the record book, updated yearly.
  13. Actually, record is 20 for both teams (Ott @Ham Oct. 23/71 - each team had 10) and 13 for one team (Toronto, in Winnipeg on July 20/90). Winnipeg has 6 in that game as well, so their 19 combined was just shy of the record.
  14. 60% of the time it works every time.

  16. Dalton, until I get bounced or he actually scores.
  17. Agreed. He sees the suggestions, pulls a George Constanza and “does the opposite”. “Putrid roster management? I’ll keep on keeping on doing it my way instead. Criticisms of that approach? I’ll point to the number of games it has cost us (zero by Speedflex’s admission) vs. the win-loss record I’ve compiled the last 6 years. Any other complaints?”
  18. You win the internet this afternoon, good sir! Soda out my nose.
