  1. Some random stats from tonight. Beyond the home losing streak, Edmonton has now lost 14 straight overall. Third longest streak ever in league history. The 22 point comeback is not a Bomber record (that would be 27 points in Hamilton) but is the “second” largest shutout deficit comeback ever in CFL history (3 teams were down 24-0 and came back to win, two of them road teams, the 22-0 comeback is the next biggest).
  2. As O’Shea has said, “they’re all starters”. Has got them believing in themselves and each other. One of his great strengths.
  3. The flow of the comments are just what I imagined they would be before the game started. But the unintentional comedy is always good for a laugh, if not an eye roll.
  4. Perfect call at the perfect time by Buck on the blitz screen pass.
  5. Great push by Prukop on that one.
  6. Not sure why that was “before yards gained”.
  7. I would agree. Even if we miss, with the wind at our backs a punt single by the Elks to tie is tougher.
  8. Should have gone for 2, or is it too early? Maybe with the wind we hammer the kickoff for another point.
  9. The waif with the teenage girl body comes up big!
  10. Haven’t you figured out Booch’s shtick yet?
  11. That’s a lie! Two steps at least.
  12. Nichols gets Fajardo’ed on that sack attempt.
  13. It’s early but Bighill looks lost out there so far. 3 glaring misses so far on tackles.
  14. O’Shea was talking about McCrae as a returner on OB today. Acknowledges “he’s working on it” but says they like the skills he has to make a dynamic return with his speed and vision. Maybe the missed field goal return against Calgary bought him more rope with the coaches.
  15. Nice fielding by McCrae on that punt anyway.
  16. Bighill looked out of position AND slow in pursuit there.
  17. Well, can’t blame the roster management for looking gassed on the first offensive play of the game.
  18. Panel all agree this game is a lock. Hate that, setting up a jinx.
  19. Confirmed. Toronto scored 70 and 60 in consecutive games in 1990. Calgary scored 62 and 58 in consecutive games in 1994.
  20. I can tell you it has certainly happened without looking it up. Don’t remember the exact totals but I think the Argos topped 60 in back-to-back games. Will look it up and confirm.
  21. Castillo should have been Grey Cup MVP in 2021.
  22. Just a reminder that Edmonton has traditionally played teams tough for the first half this year and then wilt in the second, so we should not panic if the game is not an early blowout (he said knowing that advice is like spitting into the wind once the GDT gets going).
  23. Lawler. If I’m going down in flames again, I’m taking all of you bastards with me!
  24. As far as best sitcom character, Kramer was a standout on a show full of hilarious characters, so I have to go with him. For guitar riff, the opening chords of “Layla” might be the most iconic (mindful of how tough and broad this question is and how personal any selection will be). As for a personal favourite that is probably not even thought of or severely underrated (mainly because in my mind the shift into the main body of the song falls right off after it) is the opening guitar lick of “Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress” (which Bryan Adams later copied to a large extent when he recorded “Run To You”).
  25. So we’ll try this question again, but I’ll throw out another new one for this week: What is your favourite (or in your mind the best) opening riff in rock music history?
