Iso any word in Calgary about the rumoured joint arena/stadium proposal for the Stamps/Flames of late? Or is that on the backburner with the drop in oil and probable huge deficit in Alberta? I've heard rumours that some kind of announcement is coming "soon", whatever that means. The word soon has been for a couple of years now. All 3 levels of government have said no to any kind of public funding & now with the provincial economy in the tank the Flames would be crazy to even consider that as an option. The primary Flames owner Murray Edwards is a billionaire & I've heard stories a new arena will be 100% privately funded by him but it will come at a price for fans. If you want season tickets to watch the Flames, rock concert, circus, pro lacrosse then you'll have to pay expensive individual seat licenses. If it's anything like the 49ers owners have done then I'm thinking maybe ten to 15 grand financed over a five year period for a decent seat. I also think the arena will be stand alone & no new stadium will be attached with the project. I'm just speculating here. Wow! That will be something if they go that route. As wealthy as Calgary is, I'm not sure they would find 17,000 or so folks willing to pay between 5,000 - 15,000 for seat licenses. Maybe a smaller amount for general seats but larger amounts (like the 5 - 15,000 you suggested) for club seats and suites? Maybe a tax on each ticket ($5) bought? Anyways, it will be interesting to see how things shake out. The economic forecast for oil and gas is grim for at least the next 3-5 years and if the alternate energy source called LENR lives up to its progress thus far, oil could become almost irelevant in value. That would't be all bad.

Good news as long as he doesn't retire. -

There are so many uncertainties that it must be insanely difficult for Walters to plan his roster for the upcoming season. If Billukidi or Mulumba show up, we would be happy, but if both somehow are here, we would be overjoyed, and all the roster plans go right out the window. Our needs remain the same: two, maybe three offesive linemen, a dominant pass rusher or two, one or two linebackers, a good canuck receiver, and a sturdy import receiver of the Denmark quality. -

Even though I thought he was very average last year I'm a little surprised that Desia Dunn isn't in our plans whatsoever. Janaury was atrocious last year and I have zero interest bringing him back in any capacity. January played hurt for most of the season, but it looks like he has passed his "best before" date. -
It's impossible to insult bagpipes.

Now, this guy ought to count for two roster spots.

2 Weeks to FA - Atomic Top 5 NI Free Agents

I hope not. Sisco has the same rep in Regina as Etienne had here, but with way more owies. -
We've finally found Mr. Wright. Hopefully he has the correct stuff.

The kid has to have the fire in the belly to reach even the CFL. My son was a pretty good hockey player when he was 8-12 years of age but he had no real desire to put in the time and effort to take the next step but a couple of his teammates who were not as good made it to the SJHL because they really wanted it. One even made it to the Regina Pats on grit and effort.

So you base your entire opinion of Baltimore on the show "The Wire"? I have been in Baltimore a couple of times, once for a week. It ain't a nice place.
-
No doubt he is already on the NFL radar, but I wouldn't want to pay his grocery bill.
-
Who would want to live in Baltimore? Its like Regina only with more people, drug dealers and drive-by shootings.

So if I say I hate the Riders does that make me a closet Rider fan? Oh no! No, I think despising Rider fans is OK.

Those who are homophobes are also likely to to be xenophobes, gynophobes, islamophobes and so forth. They usually have such a shaky sense of self-worth and ego-strength that they have to find someone to identify as lesser and therefore deserving of being victimized. Oddly enough, a high percentage of homophobes have homosexual tendencies that they cannot accept in themselves and externalize by attacking those who are openly homosexual. You can see this sort of thing in clergy who rail against promiscuity and get caught in compromising situations.

Competition? There's none left. There's still the draft and possible trades, all of which have gotten tighter.
-
Heenan going to the NFL, even if he doesn't stick, is bad news for us. It means that the competition for NI O-linemen is tighter than ever.
-
There's a good chance that we've seen the last of Mr.Heenan for awhile. Apparently the NFL have expanded their roster limits and team are scooping up anyone who has even a remote chance of making the roster.

For one thing, he will be able to use words of more than one syllable when he goes out into the community.

You're a bad person and I hate you. I can't bear to see any more of this. I'm going to hide in my cubby hole.

If there's one thing guaranteed to make a class of Canadian second-graders giggle, it's asking them the capital of Saskatchewan. And apparently, that works on fully-grown football fans too. After Seattle Seahawks' player Jon Ryan revealed at Super Bowl XLIX that his alma mater was the University of Regina, many viewers thought he had said "University of ******."

My feelings are hurt. I'm not good enough to argue with? Unfortunately you use just a tad bit of logic where it's hard to argue with you for being a Rider fan If you want to argue with a Rider fan on an equal basis, it will take at least 26oz of Johnny Walker or a prefrontal lobotomy,

Two ex Bombers factor BIG in NFC championship game

I see the irony in the ending of the game. Bigmouth Lynch could have been the hero but wasn't. I can imagine how his ego is suffering. -
But we're one day closer to spring than we were yesterday plus we've had a pretty decent winter so far, particularly compared to last winter.
-
I had high hopes for both Kuale and Kromah, but Kuale was a showboating bust and Kromah simply got lost most of the time.

Watson was very good, its just that his parts are not held together ery well.
