  1. The big problem we have is the stubbornness of coach(es) in using the same, obviously overmatched players again and again rather than giving potentially better players onto the field. It is not universal, as yet, but there is a growing lack of confidence in most of our coaching staff. If we here feel this way, the players must as well.
  2. Because O'Shea was a linebacker who didn't want his career to end. Those are big "ifs".
  3. He would have to try very hard for that to happen. Kolankowski's blocking technique consists of trying to get in the way of someone other than one of his guards.
  4. Remind yourself who the head coach is. Then it will all make sense.
  5. At this point, Eli just has to be as good as Kolankowski,(and that ought not to be too difficult) and he might just get to be better. Yeah- like that's gonna happen.
  6. It seems to me that playing center is a vital and demanding position- maybe even moreso than left tackle. We see how good/bad Kolankowski is and he has hit his ceiling long ago and ain't gonna get any better. Eli may or may not be the answer at center but until he plays the position in practice, and gets a decent amount of gametime, all we have is speculation.
  7. We've had Eli, a college all-star center for several years, and a Canadian-status to boot, but O'Shea is O'Shea.
  8. He may have been rusty or out of position, but I didn't see Vanterpool as exceptionally good at LT, and with an aging Big Stan, plus an increasingly brittle Collaros, that has to be a concern.
  9. You are not the only one who was (pleasantly) surprised by his performance.
  10. True but sad. Very sad.
  11. They better not- that would scare the prunes out of them,
  12. Like you weren't headed there anyways and have nothing to lose. There are persistent rumours out of the Big Smoke that Kelly is not responding to treatment and may be done for the year or longer. Or maybe he is just malingering- who knows?
  13. Except for his tendency to go for the flashy play instead of making the tackle or knockdown.
  14. With Collaros functioning im "limp home" performance mode, do you think that even Lawler would be thriving this year? Highly doubtful.
  15. As a counterpoint to your argument, the best game the team has played so far (by a long shot) was the first game when Collaros was suspended, and the quarterback was.....Streveler.
  16. That deliberate helmet-to-helmet hit warranted an ejection, fine and suspension.
  17. Doesn't seem to be much of a downgrade, though.
  18. But very, very satisfying. Pride goeth before the autumn.
  19. If that was literally true, that would result in a lot more female viewers.
  20. Sad to say, but Fajardo is better than Collaros and if he would agree to wear a gag when not behind center, I would take him over Collaros in a heartbeat.
  21. We may already have one, but with O'Shea and our current OC, we may never find out.
  22. But Big Stan is a rapidly depreciating asset.
  23. On a rare positive note: we now seem to have a solid safety and Tony Jones had his best game as a Bomber- he seems to be getting better.
