Plus oxygen tents and AEDs on every sideline.

The other western teams have made significant moves to strengthen themselves, whereas the Bombers have largely stood pat. Admittedly, whether those changes will bear fruit remains to be seen, but at the very least, they have acknowledged that last year wasn't good enough and have made changes. Yup- so far Calgary looks to be better (way better, thanks to Adams behind centre) and Edmonton looks to be a basket case. Becoming quite concerned about Schoen. He is hurt again, and not just nicked on a day-to-day basis and when he was in the lineup did not look anywhere as good as before his injury.

I suggest that they are more emotionally attached to their jobs as not only are their incomes dependent on them, but also their egos. And most, if not all pro athletes are ego- driven. That likely applies to the coaches as well.

Hope is a poor stratagem.

We have no reason to believe that the Bombers will be as good as or better than last year. Key players are older, more injury-prone and will take longer to heal. We have the same head coach with the same M.O. as before and we have been trending downward. Moreover, our off-season recruiting has been less than impressive. To top it all off, all the western teams are demonstrably better- with the possible exception of the Edmonton Ungulates.

With Geritol in the water bottles.

Talk is cheap. If he cannot beat out Kody Chase, that has to be a sad commentary.

0'Shea is making things a lot more difficult than it has to be- doesn't need any help from Calgary at all.

But not for long.

FTR: passing out beer at a wedding ceremony is a blatantly stupid idea for an ad.

Given our last game, we have little room for smugness.

Don't call him Shirley

This description is too close to ours for comfort.

And doubtful to last the game.

Nice to see that Yoshi has recovered from his injury.

Close call. As it should be.

A lot of Rider fans are from out of town and would not be attending today, having driven home late last night.

And he is going to retire as an occasional player so long as O'Shea is head coach and refusing to let him play some meaningful minutes.

I have been watching O'Shea. Last season and the two previous seasons he kept fielding sub-par players (like Kolankowski when Tui Eli was available and has LOST three consecutive Grey Cup games when they were emiinently winnable. Winning big in the regular season is all well and good, but it counts for squat in the post-season.
-
Have you been watching O'Shea's roster management?
-
No point in bringing in talent if they are not allowed to challenge and replace the existing players unless there is a catastrophic injury. That has to be frustrating for the scouting staff.

The problem is thast at the beginning of the week we are just guessing who the quaterbacks will be at week's end.

Brown was more than good enough to win. The RB defence soiled the linens.

If Collaros' inability to adapt to changing game situations is holding the team back, inevitably the team will lose confidence in him as a leader and key player. That will absolutely impact their committment and effort, and you can see that in any organization. If the coaches are ignoring this, the team's confidence in them will wither, producing the same result. So all this falls into the laps of both Wlters aqnd Miller. Gonna be an interesting season.
