It's not about numbers, it's about how they perform when put in a position where they need to be the star, and Adams has failed. The fact that this team can't win without Dressler in the lineup says everything we need to know about Adams ability to be the teams top receiver.

I had no problem with that gamble either..I like the call and normally we get it..I think we got a crappy spot too

I'm not saying Nichols is a ridiculously stellar QB, I'm just saying he's doing what is asked of him. LaPo's playcalling is for more short passes with longer sustained drives, then so be it.
1. Ottawa rushes alot: What? No they don't, they pass a lot. We run the ball a lot, we lead the league in rushing (2,103 yards on 375 attempts). OTT by comparison has just 1,453 yards (7th) on 296 attempts (6th). OTT doesn't run a lot, they rely exclusively on Powell, which is why he has such high rushing yardage. This just shows Powell is a good back.
2. Nichols compared to T. Harris - Nice cherry-picking here - OTT has the most pass attempts (575) in the league. Harris has 553 attempts compared to Nichols' 359 attempts. Of course he's going to have more yards per game (and overall) - he has 194 more passing attempts than Nichols this year. You throw more, you get more passing yards. Also, I find it funny in one breath you argue OTT rushes the ball lots, then talk about how good their passing offense is.
3. Streveler numbers - his numbers in 3 starts, let's take a closer look: his combined numbers over those starts are:
54/86 (62.7%) for 570 yards, 6 TDs, 2 INTs and 2 rushing TDs and no +300 yard games. Pretty impressive, until you consider half the stats he piled up include a 56-10 win over MTL (he was 22/28 for 246 - 3 TDs, 0 INTs). As for having more rushing TDs than Nichols - of course he does, he's our backup and runs the short yardage unit.
4. I don't think anyone will dispute Reilly is a better QB at the long ball, but he also leads the league in 20+ yard attempts that have been intercepted (10). PLAP is not calling deep balls. If he was calling deep balls we'd have more deep passing attempts, currently we are tied for last in the league in that category, and we've played one more game than some teams.
5. Scoring off Turnovers: Of course we have lots of points off turnovers. A good offense is better at scoring on short fields - and they're even better at it when they start in good field position.

That's kind of my point here, Nichols isn't ever going to get MVP or the passing title, but Reilly can have those. That's all he won in 2016 and 2017. He's done well in a system that's designed for him, and that system includes a heavy run offense that doesn't pass often. When it does, it's shorter, high completion passes that allow the offense to march down the field.
 

Why not give thompkins a chance to be that guy? He seems to have the athleticism.

Nichols was good in this game. You really have to remember that from the very get go it was clear that the Riders offence was not going to do much, they damned near threw a pick 6 on the first play and then the defense did get a score and the offense followed it up with the bomb to Adams, and then the next times they got into scoring range they put Streveler in for their change of pace and got TDs out of that. That does take away the potential for Nichols to pad the stats. 
The guy did what he needed to do. Didn't make any stupid throws, moved the ball a bit when he had to, showed some confidence and swagger and took a 31 point lead into half time, after which the Bombers just shut it down completely and took 0 risks knowing it was already in the bag.

Exactly. He's the fastest one out there which is all that route required. Lucky for us he caught it.

Except that Strevler's TD to Lankford was essentially a trick play on short yardage. Any QB could make that throw. Not hard to find the receiver with one DB out there.

Someone needs to tell those refs to let the play continue on close calls that could be turnovers. A couple of "incompletions" for Harris where the ball appeared to be a lateral and the potential fumble ruled incomplete in the 4th Q. Turnovers get automatic review so if it's close let the play continue and the let the command centre review it and get it right.

Good character game for this team..to control the game only to blow it at end...yet have the ability to overcome and win in O.T and not cave in is a good sign.
Also..T.O pretty much has to win out and we lose the rest of games to not cross over..dont see that happening and an Esks win and us beating sask next week really makes it interesting

1. Nichols - efficient game, no turnovers, how many second down conversions did he have to extend drive?
2. Harris - 160 yards from scrimmage, always grinding out extra yards.
3. Medlock - 6/6 FGs, solid punting
HH - Bighill for the strip tackle in OT

I'd rather our O tonight.  Ottawa relied a lot on favourable officiating to extend several drives and get some points on the board.  For instance a clear Harris lateral that was called a forward pass.  FG there.  Ellingson's "catch" on the last drive of the 4th.  Sinopoli's spot in OT and the JFG TD drive which gave OTT a full yard they didn't attain and allowed a 3rd down sneak which would have been a longer gamble, and Fogg's "stumble" aided by a pretty significant shot by JFG.
We rarely get those calls.  Time of possession is huge, and our O could have put up a couple more TD's to salt this one away early.

Ritchie Hall didn't call for a db to fall down. He didn't call for the refs to give generous spots. **** off with this nonsense. There's two teams out there, was a back and forth game and the Bombers won as they deserved to.

The redblacks had no answers for the bombers O all game. They scored in OT we still had a chance to beat them in mini game 2. The Bombers O was really good this game.

Some people are so committed to their biases they can't see what really happened. Lapo called a pretty good game, the D started rough but got a lot better and Ottawa made plays at the end to get to OT, but they needed 3 downs to do a lot of what they did. In the end the Bombers won a game they deserved to win and we all avoided a heart attack.
