No idea what the f*** has happened to Matt Nichols but it doesnt matter anymore. He plays scared, cant move the pocket, and cant hit receivers consistently. He's crippling the offense. The excuses are over. If the season is going to be salvaged, Steveler needs to be given a chance but MOS doesnt have the balls to do it. Nice job proving Rod Pederson right Nichols.

O-line is not as good and Nichols has zero escapability.  The poor passes are mostly on Nichols, not Lapo....never had a great long ball but it is worse this year.  Nichols has options on every play...it's not a set play to throw the ball 5 or 6 yards when the team needs 9.  He has options out there beyond the first down marker, but he either doesn't want to make those passes or he is incapable of it.

Funny reading that article a few days ago in which Hall said the defense was heading in the right direction.  Anytime the Bombers face a good QB it seems like an automatic 350+ passing yards given up by the defense.  Mitchell just set a personal record with over 450 passing yards.  Sure doesn't seem like it's heading in the right direction. 

So Nichols said he went through 4 or 5 reads and receivers were not open.  On the post game show they were going over the stats.  Nichols was 16-23 on passes of 5 yards or less and 4 of 11 on passes of 10 yards or more.  I think it is safe to say it isn't on lapo that the team is incapable of stringing together first downs thanks to the conservative passing.  Nichols is not capable at this point of finding an open receiver 10 yards down the field

Every team faces drops from their receivers yet they are still able to battle through it and post respectable numbers and win the game.  Look at Masoli the other day.  there were two times late in the game that a well-thrown pass went off the receivers facemask.  The receivers misjudged the throws.  The second one with the wide open receiver has particularly egregious.  Yet, on the very next play Masoli found another receiver for the TD.  Shortly after he marched his team down the field for the winning field goal.  When the receivers didn't come through in the clutch, he still managed to drive his team down the field.  At this point, nichols is playing so poorly that a few dropped balls breaks the offense.

I saw a ton of run plays on first and no play action today.  No fake end arounds or nothing to try and fake the defense out.
Trust me, Lapolice was putting Nichols in bad situations.

Nichols drop off in performance goes back to the last third or so of the 2017 season.  We are talking nearly a year at this point.  It's not the case of a QB having one or two average/poor games.
Let's see what happens over the next month.  If the poor performances continue, I suspect we have missed an opportunity in 2018 for a legit Grey Cup run.

Nichols mostly average/mediocre play extends back to the second half of last season.  Plenty of average games last year.  He was clearly outplayed by Rielly in last year's playoff game getting a good chunk of his passing yards in the final 11 minutes when the Bombers were down by 23 points to Edmonton (playing a prevent defense).
Nichols has not had one excellent game this year.  If the Bombers had an elite defense, they would have a shot at a Grey Cup with an average QB ie. 1990 Bomber team with Tom Burgess.  However, this game is yet another example that is not the case.  The defense is mediocre against everyone but the worst teams and will likely continue to be for the rest of the season with several weak spots (Fogg and Loffler) and a defensive coordinator who will not be fired until the end of the season...so Nichols will have to improve substantially for this team to have a shot at winning a playoff game.

Have a losing record for one? I mean, he's so far down the list of problems with this football team that I find this thread hyperbolic and stupid. And that's being polite. 
Im fine with criticizing Matt and don't think he's Joe Montana but get real. 

I watched a bit of RIng of Honor on TV a few months back.  I was impressed by the stage set up and the crowd - big screen where the wrestlers come out, good lighting and the crowd appeared to be a sellout.  Several thousand by the looks of it. I'm not sure as to the location of the show though.  I guess it's the number 2 wrestling promotion in North America now surpassing TNA?
 
Anyone know how long Kenny Omega is signed to New japan?  Earlier this year I seem to recall rumors of him fulfilling his contract and then either making the move to WWE or remaining in Japan.

Jim Barker would be a good choice imo assuming he wants to work there.

The old stadium without a doubt was a better location then the current one.
1. More centrally located - Polo Park area is closer to downtown than U of M
2. More vehicular routes to and from the immediate area surrounding the stadium - Canad Inns had Portage, route 90, Empress, St. James, Ellice, St. Matthews, Sargent, Ness, Silver while the new location has Pembina and that's it.
3. Parking options and distance to walk to stadium - Canad Inns had 1,000 spots right on the stadium sight (0 minute walk to stadium), over 5,000 at Polo Park (2 - 5 minute walk to stadium, tonnes of cheap parking lots along St. Matthews, St. James and route 90 with thousands of spots available (5 minute walk), lots of free street parking in St. James and the West End (7 - 10 minute walk) vs. 5,000 spots at U of M but most not right beside the stadium (1 - 10 minute walk), no street parking in adjoining neighborhoods as there is a ban, paid parking in various lots on along Chancellor Mathesson (MPI) and Pembina 20 -25 minute walk, and free parking in Waverley Heights and across the river (30 or minutes)
4. Restaurant options - not even close...there are several restaurants within a 5 - 7 minute walk of Canad Inns.  Hooters, Moxies, Movado's Perkins, Boston Pizza, Montana's, Tony Roma's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Earls, A&W, Wendy's, McDonalds, Tim Hortons plus a few others.  At Investors Group Field is there anything within a 5-minute walk?  Nope.  How about a 10-minute walk? Nope.  How about a 15- minute walk?  Maybe, if you are a fast walker.  20 minute walk?  Ok, finally at that point you have a few options like Five Guys, Sushi Jet, Tim Hortons, Kazoku, Wild Wings and Santa Lucia.  Nowhere near the selection of the old site and over twice the distance.  
I think these factors plus the perception of the hassle it is getting to stadium - even though this has been somewhat mitigated since the first season shitshow - and the increased cost to attend the game, has effected attendance.  Walk-up attendance has really been effected imo.  At the old site, I think the team could sell between 1,000-2,000 tickets the day before and day of the game if the team was doing well and the weather appeared to be good.  That is no longer the case at the new stadium.
