  1. I would say 2 of the plays were as you do described. The TD pass to Stafford was well executed by both players. The deflection to Williams and the missed hold on Watson''s play were more than fortunate for the Eskimos.
  2. How are we 6-7 in our last 13 at IGF? I thought we were 4-5 last year and 3-1 this year which equates to 7-6. Not what I want it to be but not a disaster. Edit: I see you said before last night's game. My bad.
  3. That thick mop of hair must have been a direct cause of the injuries. His legs just couldn't support the extra weight. Too bad it didn't turn out but I wish the best in his post football life.
  4. Not sure about that. I seem to recall hands to face being called every season I've been watching and I too have watched football for, over 40 years.
  5. A 2/1 TD/Int ratio is not horrible. Not great but not horrible either. It's the timing of his picks that are killing the Bombers this year.
  6. I agree. I think we have the personnel to be competitive in the west. Chicken **** coaching with the lead cost us this game.
  7. Lol. Ottawa finishes under .500 in a weak East, Bombers finish 11-7 in a tough West and that's what we have to strive for?!?! Credit Ottawa for getting hot when it counts but they are hardly a juggernaut as this season is proving.
  8. I was looking for comparisons to current WRs in the CFL and I kept coming back to Esk's WR Brandon Zylstra who has become incredibly productive. So I did some research and from a physical standpoint the two are very similar (pro day results): http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=1016742&draftyear=2016&genpos=WR http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=128487&draftyear=2017&genpos=WR Kind of a laugh - their respective team's CFL sites list them as 6.03 and 220 lbs but their pro day stats list them as 6.02 and 219 lbs. Zylstra signed with Esks on May 30, 2016 so he had a whole TC to go through and he wasn't put on the active roster until week 14. Using Zylstra as a model I wouldn't expect Wolitarsky to be on the Bombers active roster until well into the 2nd half of the season, and even then he would have to earn his reps playing ST's. I like JFG but he is someone I feel more comfortable with as a backup, so hopefully Wolitarsky can take a Nat WR spot down the road. He still has to learn the CFL game and earn his stripes but it gives him something to shoot for. One big advantage for Zylstra is QB play; Reilly is better than Nichols. Period.
  9. I don't think Kelly was the worst coach but he was a horrible GM. I think he traded away something like 8 draft picks in his short stint here. Also his public battles with the media and his anger management issues just embarrassed the Bombers completely. Did real damage to the Bomber brand, IMO. They had no choice but to dump him.
  10. How many weeks will he actually need before he sees some real game action?
  11. Good for Ambrosie. A Winnipegermakes it to Commissioner, should be good for boatloads of conspiracy theories on riderfans.
  12. Surprising! Good thing we signed a few WRs this offseason. I wish Ryan all the best I his new career.
  13. If this place was run like riderfans you'd be banned by now.
  14. If NFL interest doesn't materialize I'd like the Bombers to draft Geoff Gray. Could be a starting National at one of the OT spots down the road.
  15. With all these marvellous FA acquisitions by the Riders, I'm sure we can expect another 12-6 record prediction from Rod Pederson.
  16. Plus the fact that arrogant Kyle Shannahan went away from the running game once they had a big lead. The play call that led to Ryan's sack/fumble was curious to say the least. If you're going to pass, short quick routes would have been far safer. Leaving him in the pocket for an extended period of time (with the Pats clearly blitzing because they trailed), was just dumb.
  17. No. Went to visit a buddy and watch an NFL game.
  18. I was at the game last night and at least half of the announced 11185 were in Jet gear. in our row in section 119 I was one of 6 people.
  19. I was. Well this is embarrassing.
  20. So Riders are starting Mitch Gale, all but guaranteeing BC win. Thanks for nothin Chris Jones.
  21. Well I now have to cheer for the Riders two weeks in a row. I feel dirty.
  22. Might want to let riderstronson know on riderfans of the positive direction spearheaded by management. He believes signing O'Shea and Walters long term will doom the Bombers to mediocrity. No guarantees either way but the Bombers are showing positive signs and it is translating into wins.
  23. Not sure how they'll do,it but Rider fans will show this as evidence of a league wide conspiracy against their team.
  24. Bombers got fortunate with that fumble call no question. A lot of bad or missed calls that game. Dumb question: on that roughing the passer call on Westerman, wasn't he essentially tripped into Jennings? Didn't look like it was his fault, unless they felt he deliberately extended his roll into Jennings.
  25. I just went on blood pressure medication and the Bombers are doing their damnedest to put me in an early grave. They don't seem to want to win any games the easy way anymore. Think we got a lucky break on the Harris non-fumble but reffing tends to even out over time.
