  1. The team folded like a cheap tent in the games Willy got hurt. Very few stepped up throughout the season in the face of adversity. I would say that your assessment of the team being mentally weak was spot on.
  2. Or Duncan Keith who Morrisey is sometimes compared to (style of play).
  3. Well Bombers have looked decent in their wins, not world beaters but OK. In 6 of their 8 loses they have looked like the worst team in the league. Discounting the Willy injury I say they are as good as their record. if he says they are better than their record, that implies more talent than has been displayed, which falls to coaching as one of the culprits.
  4. Though not as exciting as Spenser Strasmore visiting Wpg, Bombers extend Bruce Johnson through 2018: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/bombers-sign-contract-extension-for-defensive-back-bruce-johnson-1.3236971
  5. True. I was being uncharacteristically pessimistic.
  6. Bombers will probably have the top 2 picks in the 2nd round.
  7. I would take this kind of post from you more seriously if you made the same excuses for Marve. You didn't. You chose to crap all over him instead.Because Marve played horribly last game. Broom didn't play great but he wasn't to blame for this loss.
  8. Totally agree. Let's see the Rider fans on this site defend any of that. What a bunch of disgusting clowns.
  9. There isn't one thing factual in this post. Not a blizzard but there was snow in nw Calgary and west in higher elevations.
  10. Punt return and turnovers killed us. Marve showed a lot of promise bit he's still got some things to learn. Thought MB called a better game. Wish he would have called screens when Willy was starting.
  11. i would place 70% of the blame on him. 20 on the line. 10 on willy. If you wanna really parse the numbers down lol Surprisingly, I agree with this.
  12. This is depressing, but not as depressing as reading some of the posts in this thread. The BB spent big money and draft picks in attempt to upgrade the oline. It hasn't worked out but the attempt was made. The coaches take some blame as well for scheme issues that contribute to the problem.
  13. Willy gives us a chance to win every game if healthy. Hes not perfect but certainly someone to build aroind. Certain posters have an agenda and wont acknowledge any info to the contrary.
  14. Another Rod Pedersen prediction goes down the shithole. Mind you this one was close.
  15. Very strong game from all 3 phases. Not saying the BB are Grey Cup material yet but certainly a plat off contender. And yeah I remember Sask fans saying they dumped Willy for batter player on Sunset.
  16. Brohm is a 31 year old career backup with no future. I don't get it. I'm not saying Brohm doesn't blame in the loss but those 2 int's weren't on him. Obvious PI not overturned and Richards Bbobbling a catchable ball. The whole team seemed to deflate when Will got hurt. Plenty of blame to go around.
  17. I'm not sure what interference is anymore if that isn't called.
  18. Could be. We may have a better idea by the end of the season. The last minute of the game felt Lapo-like. Could be. We may have a better idea by the end of the season. The last minute of the game felt Lapo-like.We've had too many LaPolice/Rheinbold/Burke moments of late and the scary thing is that Willy sure as spit looks like he is regressing.Willy is regressing? Jesus Christ I have seen some silly posts today but that takes the cake.
  19. Bombers actually played a decent game. Just some dumb decisions at wrong time. Generally I think the team is headed in the right direction.
  20. They did that last year against Hamilton at home too. I don't understand why no time out call.
  21. Bombers just found a way go throw this game away. Good game for them but some dumb mistakes killed them. Somebody better talk go Stoidemiere about when to search for a big return.
  22. Other than Jessica Alba there wasn't really anything watchable in those 2 movies.
  23. As far as movies go I didn't mind Man of Steel. But it pales in comparison to Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy which I consider the best "comic book" movies ever made. Would have been perfect if they didn't get Christian Bale to utter his Batman lines in such a bizarre tone/fashion. As far as this one goes I'll give Affleck a chance, though I'm not sold on him. More looking forward to Fantastic Four this summer.
  24. this was a tough one for me. I've been a fan of the redskins for over 40 years and have even defended the nickname in the past (there was an article posted a 'skins fan that documented the origin of the name and how it was a show of respect for native Americans). However, over the years enough Native groups have expressed their offence to the nickname and I have rethought my position. If enough of these people are offended by it maybe the name needs to go. I'm not sure the team's defence of the name and plans to appeal this decision aren't more related to jersey and other merchandise sales as opposed to defending their traditional nickname.
  25. Well, aren't we enlightened, so enlightened that you willingly jump on the Groupthink bandwagon whenever it's decided, somewhere, by someone, that something is offensive. I would hope others aren't just as willing to unquestioningly abandon everything they have seen and heard and believed growing up because someone tells us it is suddenly "bad". Always question authority, especially the authority of people telling you how you should think. Your comment about how we as a society need to learn to change things instead of clinging to traditions seems to be right out of Animal Farm. I agree with TUP that I don't really care about the Confederate flag or what it means to Southerners. I am from Winnipeg, so until someone starts telling me the Bison on our flag is some kind of racist symbol it really doesn't matter to me. What I don't get is the hysterical over-reaction including banning shows like the Dukes of Hazzard from TV, because someone might see the Confederate flag on the General Lee for 4.5 seconds per show. Who cares. It's ridiculous. That's just throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Dukes was a favorite show of an entire generation. I still remember that show being the highlight of my TV week (and that just goes to show what dreck was on in that era). The Dukes taught good morals, and right from wrong. Boss Hogg was the greedy bad guy, and the Dukes always out-smarted him, and made sure justice was served, despite the corrupt and crooked cops they had to deal with. We were taught greed was bad, and good always triumphs over evil. It's not like Uncle Jesse and Roscoe sat around the kitchen table dropping N-bombs and telling racist jokes. Far from it. Here's how I sum up political correctness: Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and promoted by mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of fecal matter by the clean end. for your information, I've long held the belief that the confederate flag is a racist symbol and over the years come to see the point of view over the Redskins name, despite my early resistance. I would hardly call that "groupthink" and you can drop the snarky attitude. I wouldn't call for a ban of "Dukes of Hazzard" as that would be going too far and it wasn't a racist show to my recollection. Banning the flag from officially flying at the state capital is more of what I mean, not banning every reference. My change comment was more directed at past practices that weren't thought of as racist at the time but in a new era where we consider peoples opinions who may have been the victim of these practices, they now may be considered inappropriate. things like the "sixties scoop" or residential schools - the confederate flag should be looked on in a new light. Quite frankly you don't have to be an ******* about it.
