  1. Haha wow, talk about arguing semantics! Okay then you explain... if you can't tell the difference. Let's say we lose to Calgary 28-27 this week... Person 1: well we were at least competitive in that game Person 2: we held up with the class of the league, this team is incredibly competitive... It's all perspective... that's all I'm saying i don't look upon it like that. Incredibly Competitive WERE the Ti Cats before Collaros got hurt coasting to the playoffs at full speed dismantling teams at home. Or the Stamps cruising along, maybe in close games but finding ways to win at the end. Competitive teams are those that win 1 lose 2 or win 2, lose 3 but are 8-10 or 9-9 at seasons end. We were 3-3 when Willy got hurt so we were competive. On any given day we could beat the best or lose to the worst. Willy gave us a chance to win every game but if people think we were good enough to hang with Hamilton or Calgary with Drew Willy before he was injured then they were wrong. ... we DID hang with Calgary. What part of that are you missing? Don't post often, but have to whole heartedly agree with this...in my opinion SHOULD have won IN Calgary, beat the Riders in Regina, and were down 4-3 at the half in Edmonton if I remember before Willy went out. That's a solid road showing in the first 3 games in tough places in my books. Also beat BC and MTL at home in that first 6 game stretch as well. That's a pretty darn good showing while Willy was the QB. The Hamilton game where he got hurt, they were already putting the boots us, but if everyone remembers, that was during a really hot stretch where they were killing everyone. Incredible or not, that's a level of competitive I can live with and appreciate.
  2. Starting to follow the team in 1991 when I was 11, and not the year before.
  3. A little late, but still in time to pick Andrew Harris I hope
  4. Best bet:http://www.reddit.com/r/CFL/comments/2aybpv/game_thread_edmonton_eskimos_30_winnipeg_blue/ If quality is not good try one at this site. http://www.wiziwig.tv/competition.php?part=sports&discipline=americanfootball Takes awhile to figure out which links are decoys. Don't download anything. Thx!
  5. Anyone know of anywhere I can stream tonight's game?
  6. Still couldn't find the games this weekend. Called Sirius and they said they weren't able to work out a new agreement with the CFL before the season started. Their intention is to carry the games, and they are close to an agreement I'm told, but until it's reached there won't be any CFL games on Sirius. Just for those who are wondering....
  7. Same here. Not sure I'd keep it if not. I'll try looking in the French stations and see if I can find it. Thx Zontar!
  8. I do a lot of road tripping in the summers, so a few years back I got Sirius radio so I could listen to CFL no matter where I was. Can't find it this year and any current info is difficult to find on their website. Anyone know if they are no longer carrying CFL games?
  9. Don't post very often, but do read the majority of what is posted on here. Gotta say, the site is great, and very much appreciate all of the work that's put in to creating a community for Bomber fans to go to to chat and read about the team. Well done everyone inlvolved...you're doing a fantastic job!
  10. Again...you're all missing the original point. What Makes John Murphy a better candidate than Kyle Walters? When was the last time John Murphy negotiated a trade? No I see your point. I agree that Murphy is no more prepared either. I'm just wondering how either of these guys is qualified to undertake the massive rebuild this team is going to go through. I'd feel better with someone more experienced overseeing it all, but it's not as though there are too many of those guys just lying around.
  11. As much as I don't mind at all what Walters has done so far, I was looking at his previous experience....04-05 Guelph DC, 06-09 Guelph HC, 10-12 Bombers STC, at which point he was promoted to AGM. Is there something I'm missing that qualifies him more? Outside of being AGM under an inexperienced GM in Mack, I don't see anything that would have made him a top choice at all.
  12. I used park and ride from the Downs for the first time on Friday. Took and hour to get to the stadium because Bishop was clogged at Waverly. Is this normal? Also, the bus back used the Perimeter instead which was much faster. Why not use it on the way to the game? Ill still use park and ride in future, but I'm wondering if my experience was the norm?
  13. That's a good point, but if it were obvious, I wonder if he could be fired with cause and the contract voided? It's not employment law, it's contract law. And CFL coaching contracts are guaranteed, as long as they're abided by. The judge asks, "Did you, or did you not contract this person, to this position, for this time frame?" The 2nd question is "Has he or has he not abided by the terms of the contract?" In other words, has he or has he not been the Head Coach for this period... not how well has he performed. Guaranteed contracts suck... performance doesn't even enter the equation. He gets paid whether he rocks or sucks. Deliberately tanking a team would be next-to-impossible to prove in court... so voiding is highly unlikely. Highly risky for us though... he can do a lot of damage as a dead-duck head coach. To our reputation, to the players, to their attitudes... to everything. Be sure that Wade Miller and Kyle Walters have a good thorough pulse on this, and will not hesitate to pull the plug if they think he's blowing up the ship before jumping overboard. Then yes that sucks. Thanks for the explanation though!
  14. That's a good point, but if it were obvious, I wonder if he could be fired with cause and the contract voided?
  15. Huh? He's the only person on the panel not making excuses for Burke and his downright poor decisions. Everything that happened after Edmonton's FG was crazy. Taking a kickoff makes zero sense. Edmonton isn't going to kick a ball that will be returnable, they aren't that stupid. All that is going to do is waste time, and possibly lead to a scramble for the ball with (shaky) Ford back there. Exact same thing I said about Palardy, I'll say about Goltz now. If you don't have any confidence in him to make a throw and play quarterback, cut him and put someone else in there. 23 seconds and 1 timeout= 3 plays and a kick attempt. Crime against humanity to take knees there. If they want a season ticket base above 15,000 next season, Burke can't be back. Ironically, I think Tim Burke would agree with you. Well maybe not the crime against humanity part. I really do believe in watching him he knows he's done, he wants to be done but can't bring himself to resign. Probably a mixture of his pride, management won't do it and a coach resigning during the season generally doesn't happen in the CFL so I'll hang on to the end of the year type mentaility. Pretty sure you forfeit your contract if you resign... as opposed to getting paid not to coach. Not much of a decision there This. I'm not making accusations or anything, but its crosses my mind that perhaps Burke knows he's a goner and has to a certain degree checked out, but wouldn't resign as it would let the Bombers off the hook for paying him. If they are going to let him go, I say demote him if possible, and if he doesn't want to do it, he can quit. At least then we aren't paying yet another coach to sit at home.
  16. And with our O line, does Ray even finish most games to give us a chance to win. I'm not sure he does.....
