I think if our defence plays like they did against Toronto we have a good shot at a home playoff game.

The thing is in the CFL it is unlikely we are out of the running until well past the trade deadline.

Suggesting otherwise flies in the face of what we know about human beings. Not everyone has the same strength/weaknesses. To suggest that some people aren't more prone to injuries would be suggesting we are all built equal. We are not. I am certainly not giving Dru Brown the injury prone designation, but I am saying with the type of injury and the way it was sustained, the Bombers need to proceed with caution until it is established this was just bad luck.

Sorry but there is such a thing as injury prone. Bad luck might be part of it but some guys are more durable than others. Anyone not worried about either of our top 2 guys staying healthy are fooling themselves. Brown missed half the season last year. That could very well be a one off, but it would be reckless to not have him re-establish his durability for the remainder of the season given his backup would be a guy not ready to be a starter. We literally pummeled Dinwiddie for doing the exact same thing guys are proposing we should do...and he had much more valid reasons to do it. We traded for Brown so we could have a deep and experienced QB room..now some guys want to blow it up and go right back to square one. SMH. Dont make decisions based on a potential injury? At most positions..yea...at QB to not do so is irresponsible roster management of the highest order. When TE is ready things can change, right now it would be one of the most reckless roster decisions we could make.

Moving out QBs for no apparent reason is horrid roster management. Anyone suggesting this but criticizing MOS for roster management have really lost the plot. For the first time in several years we have a 1A and a 1B. One is old but capable, the other is also capable but injury prone. Together our QBing is in a good place, apart we are going back to a first year backup. That would not be wise. Neither Collaros, nor Brown, should be trusted to play the full slate of games.

People suggesting this aren't thinking it through fully. Players both in our dressing room and around the league would view our franchise in a negative light. This is Zac's retirement tour, you dont treat the face of your franchise this entire decade like that. Would be doing him dirty.

It would be beyond stupid to trade ZC this year. He has basically stated this is his last year. Guys like Milt stating it just confirms it. It would weaken us at QB, and it would risk our dressing room chemistry. Just a dumb idea by fans who dont understand the over all impact it would have.

Randolph was terrible in TC and was cut for his efforts, or lack thereof. Not saying Bryant is playing great but Randolph would not have made us stronger. Time to start looking for a new OT tho.

Jenkins played his way off the roster. Simple as that. I suspect that one our IMP Lbers is close to that as well and that is why we dressed Hazen so he can get his feet wet. Sometimes today's roster move is more about next week or the week after. Everyone just wants to hand Smith/Shay a starting job and they haven't earned it. The irony is that we could do that and then people would ***** about too many NAT starters. The goal posts are consistently moving. This weeks goal post move comes courtesy of the 53rd roster spot. This game won't be decided by that move. We need our starting players to play well. They do that and the 53rd spot is completely irrelevant, they don't play well some of you guys are willing to give them a free pass and blame the 3rd backup IMP LBer for the loss. SMH. Crissakes you are mad because Jenkins isn't on the roster? My god, the guy was awful.

Where you are drafted at it 100% irrelevant. You place your weakest NAT starters at a place they can do the least damage if they are not up to snuff. We all THINK that Shay and Smith are blue chippers, but we don't know that. Fielding your best 24 does not follow draft rankings. PERIOD.

You guys sure like to make the bottom of the roster moves into something more than what they are. SMH. How about we talk about the one roster change that really matters. Dru Brown will be starting and that is the single biggest and most meaningful roster change we have. Is this another OSH blunder? Honestly, 4 years of bitching about who we dress in the 52nd and 53rd roster spot like it really matters. It doesnt. Nothing wrong with getting a look at a new guy. Our LBer crew has not been great. Not sure why everyone is against this move. It's needed. Some small picture thinking going on. Chances are he just plays teams this game as most young guys do in their first game. Dip a toe first, see what his in game compete level is. I get we want another receiver dressed and if we had a veteran that could come on and eat some of Cobb/Corcoran's snaps that would be ideal. Get to work Walters.

Of course every QB is a hit away from ending their season. Some QBs are way more likely to get hurt than others though and Brown, unfortunately, has shown that he is particularly vulnerable injury wise. Next year we may hand the team to him, and I'm OK with that because at that time TE will have had a full season and offseason of experience and work. I don't think having Brown as a starter with a first year pro as a backup would be very smart at all.

If Canada Shore girls had visited the Argos practice instead of the Lions the creeper would probably be in jail right now.

This league is too short on quality QBs. Look at Hamilton's situation right now as a prime example. I'm not against upgrading our team but we are in no position to do so. Brown has trouble being reliable and TE isn't ready yet. If Brown was durable, sure I would consider it....but I would feel very nervous about having Brown as our starter and TE as number 2. I am not at all confident in TE's ability to start, and no one else should be either. I like what he did last week, but as others have stated we won't win many games with that kind of offensive output over a season. His first start you gotta love it but he is a LONG way from being a starter in this league.

I think there are a number of QBs they would love to have and that Collaros would be a no brainer upgrade for them if he was available.

It would be monumentally stupid to trade Zac this year. The whole reason we went out and got Brown is that TE is not ready for prime time yet. I loved his gutsy performance last week but TE needs seasoning. Holding onto Zac is in our best interests this year. PERIOD. I agree that any decision to trade/sign/release players is 100% the GM's job. MOS's job is to use the talent he is provided to produce wins. That being said, there is no GM in the world that is going to trade his starting QB unless the HC is comfortable with him doing so. It would be monumentally stupid to trade ZC at any point this season unless TE suddenly shows that his game is ready to compete as a starter because Brown has been very injury prone the past few years.

We are probably not privy to a lot of the reasons such a decision might be made. In this case our opinions are uneducated. On the surface it should be a no-brainer that Brown starts. However, there could very well be reason we are unaware of why he might not. MOS will never divulge those reasons if there are any. That being said, I think Brown will start all things being equal.

There were some rumblings that DB may not have entered this year 100% healthy either. I can understand going with TE on a short week, but if ZC is out multiple weeks and we have not seen DB then I have to wonder if these rumors have legs.

Im not suggesting we don't start Brown, I am simply illustrating why the coaches might lean the other way on a short week. Not saying they will, but if they do it will be because of the reasons I illustrated not incompetence or favoritism. I think it would be fully ridiculous, if Elgersma gets the start, that anyone with half a noodle in their head, thinks it is due to favoritism, or incompetence. We are speculating as to Brown's readiness, the coaches are not. Like i stated, if Brown shows that he's not fully settled in yet, then to start TE on a short leash is not the worst idea. We traded for Brown to be our number 2. There is zero doubt about that from Walters down to the coaching staff, it's been clearly stated. However, timelines on where he is at are 100% speculation and I trust Condell to make the right decision. I'm not disagreeing with you. If Dru is ready that is definitely who should start. If he's not starting it's because the comfort level isn't there yet. I fully believe that the QB that the coaches believe will best lead our offence will start in this case. When ZC comes back....that's a different ball of wax because of our coaches attachment to him. I don't believe we will favor TE over DB right now. Hell we traded for DB because there was obviously some discomfort with TE as number 2.

The team is not even remotely the same as when he left, and we have zero clue as to where he is at with the playbook. Granted he did play in Condell's offence last year, but it would be foolish to think that the system Condell built for this team is the same as the one he ran in Ottawa. Similarities and philosophy...sure...but terminology and actual play design and progressions are definitely going to be different. By all accounts, Dru is a quick study and if he is comfortable and Condell is comfortable with his grasp of everything and the chemistry and timing are ready then start Dru. If not, then start TE on a short leash. I don't think that is unreasonable at all.

QBs are gold. I'm not trading anyone. Don't care who they offer. Like you have stated our QB room is crowded THIS year but quite likely thins out after. Having Brown and Elgersma is going to be important going forward. I would trade Collaros before either of them but at this time I'm not trading him. Love Dru but he has not shown the ability to stay on the field and Elgersma is too green to be our number 2 at this point. For this week's game I'm starting TE on a very short leash with plans to transition DB to starter should Collaros be out any significant amount of time.

We eked out a win without our starter and our backup taking his first ever snaps in the CFL. I do feel pretty good about it. You are right. However, let's take context into consideration shall we? We'd be pretty ignorant to think what we think would have happened would have been the outcome. We will never know, and at the end of the day this game goes in the win column. PERIOD. I'm not stoked by ugly football either but instead of poo pooing over a win in very tough circumstances let's thank the football gods for the win and move on. Will we need better than what we got next game? Probably. Will we get better? I think we will.
