  1. Their record last year speaks for itself as to what kind of impact they had. Garbage time yardage for the most part. Their production will drop if the Riders are more competitive this year.
  2. Yea but there was an interesting stat about Bane, that probably applies to the other receivers as well, that almost 70% of his yardage came in what is generally regarded as garbage time in a losing effort. Sometimes stats can be misleading. I'd like to see the overall passing yardage by Q for the Riders last year. Bad teams tend to have a higher than normal passing yardage in 4Q as teams go prevent to seal off wins. Any time you see 3 receivers near 1000 on a 6 win team a deeper dive into that stat is required imo.
  3. I'm not sure why we are even talking about the Rider offence? Their defence was a disaster last year and I don't see any significant moves there at all. But..but..but Thurman some will say. Sorry...just a younger Larry Dean. Lateral move at best. They have little talent on D and unless their recruitment knocks it out of the park they are going to be near the bottom of the CFL on D.
  4. The guy was the best ranked OL on the Riders by PFF last year playing LT. Playing beside an actually physically capable OG he might get the job done. He's no Yoshi, but then again Yoshi is unlikely to be Yoshi again.
  5. Lol..well it's football talk so it's still better than listening to my wife rehash her day. Lol Riders O should be better but their league worst defence? Not seeing much there.
  6. We need to add a different dynamic just to keep the opposing DCs on their toes. So yea..looking forward to that maybe.
  7. It's a safety net move. Therefore, yea....pretty meh. However, I don't mind him coming in and competing.
  8. Don't recall Teague at all? Who was he with?
  9. Maybe it was the Stamps I'm thinking of. 135k sounds more reasonable than 160. 160 would have put him I think as the 2nd highest receiver in FA last year. Can't see him turning it down for 85k here. That doesn't sound plausible, that double the money.
  10. Yea....really all of the Als receivers played lights out. He should have been picked half a dozen times if his receivers don't fight like junkyard dogs to prevent it and make the play.
  11. You aren't riveted to the edge of your seat by the Dolegala debate? lmao
  12. He is well above average in the CFL right now. If i called his arm strength exceptional than my bad, just a bad phrasing. Just saying he is not a noodle arm nor does he have below average arm strength as was originally suggested. The guy has a good arm. That is not his problem.
  13. Yea, I don't recall ever reading any type of offer in that range. I know the Riders made him an offer and he stayed instead but the difference was nowhere near that. I wanna say they offered him 125k iirc, but I could be wrong on that. However, I think if we are throwing 160k as a number I call that erroneous without a link.
  14. Honestly not much different than the Als last drive in the GC. Fajardo throwing up hopes and prayers. Only thing is lady luck smiled on him this time. That 50 yard completion to Mack was the flukiest thing I've witnessed. That is picked off 99 times out of a 100. Just a lame duck wobbler that was massively underthrown. Mack made an amazing play on that.
  15. Ceresna is a tough assignment for any OL, guy is a beast. If he turnstiles a guy making his first career start that should be expected and not held against the guy. Fair enough, but there is just by roster needs going to be a ton of camp competitions this year. This TC simply CAN'T be like last year, we don't have that luxury. I know a lot of guys are super on edge because we have a ton of open positions, not me, I love it....our recruiters time to shine and I have 100% faith that they will.
  16. I think you wanna have a vet coming in for these open positions even if it's just a measuring stick for coaches to use when evaluating the young guys. Last training camp we didn't really have any starting positions open.
  17. He was clearly putting touch on that throw. Actually a really nice throw.
  18. It was an interception almost definitely. The DB was cutting under him and the receiver had made zero effort to come back to the ball to prevent it. It's the Rider motto: Translated from latin this is the Riders motto: "Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory"
  19. Bishop and Brock are not fair comparisons for any QB. They were outliers. He does have above average arm strength. He has a live arm. That's not to say he uses that attribute well or often.
  20. It's not one scouting report, it's all of them, along with numerous coaches quotes, and articles from his time in the NFL and CFL all stating he has a cannon for an arm. Just telling you what virtually everyone in the football world says about him, You, of course, are entitled to your own opinion. https://leaderpost.com/sports/football/cfl/saskatchewan-roughriders/sports-col-davis-riders-qb-issue https://local12.com/sports/bengals/bengals-rookie-mini-camp-undrafted-qb-dolegala-shows-off-arm-strength-finley-struggles-cincinnati-ryan-jake-zac-taylor-jonah-williams-rodney-anderson-colton-schmidt-drew-kaser https://centralrecorder.org/67439/sports/jake-dolegalas-road-to-nfl/ Some articles detailing his arm strength including direct quotes from the Bengals scout that recruited him. I am not doubting what you saw, JD did not showcase his arm strength very much with the Riders however he does possess well above average arm strength.
  21. We will never know for sure, however, Collaros had a fantastic TC that year and looked like he was finally 100% before Simoni turned out the lights.
  22. Our OL coaching is the best in the league. If Lofton is the guy he will play well because our system maximizes each guys strengths and works hard to minimize their weaknesses. Playing next to Neufeld makes our RT spot a lot easier to play. There is a reason guys off the scrap heap excel here, and it is because our system allows them to do so. Not worried about one spot on the OL. We will be OK. Sask OL coaching and interior talent has been abysmal, and even competent OTs go there and find career death because of it. I'm not sure why everyone is assuming we brought in Lofton and have him pencilled into the starting lineup. Some FA grabs are for depth.
  23. The wheels fell off when ZC was no longer their QB. Yes, Cody took them to 13-5 but a healthy Collaros all season long may have gotten them a Grey Cup and then we all know what Cody did the year after.
  24. FA rarely tells us who will be better or worse in the upcoming season. FA winners have not been very good in the standings for many years now because without solid recruitment to go with that it is not a way to build a team. Toronto, BC, and the Bombers have taken hits in FA and I expect all 3 teams will be near the top of the standings.
  25. Yea....he's not going to set the world on fire or anything but an open camp competition needs bodies,
