We don't know what the outcome might have been if Zac and Bo were both healthy all game. I am just glad that we have the NAT QB we have and not the one that Hamilton has. Ford has had a few years and plenty of playing time, he just sucks. Elgersma is green as green can get and he managed our offence far better than Ford managed his.

I would think that Brown will be dressed next game. I think most playbooks are considerably cut down for backups league wide. The guy made his first start...of course you are going to give him a simple and short play book. We probably have a pared down playbook with Brown as well until he gets up to speed. This is normal when an inexperienced QB, or a new QB to a team, has to take the reigns. This is not a Bomber problem it just is what it is and is pretty universal when a guy takes his first snaps ever. I find it absolutely rich that we complain that MOS never gives his backups time to get some reps, then ***** after when those reps don't match the backup QB hype we have. Elgersma did a great job in his first start and the complaining on here about it is bizarre. He has been our number 2 out of camp and we rolled with him an extra week to get our new backup more comfortable. I don't see how this is an MOS character flaw as some here are making it out to be. It is very clear Elgersma requires more time for sure, and I am happy he got some reps so that he can work on his game.

Are you suggesting that Elgersma was a problem yesterday? in hindsight we probably should have rostered Brown but it isn't some egregious oversight to leave him off one more week to be fully immersed either. If Condell didn't think he was ready then who are we to argue.

Well Walters could bring in guys that can actually play instead. Roster construction is the least of our problems when there is nothing to choose from.

Not just, the guys on D are looking around at 5 guys running onto the field every play and wondering who is lining up where and they will never work as a unit when the unit is never the same for even 2 plays in a row. A big part of a defense is knowing what the guy next to you is doing and who has your back and who might need your help depending on what the offence throws at you. You have too many guys coming in and out it's really hard to get that chemistry

We need another stud IMP receiver one that is in the Mack, Lawler mould. 50/50 specialists who can stretch the field. This 3 NAT receiver group would be fine if we had an Emilus or someone of that ilk but we are rolling out scrubs as our third NAT. This won't work. Clercius is not the answer either. Time to give up this pipe dream of 3 NAT receivers. That being said our defence is a far greater problem right now. Our OL went to complete shyte after Neufeld went down, but I expect that to happen to some extent with in game injuries. Roster needs are to turn over every stone to get another IMP receiver that isn't just a place holder. Coaching needs are for JY to pull his head out of his ass or be fired. Let Richie take over. I was absolutely blown away by the number of times we went 3 man front but didn't have Ceresna out there. Can someone explain that to me?

Our Dbs are playing 12 yards off the ball, while we roll out 3 man fronts. The scheme is horrible. The best defence in the NFL couldn't make that work. Jordan Younger needs to fix this fast or be given a pink slip. We aren't getting to the QB, and are giving way too much cushion for any defence to be successful. Our run defence is atrocious but a lot of that is our alignment. If you are going to run 3 man fronts a lot you better bring out your beef LBers or today's CFL RBs will just run over them. Tony Jones needs to go back to MIKE, him at WIL makes zero sense and at least he is useful against the run at MIKE. Another problem is too many packages with too many players coming in and out, it is very hard to find any defensive success when we are subbing out multi players on every play. Guys aren't playing down hill because they are confused. That's on Younger, not on talent level. Nichols didn't suddenly forget how to cover etc.

I think the relationship probably broke down after the demotion. My guess is that Brown let it be known he wasn't happy and would welcome a trade. Dinwiddie probably was forced to trade him to keep his locker room from fracturing, which I strongly suspect was happening because probably most felt DB should be the starter. Thus the animosity. I'm really suprised that Dinwiddie seem to not have seen that coming. I truly think that Dinwiddie felt that he could demote Dru, a guy that most of the players went to war with the past 2 years, and that the locker room would just immediately respect his genius without having a doubt about the decision including Dru himself. When it became apparent that people both inside and outside his locker room were questioning the decision he felt compelled to make the subject go away. Not in and of itself a bad idea, but one that Dinwiddie should have seen coming a mile away.

The word Eskimo was one that the Dene people used to describe Inuit people. It was absolutely derogatory, as Dene and Inuit were almost always at war with each other. A friend of mine from Rankin Inlet told me that calling his people Eskimo is the equivalent to a white slave owner calling a black person the N word. That being said he also said that the term is really only offensive to him if it comes from a Dene person.

Dinwiddie stated that he wanted to go somewhere he controlled recruitment/player signings. I now have to wonder if his GM saved him from himself in Toronto. Dinwiddie may have had a lot of really bad ideas while HCing but was shut down by his GM. We'd probably see the same if MOS put on both hats.

I think he likes Maier because he signed him. Never underestimate how egotistical a GM/HC can be.

Pretty good rostering imo. Nothing to complain about here.

We've had a pretty big turnover in our D and they need to get comfortable. I'm not worried about our D at all. They will find their game.

Seems like Dinwiddie was hell bent on having his "own" guy, even if the guy he inherited was very capable, and just steam rolled Brown outta town. This very clearly wasn't a football decision. It was about Dinwiddie establishing that this is his team. This isn't the first or last time a GM/HC has come in and ran the old regime's QB out of town and it won't be the last. Mike Kelly did it in his first week. Chris Jones was another who did it. In fact, most GM/HCs seem to do it. Not sure why? It almost always bites them in the ass after though. I think the reason is to cut the cord completely from the old management/coaching regime and the QB is the roster player most connected. Just a theory though.

Dinwiddie's comments didn't come off like an honest assessment of Brown's skill. Brown is known for his great deep ball and that is the area that Dinwiddie chose to denigrate. Leads me to my theory that this was more of a personal decision than a football one with some shade thrown by Dinwiddie.

Our record after a bye over the past 8 years is actually quite impressive. Our record heading into a bye week...not so much. We are 19-6 coming off the bye since 2015, I think we are doing it right.

Maier has a better arm than Brown...who knows...maybe? You know who else has a better arm than Brown? CFL legends like Jake Dolegala, and who could forget "Heavy Balls Cornelius". If throwing great balls in practice was what mattered most then Dominique Davis would be the highest paid player in this league and Elgersma and Dolegala would be right behind him.

Would be opinion if it weren't factual. Streveler was not a good or accurate passer. That my friend can be seen in his stats, and game tape. That makes it fact, not opinion. Are you suggesting that the sole reason for Strev's awful passing stats are solely a function of his OC? That would be opinion and one that overlooks the fact that he would regularly miss his targets.

A big part of Strev's lack of success was his OC, a bigger part was that he couldn't hit the broad sign of a barn from 15 yards. That's not victim blaming that's just fact.

He honestly couldn't be worse than Streveler was last year. He like Strev are never going to worry opposing DC's greatly with their arm.

When did Dinwiddie watch Brown? In all zero of his starts there, or in preseason where he got virtually zero reps? The stats from, you know, his actual playing time as a starter say differently than your and Dinwiddie's assessment. I trust actual history over imagined. You stated he was the worst starter last year. He was injured, but his stat line projected over 18 games is better than the guy he is backing up right now. So let's not pretend he's not capable. That's an insult to everyone's intelligence around here. When healthy Dru is a quality starter in this league. Saying otherwise is nonsense and the stat lines back me up on that.

He is a starting calibre QB who played on a crap team. Anyone saying differently has not been watching.
