Rourke had 2 possessions to get a first down and likely salt away the game.  Goes 2 and out.  Saskatchewan inexplicably punts with 1:48 left after going 2 and out (even one BC First Down likely leaves too little time for Saskatchewan to march it down the field for a game-winning TD)....but BC goes 2 and out again...this after the running back gets 7 yards on first down.  Why not go back to Butler on second down instead of Rourke with a long second and three QB sneak?  Foolish playcall by Buck or was it Rourke?  First down leaves the Riders with 20 - 30 seconds left even if they get the ball back.  Even BC's defense could have likely held them to less than 75 yards in that situation.

Instead we get an awful collapse by the Benefeces' defense giving up 73 yards in like 40 seconds and that was the game.

Harris outplayed Rourke.  Never thought I would say that.

Change is probably needed but let's not kid ourselves that things can't get worse. All it takes is one bad hire to send us back to 4-14 land for half a decade.

It's pretty bad.  We don't have a single OL I'd rate as "good."  Canadian depth on O is basically a 29 year old tailback and a 32 year old receiver.
We're winning right now by 1 of 3 ways or a combination: elite special teams/D turning ball over or scoring points and basically shutting teams out, Collaros playing unconscious.  We don't have anything consistent on O going on almost 3 full seasons.  Our D is also crazy inconsistent.

I was looking at the 2021 CFL all stars. The Bombers dominated the west with 15 (4 this year for comparison) and the thing that is really crazy is we had 6 out of the 9 available spots on the O-Line and D-Line, and not a single player this year in either of those positions btw, it all starts with the complete overhaul in the trenches, to me there’s not a single starter that should feel 100 percent safe on both sides of the line except in my opinion Cam Lawson.

That’s just it. When the team was at its best, they had 2 very good co-ordinators and no less than 3 all star/HOF level players on each side of the ball, all around their prime.  (Biggie, WJ, BA, Jeffcoat on D. Andrew, Yoshi, Bryant, Lawler on O)
The team was primarily built through FA, with a lot of Ringmaiden-era holdovers making up the bulk of rest of the roster.

MOS has a lot of faults right now but really, unless the personnel department hits a bunch of home runs, it’s going to be a couple rough years no matter who’s coaching.
This is key as well, they screwed around soo much last offseason.

Coach who plays no favorites....Utilizes the best players available to him, as well as the rules afforded to him, and won't play hurt players.....A coach where you need to earn your starter spot AND maintain said spot with your play....or you get replaced...That's my coach

Oh, I'm fine with MOS back if he fires Hogan and gets a real OC and he starts saying bye bye to the aging vets. I get frustrated by him but appreciate the 9 straight 10+win seasons, 2 cup wins etc. Honestly a little worried about who we would replace him with. Yeah so basically I just want Miller to kick MOS and KW in the ass, light a fire and then improvements.

I'm not 100% opposed to OSH returning if he can show that he can make changes needed.
If he can't recognize that Hogan was a mistake and wants to keep continuity there, then I think OSH should be shown the door.
Hamilton's column in the Freep today talked about why he didn't think OSH would go to Toronto. Basically saying that OSH wouldn't want to be in an environment where he had to make lots of changes and couldn't keep with continuity. Good description of OSH but also good reasons why we need to move on here.

That would work with me in all honesty....nothing wrong at all in that scenario
Osh has had 4 chances since 2021....and his decision in Hogan was the cherry on top of the shitsundae on how he goes about things...Players...coaches....
If we run it back as is.....we know a good majority of the less than stellar giys will be back....positions given...not earned....no deviation from anything if not working or optimal....insistence no to use all the rules afforded to us.....so yeah peob a write-off...casue in all honesty, why would we expect anything different??
Factor in other teams working to be better....Hi there 5th place

I see nothing to suggest Hogan is going to improve and if you keep him, I bet Brady leaves and possibly others too.

IF.....Osh left, which I think is not likely, but hypothetically, JY as HC with Bowman as DC, Hall still advising defence asst. coaching, and Lapo as OC.....deep experience in Lapo and Hall up and comers in JY and Bowman.....possibly even AH as Rb and offensive asst. to work with Lapo again provided young new blood, and a connection to the young guys......other assistants stay.....Walters stays, and puts key focus on the lines.....

Just rewatched the end of the game l because I am an idiiot.
Around four and a half minutes left, down by 6. The D gets a huge stop. Vaval gets a decent return, helped by a penalty. Offense takes over at the 45 with just over 4 minutes to go.
What do they do? Throw away under pressure with no receivers in the same zip code, and a two yard pass to Wheatfall. Punt.
    Fire Hogan.

You can bring the coach and gm back again, but they need to make significant changes to the roster... I have my doubts that osh can change that aspect because he's been stubborn about fielding the best roster possible his entire time here.

Thomas and Willie need to be cut immediately on D to have any hope for next year. Kolankowski also.
There's a lot more but those 3 are huge liabilities that need to go.

unfortunately, I think these changes will only happen if it’s reactionary. If one decides to leave for another job we will make change.
Otherwise I could all too easily see us running it back with walters mos and zach.
I do think it could be possible that they fix their problems together. but boy would I not bet a year on it. We will know this off season though. if we see them stay and bring back the usual suspects of wj, jake, kyrie, kola etc, it’s hopeless.
last year was soft af too

Remember when we had the toughest team out there and just beat teams up on the way to wins? That was awesome... this year though just soft soft soft play all around.

I mean this sincerely, but why? This was such a foregone conclusion, I can't honestly remember the time I was less upset about any Bomber loss.

Agreed... But at the same time he's 11-0 as a starter.  So you got to give him some props and let him have his moment.

that’s been the biggest fear for several of us on here for a few years. We’ve watched this contemptuous back slide into mediocrity and scream no don’t! while being told it’s all fine. Only for exactly what was predicted to transpire.
The 22 forward bombers are the most frustrating sporting team i’ve followed since reinbolds days.
Hubristic contempt that has driven a dynasty into the ******* ground.
true. all i saw was him running across the field to shake mos’ hand and mos being half way to the tunnel being shocked by it

So, Brady rushes for 1100 plus yards & he's in his prime... You want to cut or trade him? Bit of an overreaction, I'd say. If you're going to cut someone then cut Hogan who totally underutilized him this season. The problem is Hogan & not Oliveira.

Come on.  Maybe it was the 17-0 first quarter?  The fumble was at a bad time, for sure, but come on.
