Do or Die Detailed Half Time Report...
rebusrankin replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I agree with Iso, would rather have the first rounder and the shot at another top OL prospect. -
What does Wild sign for $150,000? $180,000? That's only $75000-$90000 pro rated.
-
Wow. Expected Chamblin this week after yesterday but still WOW. I was hoping we'd get two games with Chamblin and he'd bungled one to us.
-
Sign Wild, cut whomever you need to.

What do you base that opinion on? What do you base that opinion on? I should have explained better. When they balanced their budgets, the Liberals took money that was surplus from the federal civil servants pension fund. It helped them balance their budget. Now I think its unlikely, JT does this but I could see it. It fits his class warfare message.

We need to hire a quality OC and a quality QB coach. Frankly we need better scouting. Walters has to be on the hot seat too. He's great at free agency or getting players and signing them right before free agency (Willy, Randle, Westerman, Bryant, Moore, D.Adams), his drafting is hard to say, american scouting needs work (see two years of poor recruiting at receiver and on the DL).

Wild at OLB and Bass at MLB? Lemon at DE? That could help us win games 12-9.
-
The Liberals did balance the budget under Chretien/Martin, not sure Trudeau will do the same. I'm not sure he'd cut 20 billion from healthcare and social services at they did (1995 budget that was the cut on the Canada Health and Social Transfer). He may take from Federal Civil Servants Pension fund. I do think we'd be better off with the Liberals and Conservatives as the two dominant parties

One republican candidate wants to build a wall on the Canadian/US border to keep out terrorists.

Bombers Season Officially over time of death...
rebusrankin replied to sportmentary2012's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
My Barista told me that its a season ending injury. Then again, my neighbour's wife's cousin's florist says 2.5 months. -
and blowing your wad in the good times and tightening your belt in bad times work better? They plan is far from identical to what happened in Ontario. To answer the first question, no it is not. On the second, his plans borrow heavily from Ontario, right down to the same advisers.

It's time for the Riders to start sucking ...
rebusrankin replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I do. Who doesn't enjoy the Riders losing? -
Did I say most governments don't run deficits in recessions? Nope. I am aware of counter-cyclical budgetary policy. All I said was I don't think spending your way out of a recession works. Trudeau is following the exact plan the Liberals have followed in Ontario and that has lead to the highest sub sovereign debt in North America, higher energy costs and the economic engine of Canada becoming a have not province. They've also added 130 billion in debt to Ontario's totals. Can you explain why it will work better at the national level? For the record, I can see the value in spending more on roads, bridges etc. Trudeau isn't just counting that as infrastructure though, he's also counting green infrastructure and social infrastructure in his plan. I don't agree with that.

Week 10 Aug 30 Sask@Ott. (Tor 15 Edm. 38)
rebusrankin replied to Mr Dee's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Please let us win the next two. We can lose the rest after that. -
So JBR, the short version is we are hooped because we lack a QB who can make basic plays?
-
Does Justin really have a better plan? Heavy borrowing and a focus on Green energy is what the Liberals did in Ontario, which results in extremely high levels of debt, several spending scandals (Gas plants, Ornge, E-health), high energy costs for both businesses and citizens and businesses leaving or refusing to expand. I don't think you can spend your way out of recession which seems to be his goal. It didn't work in the UK in the 1970s, France in the 1980s and Japan in the 1990s to name 3, why will it work here?

Doug Brown stated on the post game last night that Winnipeg needs to switch to a run heavy offense. Makes sense. So MB's refusal to do so is that 1. An inability to design such an offense? 2. An OL that can't run block? 3. Pitiful Running Backs? 4. All of the above

What worries me is if they fire MOS, they'd give the job to Marcel and then give him a few years.
-
I thought this was a prediction on what the opposition was going to do to us.
-
In two years, Walters has found Veltung at receiver. Toronto brought in Gurley, Elliot, Spencer and Hazleton this year. Just something to consider

How about we give John Murphy a guaranteed large $ deal to be GM and let him hire and experienced coach?

Fast Forwarding / Skipping games on PVR
rebusrankin replied to Brandon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think the baseline for attendance is 20,000-21,000 since that is what we usually got in 97 and 98. I see that coming next year so likely a few thousand less ST holders. -
Right now, we have the worst QBs no question. JBR raises a good point though, I think the playcalling hurts but watching Marve I wondered if he's able to make anything beyond a 5-7 yard pass.

Fast Forwarding / Skipping games on PVR

This is year 16 of season tickets and I more and more I keep thinking why do I care so much about this team? Games are not fun. I think the first 4 years I had Season tickets we were 28-8 at home and exciting (Khari-Milt-Roberts-Bruce-Sellers-Gordon). I worry most about the young fans. I grew up in the 80's and 90s. -
