  1. Yeah, it seems MB will be here 'til year's end as MOS just said there will be player changes - Matt Nichols will start, and some minor "philosophy" adjustments. Marcel alone, calls the plays. And, keep coaching the players to make running the ball easier and better. That's the plan.
  2. I see it's been mentioned that if we fire MB, we would only have in house staff to run MB's so called offence. So, what's the problem? I find it hard to believe we couldn't run a more varied offence with, say Buck's involvement, or even Drew, now that he's on the sidelines, or a combination of Cheech and Chong. Because honestly, how can an offence get much worse?
  3. Just fed that idea about hiring MB as the HC in my stupid-o-meter....and it exploded. So no, when Marcel is handed his walking papers (probably up the middle or a short flare out) that's the last time I want those initials associated withe WFC, unless it's an abbrev. for Manitoba.
  4. What? What a bass-ackward statement to make. That offence did.......nothing.
  5. Can't end this talk about the game without a mention of who did play their game well. Westerman Collins Peach Randle Hurl Johnson Brohm (if only we had a proper game plan) 21-26 184 yards Nick Moore Darwin Adams If only we had a proper game plan.
  6. Honestly, in this thread about firing MB, the common theme revolves around the fact that we may never know what kind of offence we truly do have while Marcel is still employed as OC. Can we comment on the play of such and such, when he has no chance in this offence? It is, by far, the most high-schoolish offence in the CFL. We truly, could not do worse, if he was gone tomorrow.
  7. Yeah the D was frustrated because they got no help. Bellefool called a game like he was afraid. Wasn't until things were out of hand he let Brohm even try a throw longer than 3yards. Guy might be a poor qb but when you coach like he's a poor qb you just make it easier to defend and suck the life out of your own team MB gave Brohm no chance to win this game. The one pass to Moore that Brohm zinged over the middle showed that we have plays like that in the book, but you're right, he called a don't-step-on-the-booby-trap-type game, which was getting us nowhere. Fraidy-cat Bellefeuille called nothing over 10-15 yards. Pathetic, really.
  8. Oh, so penalties...that help a team succeed...shouldn't be taken into consideration? So like if the Riders didn't get caught cheating, it would have been OK? Hilarious argument there.
  9. If you're going to quote their record...quote all of it. 10-18.
  10. And exactly which others of the 17 losses Bombers have recorded since starting 5-1 in 2014 would be Brian Brohm's fault? Why are you excluding the 5-1 start? Are they not part of the 2014 season? But I don't get your point. I'm talking about yesterday's game, and Brohm's involvement in that one game. What are you talking about?
  11. The defence didn't make any plays, they are just as culpable as the offense and special teams for the loss. The defence made enough plays to give the offence a fighting chance. Problem is...there was no offence to give the defence a fighting chance. Who forced the 1st turnover? The defence. Who held the Sask offence to 2 FGs in the 1st half? Guess. Did the defence not stop the Riders to kick in the 3rd quarter, only to have the STs give the ball back? Did the defence fumble on the 22 yard line and give the Riders an easy TD? Did the defence call an absolutely terrible pass completion to an out-of-bounds rider at the 1 yard line? The defence was guilty of a penalty-aided drive that resulted in a TD...that was started by the contacting the kicker penalty. I don't blame the defence one iota for that ****-show...just the play calling.
  12. All you guys bashing Brohm in this thread are in the wrong thread. He is not the villain in this piece. He still must go, but it wasn't his fault we lost that game. Go to the Bellefeuille thread, there you'll see the problem.
  13. There was nothing more for the defence to have done. They need the offence to DO something. You cannot keep making plays on defence when nothing is happening on the other side of the ball.
  14. Brohm, alas I can't even blame anything on Brohm yesterday. He was a non-factor. He was made a non-factor by the horrible offensive game plan.
  15. We simply are not going to win a football game by using the same plays over and over again. The. 5-6 plays that the entire league knows we're running, might fly in high school but it is an embarrassment for a professional team. For gawd's sake, give your QB a chance to win th freeking game!! Broom didn't do anything wrong in this ultra passive package and if given more to work with, might have been able to actually move the ball downfield. What did we throw? One pass at 15 yards? Pathetic. I never advocated this before, but Marcel Bellefeuille is simply smothering this team, and has to go. We had no chance because we had a pathetic game plan that was designed to keep a game close....if we were actually winning. No killer instincts. No downfield passes. No imagination. No chance. It all leads to..... No Bellefeuille.
  16. I see, we just play with 2 less players overall...leave those positions blank. Well, there is a certain logic to that. The "il" logic.
  17. Well, we don't know the reason Lemon didn't sign with us, now do we? By the way, the money we saved by not getting Lemon, is on the table now.. They would saved some monies by not paying Picard and Hurl's salary, but they still would have to pay 2 starters at those positions in any event, so the savings would be less, and at least one of them would have to be an NI, so there's that. And... Penton, who even knows more than CapGeek, says the Bombers have lots of cap space remaining, and are pursuing Muamba.
  18. Glen Suitor? Has he coached in any capacity at the pro level since retiring? No, but if you've listened to Glen Suitor, he has the uncanny ability to know what the players are saying to each other, or even what they're thinking after each play. All this from hundreds of yards away from the playing field. What better trait could you have for coaching if not this super-human ability?
  19. ❓❓ Yeah, the string of names, like the Bombers?, is listless.
  20. Suddenly, the losing out on the Lemon signing doesn't seem so dire any longer..
  21. Why isn't there the possibility that this whole defensive philosophy of NI pieces in our defence having been planned with the possible return of Henoc?
  22. This is a very telling stat offered up by Ed Tait. Mistakes have been absolutely critical for the Bombers this season -- 19 giveaways is middle of the pack in the CFL, but the 93 points from those turnovers is by far the worst in the league, 23 more than Edmonton......which has turned the ball over 10 more times than Winnipeg. Offered up by Darvin Adams - "You can't blink your eye on us," said Adams. (referring to himself and the speedy Walker) "We've got a whole bunch of playmakers from our O-line, to the receivers, to the running backs to our quarterbacks. We have a whole bunch of faith in our guys, no matter who it is. We're ready. Everybody can make plays."
  23. You mean there was a first time? Lucky for us, there are so many knowledgable posters who can tell the difference...
  24. I prefer to look at every game as an opportunity for a win, whether I'm playing in it or watching it. I prefer not to take the defeatist attitude, but you and the OP, and a few others, are welcome to revel in it. I'm fully aware of what has happened in the past, but you know what…I don't care about those games..in the past. Tomorrow's game brings the promise of change and a victory, by any means. Am i setting myself up for disappointment? Possibly..but it doesn't matter, I'm a big boy..I can handle it. Go Blue
