Sometimes a decision made in the boardroom doesn’t translate well onto the field. This is one of those times... poor decision.

Nichols is only adequate. Down after down, he is predictable. Changing him up, now and then with Streveler, increases his effectiveness. When the Coaching staff finally realizes we can use BOTH QBs, this team will have reached a higher level. Do it.

Streveler isn’t the answer right now at QB, but he is part of the solution. He’s a weapon, an asset, but he has to be used. He has to be inserted into the lineup if only to give extra pause on what’s going to happen on the next play. It’s no different than inserting a gifted receiver. The opposing defence must pay attention to him, thereby opening the door for a more varied offence. Use him.

The HH award must go to the recognition of installing Streveler at QB. Not because he is the better QB, but rather because Streveler was better suited to that situation, at that time, to get first downs. Something we’ve failed to do at the end of most of our games. We simply must close off games better than we have been doing and that means using all our personnel to get the desired results. Finally, we did that.

Bombers Field Position Edge: In 2019 games where Winnipeg has had a better average starting field position they are 5-0. However, the Bombers are 0-1 when having poorer field position (as they did last week). Since 2018, they are 13-4 when having a better average starting point and 2-5 when they have not. It goes without saying Position is important.

Justin Medlock has now made 82 consecutive converts from the 32-yard distance - a CFL record for this new placement spot. Here’s hoping he adds at least another 5 tonight.

I can practically see the anticipation and excitement building for debut of 1st round pick Jonathan Kongbo. Winnipeg football fans love this kind of story, especially since it involves a Bomber player. I also can see possible marketing opportunity for the Winnipeg Football Club to take advantage of this excitement. Mini conga drums. Or rather, mini Kongbo drums, to add even more to the Winnipeg home game experience when we’re on Defence.
