  1. liberals and ndp aren't socialist though...in the same way the PC's aren't actually free market capitalists. Also, everyone hates socialism until they need the cops/hospitals etc. And on the flip side, everyone hates capitalism until they want new technology or more income. Both have played a large role in your life whether you like it or not. Stop being ignorant and understand that there are nuances in everything.
  2. Guys, listen...he's been to one CFL game...pretty sure he has a handle on it.
  3. Ambroise is just sticking to the script. Anyone who expects him to say otherwise isn't living in reality.
  4. maybe sour grapes for not getting a shot at an interview for the SSK HC?
  5. I can see that. But to clarify. He never mentioned the CFL wasnt real football. He just talked about how he was getting back (aaf) to football that he was familiar with. He wouldn't have to relearn the game etc. I think overall his time here was a success more for the CFL then Manziel. Got press, lots of it. And showed (once again) the CFL is the real deal and you had better be humble, or you're gonna look foolish.
  6. I'm no fan. But I gotta question all the hate for him. Why? He came up here with his big ego, had his ass handed to him, and went limping home. While he was here, he got the CFL a lot of coverage, both with his on and off field antics. He helped prove that the CFL is no joke and you better be able to read a play book/conduct yourself like a pro....or you'll become a laughing stock.
  7. Ah yes, the "The NFL is bigger then the CFL in Canada " argument.
  8. No he was released before the season. Haven't heard anything about him since.
  9. I personally won't go to the game. But I don't have an issue with it being held here. Assuming there's some kind of compensation to the organization.
  10. I honestly don't see anything wrong or insulting about what he is saying. He's just admitting to not being able to grasp fairly simple rule changes. And this is likely because he didn't put in the work...sorry, it's absolutely because he didn't put in the work. Now he's going back to a game he knows extremely well. And I honestly think Johnny is going to get back to "star" status in the AAFL, mostly due to the QB protection they have there. What are his strengths? Creating time, moving out of the pocket and getting away from pressure. He won't have nearly as much pressure to escape, not even on par with what he faced in college. He'll do very well in that league, get an invite to the NFL again and flop once he has to play real football.
  11. I think they're going to dominate the first 3rd/half of the season. But won't have the same success later in the year.
  12. Yeah I'm sure the owners would love for their stadiums to all be left out of the profits that come with a grey cup lol...he must be taking advantage of the weed stores in CGY. Seeing Johnny football might get a chance to play asap. I think he is going to light that league up honestly. His biggest issue was reading a defense with pressure in his face...considering they can only rush 5 (lol) in the Aaf, he should be fine.
  13. To be fair he was talking to Foley, who is just as equally a joke.
  14. I used to say I'd be signing my kid up for football as soon as I could. Now, with the information that's out there. He won't be playing until at least high school. Until he can fully understand the consequences and risks involved to his future self. Also, I'd much prefer he play baseball or golf... Now those guys got it figured out!!
  15. Except, the ratio as it stands now, forces teams to give players who in all reality wouldn't be playing pro football, starting salaries. Or at the very least higher then the league minimum salaries, when the league minimum is what they should be making, at best. There will be players left out, but again, not a lot. Would Harris have gotten a shot with a 5 player ratio? Probably, wasnt he backing up a cnd rb? Now, if there was zero ratio...likely not. But this isnt getting rid of the ratio. Its allowing teams to remove the 2 worst Canadians on their team...not the 2 worst starters. Just the 2 worst canadians. The 2 worst starters will likely just become back ups. Adding to the talent depth. On the flip side, maybe the bombers could have kept a player like Montgomery if they weren't forced to use a spot on a player like Thomas. I love Thomas...but it's clear he isn't in the same talent pool as his American teammates. Taking 2 players off the field who likely dont deserve to be there anyway, won't do anything but improve the game.
  16. My thoughts too. I like the ratio as much as anyone. But this will improve the depth of every team. The best players will still play. Imagine if the Bombers weren't forced to play Sam Hurl all those years? Or Brock Ralph? Does anyone really believe the league would be worse off without those type of players?
  17. But wasn't he put on a similar list for the Lions? I seem to remember something about him being involved with some system like this.
  18. Couture ready? - I think a lot of people down play the amount of in game time he saw last year. He played, a lot, and played well. The bigger question for me is who wins, Gray or Foketi?
  19. I don't know about top 2....definitely top 4 though.
  20. Again, this can't be true. I have it on good authority via members of this forum that Ambroise is ignoring the PA.
  21. I went to the game when it was here a couple years ago. I gotta say, for the amount I paid then, I would have had a better time at home. It didn't help that the game was played by two teams I don't like, but even the half time/pre/post entertainment wasn't good. At the rate these prices are going I won't ever be going to another one, unless the bombers are playing for it in WPG. Otherwise, I can spend half as much and have double the fun with friends and family at home. CFL needs to start seeing that if they are charging these prices, the game (not the week) day experience needs to be improve dramatically.
  22. Keep in mind, this was the same agent who gave the Ticats a dead line for offering him a contract. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to spin it that Johnny cancelled the contract....saying that. The source seems to be less then legit. My thought is, Johnny smoked some weed or drank or quit a mandatory course etc etc etc....to purposely void his agreement, knowing the league would force MTL to do this. I don't think it's a coincidence that he was just talking about how interesting the AAF is, now he's no longer under contract....seems fishy.
