100%. Lots of talk about how apparently people arent watching because of odd little rules here and there...no talk (outside of 1 announcement near the GC) of focusing on grassroots building. Im sure the Bombers and Riders heavy involvement in amateur football has little to nothing to do with their ticket sales. Of course winning helps as well, but kids I coach arent Bomber fans because they love the rules of the CFL. For the record, we're about to enter our 2nd season of NFL flag football. Bombers sponsor 3 of 4 seasons. NFL does the other. Not a peep from the CFL.

I'm fine with Logan being cut regardless of what happens with Vaval. Logan looked slow last year in his (granted) few attempts. I don't mind another competition there.

That's my worry about Eli. We've seen guys with less talent start over others for a hand full of games...if not entire seasons. But usually if both are still around there is a switch starting the next year. Eli has been here for 5 or 6 seasons now...? That's hard to over look. However, he has also been very good as the 6th man. So there's that to consider as well.

Im not sure it would draw that much interest...there are so many Americans. How do you decide who goes #1? How do you ensure the guy who goes #1 actually wants to come? How do you decide who is able to be drafted at all? It would be weird to put effort into a draft only to have a bunch of guys get cut. I just dont see how it be anything but a gimmick. The football world is incredibly more dynamic than it was in the 60's/70's.

Its a pointless guess...fun to think about but thats about all. Its the same as putting out power rankings this time of year.

For me it's not about $$ it's about finding that absolute force in the middle. Sayles reminds me of Vega. He's above average but not someone who is going to be dominate game in and game out. I wouldn't be disappointed if the Bombers signed Sayles, but I wouldn't want to place all my hope in him turning around the DL....if that makes sense.

Wasn't Sayles a Bomber find in the last 4 years? Woods/Fox/Adams have all been solid but suffered from lack of playing imo.

Dinwiddie is well known for being an elite CFL quarterback of course. And lets not forget the incredible play of Danny Maciocia, who's play undoubtably propelled him to his first CFL HC gig. I won't even begin to mention Scott Milanovichs fantastic career as an NFL QB where he completed 66.6 percent of his passes for a total of 9 yards.

If we're relying on guys who need to learn how different pass rush moves work, I'd suggest that's a scouting problem more than a coaching one. Guys are learning those techniques in Highschool in todays world, never mind college. Sure there are tricks to the trade but he's not there to develop guys from the ground up.

It's not that they aren't important at all. But the way people are talking about Thomas and acting like the DL has no hope now is over the top. The biggest factor to how well the DL will do will be the talent that is or is not on it.

Honestly I don't know. And that's kinda my point. Most of us won't know/remember even though that was the Best DL we've seen in a long long time. Positional coaches aren't something to be stressing about.

Haven't they made the playoffs 20 out 21 years or something? Perpetually rebuilding is a bit of a stretch. Losing guys to the NFL does suck, but it's unavoidable. Compensation won't solve the problem you're talking about and will just result in less americans who are on the brink of the NFL signing up here. It's not like the NFL is begging these guys to come to camp. They'll just wait out CFL contracts or move on to the next player rather than pay for a CFL guy.

Without looking it up....who did the Bombers have as DL coach in 2021? The chances of them not using 2 CND receivers is pretty slim I'd say.

Dequoy should absolutely see a nice pay day compared to his counterparts. That's a guy I'd love to see in Blue and Gold.

It doesn't fit the narrative that Mills is the best back in the league. I won't bring up the fact that BO had a better YPC average either, cause he won't care about that stat.

All fair points. My counter is, none have been the highest paid player for their position (outside of Willie, when he was in his prime and would absolutely ruin games). When Bighill was the highest paid LB, everyone knew why. When Lawler was the Highest paid WR, everyone knew why. It'd would be disingenuous for anyone to say Kramdi should be the highest paid SAM.

This is the discussion I've had with friends about him. In the position he's played for most of his career....he should be making noticeable high impact plays pretty often. At least if as a team we're paying him top money for that position. Kramdi doesn't do that. It's not that he isn't good. For me, it's that I want a Monster at SAM, especially if they're being paid like one. And Kramdi just doesn't have that next level factor. He's had 1 interception for his entire career. 1.

Except that he wasn't. Brady finished with over 100 yards more on 82 less touches. This includes rushing and rec. The only metric that has Mills being better is TDs, but that doesn't really incorporate how the Bombers operate inside the 5.

I honestly can't think of one. I can remember guys making impactful plays essentially across the board from Holm to T Jones, hell even Jake blew up a run last year. Can you describe a play that Kramdi made?
