  1. "It could" as a possibility sure. But it just wouldn't ever make sense. And it still wouldn't be right over top like the Ottawa rendering shows. And with how the golf course is currently being developed, it just doesn't seem like that would make any sense...regardless, some residents may care...but the people who could actually make change won't give two damns about it as long as the $$ keeps flowing.
  2. For whatever reason there was a long held belief that 9v9 youth tackle football, wasn't "football" in a lot of minds that controlled amateur ball in the province. And programs suffered under that. Even that change has brought youth football back growing in the province. Along with programs like the Selects, or Recruit ready, Club ball has added a spring league too for U16 and up....there are more and more programs in MB that are just about developing players at every level. Not only skill but just a love for the game. Add in the Bombers 1st class commitment to the youth in tackle and flag and football is seeing a legitimate renaissance here.
  3. We've had plenty of MB's play for the team during MOS era. Part of the problem was that MB amateur football didn't really have the programs other provinces did to help develop that young talent. We do now. In the next decade there will be more and more MB's playing pro football.
  4. Is Vaccaro a Demski kind of guy....after his 1st contract, he's likely to come home? I know he has a lot of ties to this community.
  5. well for one thing. It's quite literally can't exist around PAS. There just isn't the room, unless the university is going to get rid of all of it's parking. And I honestly wouldn't care 1 bit if it some how did happen. AND if anyone decides to live there, thinking there would be no issues around noise/traffic etc etc while that venue is being used....they're idiots and as long as those properties are making $$ no one is actually going to care.
  6. It wasnt like the polo location was isolated. Plenty of outdoor concerts happened there. Was a bonus for me that I lived so close. I could see the stadium from my 2nd storey, walked to games and got to listen to concerts for free
  7. No, why is it bad that we can't?
  8. I'd bring him in only after TC. If they end up having zero confidence in any of the guys they bring to camp, then sure...go and get him. But otherwise, I think it would be a waste
  9. Adams and Evans are the only two that make sense really. Decent enough with some potential to unlock still.
  10. He will most certainly get a few looks from other NFL teams if he's cut. I think as of last week, Bengals had like 3 OL on the roster lol.
  11. MBT really....maybe some other random 3rd stringer from a squad last year that hasn't been picked up
  12. Lol people complained that he didnt/wouldn't restructure...now we're complaining that he did restructure?
  13. I actually heard, he specifically dislikes SpeedFlex27 and that's why he's not in the CFL.
  14. Yeah but what do people think he should be doing with his life? We should fill a 3rd thread with comments about him just to be sure
  15. With Collaros indicating that this year may be his last, maybe knowing he won't be sitting behind a future hall of famer for another 2 years is enough for Elgersma to want to come up?
  16. Yeah im not arguing that Elgersma will end up on a PR/Roster etc etc. Just that the rookie contracts give him (or any other player who seem to believe they'll catch on down south) little to no reason to come to the CFL.
  17. Its not about paying him because he deserves it. Its about being able to draw Canadians that are borderline guys to the CFL. Why would Elgersma sign in the CFL right now? The money just doesnt make sense. If it was double what it is now, im sure he'd have a much more difficult choice. And not just qbs either, there are more and more guys getting attention down south that will never actually play there. But $$ speaks, and right now the CFL rookie contracts are barely whispering.
  18. Uhhh what? First im hearing about this. What happened? And unless it was a very serious fight, that would be some bullshit reason to bench a guy.
  19. 100% but again...he has produced when needed. I think they can and should find a more adequate depth piece....but Corcoran is taking unnecessary shots
  20. It was because of a #1 pick (an OL I think). He ended up getting signed for a ridiculous amount before he did anything. The CFLPA basically said teams are signing these huge contracts for a guy who hasn't done anything only because he's a high canadian pick. While other stars aren't being compensated to the same degree even though they are legit stars for the league/team. And I can see their point. But...it's back fired now. Because whatever the cap is now is so low that for a guy that's on the edge of being on an NFL roster/pr, it just doesn't make financial sense to sign with the CFL until he's sure he's got no chance. And as we are seeing, that can take years.
  21. Listen I'm no fan of Corcoran. But he did everything asked of him last year. He caught basically everything that was catchable. He's not going to be a star WR, but he's more than adequate as a back up.
  22. Careful, don't you know there are people on here who know better than he does what's good for him? Sure they've never met him, but they know exactly what he should be doing with his own life, and if he doesn't it's because he's a pompous ass.
