Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
I'm talking strictly TC. In season reps is hard to count on. If they're always in close games, you're not going to put a back up in. Hindsight is 20/20 but nothing can be done about that now. Bringing in MBT or any other cast off, will only hurt the guys who are going to camp.

That's what I mean though. Bringing him in now will further hurt our young guys. If Collaros goes down for an extended time and Wilson + whoever else they keep look incompetent, then sure go get MBT. I just don't see how it benefits the team to bring him in now

I don't really see the purpose of bringing MBT in right now...If Collaros goes down for a significant amount of time and the guys behind him flounder, then sure get a vet who has shown he can be competent. But right now they'd be better off giving as many reps as possible to the young guys they have.

Wrong! Theyre special. I mean look at their championships. 5! Thats right, you can barely count them on 1 hand. You think that happens easily? You think 5 championships just appear out of nowhere? When we all look at the Riders in 20 years, we will all say wow....5 championships. Thats something else!!

Ceresna isn't the prized signing imo. Broxton is. Ceresna is still effective though. Vaughters wasn't in CGY and certainly wasn't here. I will say the loss of Nield might be helped with Wiebe as he could be a solid piece...jury is still out though. Certainly doesn't have the size. And like Mike said, the loss of depth may not seem like a big thing but come October you'll understand why it is.

Honestly that's not that stupid. He's a defender you need to be aware of on every snap

That's too bad. That guy was fun to watch! Surprised the Als don't want to keep him around.

No it isnt. They haven't lost anyone of importance according to their "forum". Scouting will take care of everything. Hi GR55, the Bombers never stopped being the class of the league. They just decided to share the spotlight for a bit.

Crum is also a mobile QB. Yhe difference in the two is 1 of them has shown the ability to play from the pocket if needed. And 1 hasnt. Mobile qbs can be effective, but eventually they will have to play from the pocket. Thats been true for every qb from Jacobs to Flutie to Collaros to Rourke.

Is FA open now? I thought it ope ed in a week?

Yeah eventually Defenses will scheme to take your mobility out of the game. As a change of pace guy there will be some value forsure. But as a back-up your 1 play away from starting. Starters need to be able to play from the pocket.

I saw Crum run an offense last year. He has very clearly grown in his ability to be a pocket passer. I didn't see that out of Ford. I don't want Ford to have to come in and win games if Collaros goes down. Crum has proven he can do that with very little help. He's also tough as nails Saying that. I don't actually want the Bombers to sign either. I'd rather roll with the guys they've brought in/have already.

I'm not sure how you anyone who watched how both guys played last year and decide Ford is the better option. Crum isn't a starter but he very much showed he has the potential to be more than a sandlot QB. IMO he was the better option for OTT last season even. Guy just has heart that Brown seemed to be missing. did he retire?

no. In fact they're going to only play with 9 guys on the field because they can't afford to pay anyone else.

I like it as long as hes not the big FA signing. Hes a solid piece to a wr group.

I wonder how much of Eberhardt's success was because of Hatcher? I suppose Wilson/Demski is about as good at drawing coverage as you can get too...

To be fair Eberhardt has a higher YPC than Mack in more games played...BUUUT he's never really been "that guy" like Mack has. I would be ok with taking Eberhardt if Mack proves to want too much $$.
