As a casual fan with no deep knowledge of coaching hockey .. My main concern is that he has coached a for a long time with different teams and seems to consistently achieve only slightly above average results.

Why are you not a fan of Paul Maurice? For myself I see a lot of similarities between him and O'Shea and how they handle the media , players , roster management etc....

Just doing the old eye check from going around town I assume the population growth is mostly folks from Philippines, India and Africa. And based on my experiences of going to the games.... they don't seem to like going to the CFL games. Now if we immigrated a bunch of folks from Russia and change the Rum hut to a Vodka hut... I would think they would see a massive increase in ticket sales

The constant losing over the years easily has destroyed the confidence of many fair weather to even good fans. Heck even Mike was complaining early this season about never going to see the Blue play again and I would assume that he would be one of the most die hard fans.

Chevy said that was exactly the reason he was sent to the A. Same reason why the Jets didn't bring scheif up after he was drafted

I think any vet would call someone they know on the team and then after hearing about how much respect the coach has and how professional the environment is they will sign immediately.

I'm a little bit behind on watching movies ... I finally watched X-Men Apocalypse and had to say this review is way to harsh on the movie. While I didn't like it as much as DOFP it still was much better then The Last Stand and most other comic book movies. The only actor/actress who phoned it in was Jennifer Lawrence and the only gripes I had was that the movie ran a bit long and they could of cut out some of the extra characters that cluttered the movie.

Who said that? On TSN and in the local media they said that he was keeping in shape and skating with a local team and was making sure he would be ready to go if a deal was signed. The only rumours they had I thought were of 2 years ago when he didn't want to go do the Gary Roberts workout thing.

Now if they could bump the season up a month and have this fan fare right before the season starts would make more sense to me.

I can see us trading Thorburn for a late draft pick later in the season, Burmi should also get us a 4 th round pick....
