we need to add some hungry new blood to the core thats still practical keeping....guys who havnt been there before and want it bad

Yup need guys who can once in a while step up and make a big play.  Outside of Brady it felt like the team as a whole was just going through the motions.

It would be nice if they could recruit some new guys who can challenge vets for spots.    We need better depth on this team.

Maybe O'Shea can find a Navy Seal / Delta Force / JTF agent who can push Jackson for that desired bench warmer position :)

  2. It was obvious that Montreal was going to stick with "Le Faj"  ,  well obvious for 99% of the people on  here.

I still believe that Edmonton will stick with Ford  and that Hamilton will move forward without BLM but retain Powell/Shiltz.

Dickenson won't admit he made a mistake with Maier and will continue with him.

Ottawa is the only place that Brown can get starter money and a starting job.

Also who knows if Strev comes back next season to the CFL?  I'm surprised he didn't land back with the NY Jets after they dumped Boyle.

  3. I don't think anyone suggests that the Eagles are not good.    They probably are a step down from the elite teams in the league.    It's been 4 - 5 weeks in a row where the D has been really bad and they can't use the injury bug as an excuse.

They looked really good in the 1st quarter against the Niners getting a tonne of pressure on Purdy.  But after that it was what 6 drives in a row that San Fran ran the field and scored a TD.   That's bad.

That's the first I heard that. The Eagles were the first seed in the NFL with the best record. I never heard any "expert" ever say they were the 8th best team in the NFL.

Really?  For the last month the chatter was mostly about how they squeaked by and had lucky bounces and how that D was giving up far to much yards and points.    Their was a reason why the 49ers on the road were the favoured (odds) to win.

It mattered in the east final too and faj was ****. Just because Ritchie Hall fell and hit his head while preparing the game plan doesn't change a damn thing about fajardo as a quarterback.

What does Richie Hall have to do with how we played on O?   Are you suggesting that Montreal were so lights out on D that Zach gets a pass on his performance?

Faj was sub-par in the East Final... but he also won how many games in a row and how did he play in the Grey Cup final?     Once again why would Montreal cut the guy who helped them win the cup and completely picked apart the best team in the league?    They won't.

It's also normal to admit that Fajardo was a superstar on the only game that mattered and that you can't blame Richie Hall or Adam Bighill or Special Marine Jackson for the reason why he played well and why we lost.   Fajardo was really good down the stretch of the season and won the big game and he deserves to start for them next season.    I don't think he's a great franchise QB and wouldn't want him at all but at least I'm not a  "riderfans" kind of fan who looks foolish making excuses rather then praising the guy for what he did and moving on.

San Francisco hammered the Eagles today in Philly. That upset the NFL apple cart. Everyone thought the Eagles were the class of the league. Now, not so much. Watch out for the Niners. This was a statement game today.

The casual fans assumed Philly were the class of the league.  Most experts thought the record flattered the Eagles and that realistically they are around 5 - 8 in the power rankings.

Faj managed exactly 6 points....... on 2 FGs...... during the regular season, against us. Faj is not good..... Faj is not copmetent. That game is a permanent blight on the Bombers organization.

Remember when people crapped on guys like MBT because they piled yards and fancy stats during non important games and garbage time.

Why doesn't that same logic apply to our team?

People are calling for Zach to be cut despite him having fantastic stats during the regular season.  It's more important how you play when it matters.

  8. Assuming we can't have Brown / Strev.

I'd take Shiltz because unlike Evans he at least has some upside and seems to be able to move the ball despite playing on crappy teams.  He's also mobile.

Who knows maybe if Arbuckle played behind a great o-line and had all star receivers maybe he would thrive here and it would be cheap?  Maybe just bring Piggy back and let him work his magic?

  9. A club like Hamilton could offer a low base salary and a whole lot of performance bonuses to boost it up high.

AFAIK several people scoffed at me on here because I said Montreal wouldn't sign Brown and would stick with Fajardo.   Do you guys still feel the same way now?

I'll go with what I've said before,   Ottawa and maaaaaybe Calgary would be the only clubs signing him.    I don't think Dickenson has the balls to admit he was wrong and will trot  Maier out another season.

My question to you is, Do you really think the Blackhawks would get rid of Perry for not being faithful to his wife? C'mon.

Not at all ,   I'd wager over half the players mess around on their wives.    I'd assume they had cut him for something far more serious then sleeping with someones mom.
