  1. I'm late to the party but Stanback was always a stud... kind of like Sutton where the guy just grinds away and just keeps getting those hard yards that wear down defenses.
  2. Demski had a good start... but the fumble... oof
  3. As per listening to Irving... Sounded like Jeffcoat had a monster game, Taylor was lights out and Jesse Briggs/Alexander were the top 3 guys.
  4. I was only able to catch the game on the radio. Doug Brown is significantly less ******-y then he used to be. Irving as always was a charm to listen to. From the sounds of it... Jeffcoat and Taylor were lights out by far the best players tonight. Sounded like Alexander also had a great game. Only guy who had issues was the rookie in the secondary (Miller?)
  5. Not true, the guy still has great awareness in the pocket and slipped several defenders to extend drives to make his throws. He's far from a huck it and pray that the guy comes down with it. Like what Forde said, you wouldn't think the guy is playing hurt with the way he was zipping balls on a rope down the field. BLM on the other hand... yeesh that guy was definitely doing the low % huck it and hope that his guy gets it throws. Maybe he doesn't deal with being pressured as well as we thought since he's had a rock solid o-line for most of his career. I don't even think the BC d-line is anything special so what happens if he faces a d-line like orus who will be ultra aggressive?
  6. KP desperately needs an overhaul on the food court and the restaurants that they have within it. I'm hoping outside of A&W and Subway that all the other places get replaced with something that at least offers decent quality food.
  7. How is that guy not cut yet? Brutal stuff. He is now playing in a system that has a QB who can push the ball 10 - 30 yards out with no issues. Whitehead unfortunately was handcuffed while playing with us. Throwing to that guy while he is in stride in open field is deadly.
  8. BLM was making decent throws... most of his mistakes were mental. He was trying to force big plays and it ended up biting him in the ass. He's either shaken or else letting his ego dictate if she make some of those throws....
  9. Its still a much better deal then what Trouba signed for and IMO he's a much better player then Jacob.
  10. It's helped us from getting completely unnecessary penalties where the guys get overly emotional and react and then send the team back 15 yards.
  11. Not for myself, it's more so embarrassment that a few people on here act identical to the people we mock over on Riderfans. I guess I didn't want to admit that some of our fans are exactly on par with the people out west who wear watermelons as hats.....
  12. No I didn't, I said his arm was crap before and now it is even more crap. He hasn't been able to throw a normal pass without issues since 2017.
  13. Its promising that he can take two steps back and sit in a pocket and rifle it out down the field in such a short amount of time. I remember the discussions pre COVID where people were pining for Strelever to come back ... but ultimately many of the folks on here agreed that McGuire is better suited (long term) to take over the team. The guy has an arm and is your prototypical pocket passer. I'd love for us to go so far ahead in our next game that it allows for him to get on the field and play a quarter to get some more experience.
  14. And this is exactly the type of posts that we mock on Riderfans for saying such insane things.... it's the same as how Rider fans make the same case for Fajardo being the best in the league. No Nichols was not the best QB in the league in 2019, jeeze even on here people were making lists of best QBs and slotted Nichols in the 3rd tier just above the Jennings / Davis level. BLM, Reilly, Evans, Masoli, Fajardo, Adams, Arbuckle were all easily better then him. Insanity to suggest that he was the best QB in the league in 2019 pre injury.
  15. 6 of the 9 games he played he tossed for less then 210 yards. Did you not watch him play in 2017 when he was healthy? 15 of the 17 games he played in he had more then 225 yards passing. Stats are not everything but come on now he was light years better when he was healthy. 2019 he played safe football which was perfect for our team because of how great everyone else... but in 2019 he wasn't elite. He was a game manager which was good for us but don't pretend that if he was the starting qb for Ottawa in 2019 that he would be able to put a team on his back and win games.
  16. You are on par if not worse then Riderfans who use their tinted glasses and revisionist history to try to back up your claims. Nichols in 2021 is the exact same guy as he was in 2018-2019 but now without an all star o-line and RB to help him out and with a further damaged throwing arm. Hey I loved Khari at one point to but unlike you I can admit and come to reality that in his last days with the Blue he was hot garbage because of the accumulation of injuries on him. It doesn't mean that Khari was a garbage player and that he sucks... it just means that at a certain point he went from awesome to no longer serviceable in a short period of time.
  17. I'm excited to see new QB's in the league, it makes the games much more exciting to see the ups and downs.
  18. That interception was on the receiver, it's unfortunate but sometimes the bounces go the wrong way. I wouldn't classify it as a panic move or terrible decision unlike the Masoli interceptions where he faced our awesome pressure and just blindly tossed the ball into our players hands. Wilder - Fair game on picking on Wilder... I wouldn't say he's anywhere near Carter level of deserving the hate. But Wilder definitely seems like a me first kind of person.... personally I think everyone on here will pick on Banks for this season and I fully support them.
  19. Lol watch how he played when he first came to the Bombers and then rewatch the games in 2018-2019. Night and day difference in where prior to his injuries he played with zero fear and physically was able to throw the ball with zip 5 - 20 yards down field to receivers in stride. I made a fantastic post a few years back showing how pre injuries he was throwing for 250+ yards almost in every game up until he was hurt and then afterwards it dropped sharply. He had zero zip on his throws and his mobility/escapability was even further reduced. He was a gunslinger when he joined us and then was a completely different person afterwards. Do you not remember when Strelever took over the first time in 2018 and how receivers suddenly were seeing the ball and the offense was far more vertical... same with when Zach took over last season. Nichols physically was done after his 2018 injury and now 2021 Nichols is even further deteriorated to a point that it's unsafe for him to go out anymore. Rewatch the 2019 season and count how many times he skipped balls in the dirt despite having a tonne of protection and open space.... these throws are the ones that other QB's routinely could make.
  20. I'm absolutely excited about Buck Pierce and either Zack or McGuire throwing the ball for us. It can only go up from here and it will be nice to take deep shots and stretch the defense.
  21. He definitely seemed to carry over the same offense to Ottawa... several very familiar running plays that he used against the Elks. He likes the trick plays and the delayed draws. However he did call plays for the wideouts (several screen passes) but the issue is that without a QB who can rifle it... the DB's had all the time in the world to catch up to the guy catching the screen and it made it near impossible for the receiver to get any YAC. It worked with Durant because he did have a cannon arm and was able to also push the ball deep.
  22. They played it out as if he's mentally all over the place when he's on the field as well. Made it seem like he's up and down emotionally as a player. I will say it's refreshing that TSN did point out that MBT did accumulate a lot of yards during garbage time last season which was true.
  23. Well you don't need to get into a debate because my point is you hire the best person possible and your point has no legs. Create a thread and we can go into a great discussion about how you will convince me that the CFL teams for diversity should field female players or even female coaches. See how silly that sounds? The old he's ignorant is such a cop out comment. Milt I assume is because of name recognition and because he is a handsome guy and people genuinely like him. Barker... I assume is because Benevides is busy? I'm assuming that their isn't to many CFL coaches that still keep tabs on the game and who are available...
  24. I'm confused? Is your whole family currently infected with COVID?
  25. I have no hate for the guy but it disturbs me that for years Statler and Waldorf on here have been bashing LaPolice and when I have proven time over time again that the issue was Nichols it's very sweet to see those two stubborn old men finally acknowledge that they have been wrong this whole time.
