I think a lot of it has to do with 2 things. 1- sign of the times. SA/SH is being taken Uber seriously which is appropriate IMO by today's business world(well the good ones anyway) and 2-violence, while being limited, is still very much a part of today's game. Harrassment is not at all part of the sport especially with staff that doesn't play.

    It's embarrassing at this point.

I don't know of anyone who thinks that a player jumping into the stands and punching a fan in the face is "part of the game".     Yet somehow that is a lesser punishment?

Can we all just agree that Kelly is a wiener and the league is better off without him? TSN (and the league to some degree) both look like idiots for forcing him on us as the new face of the league, when everybody could tell something like this was the inevitable conclusion.

The answer is obvious on who they should market for the face of the league....

The longest suspension they ever gave to my knowledge is 4 games. And those are for violent offences which we can all see and replay in slow mo. Some of them would put you in jail for 10 years.

I do find it funny that the league treats someone being a pervert/ass is a much more heinous crime compared to Garrett Marino intentionally trying to cause a serious injury.   9 games for being a perv off the field... 2 games for possibly ending someones career on the field for committing a serious assault.    The leagues suspends a player for only 6 games for punching a fan....

I hate to agree with Bluto but Kelly should be getting a 3 game suspension,   have to enter in a program and complete it,  and any future incidents off the field at that point no tolerance.        If Kelly gets 9 games then moving forward any crazy **** like Marino or Edwards HAS to be a full season suspension.   Any thing like Kenny Lawler getting a DUI should also be 9 games minimum.

  4. We checked out Firehouse Subs off of Regent this afternoon,  we stopped by at noon and the line up was 25 long so we came back an hour later.  Much more quiet at that point with only 3 customers in front of us,  it ended up taking  25 minutes to get our subs.   I assume things will speed up once staff is more experienced.   The subs just like the other location are massive in size and really tasty.  I think most people would be completely stuffed with the smaller size sub ,  it's really dense and full of meat.

I also noticed two doors down next to Bar Burrito that a place called "Boustan" is coming soon.   Yet ANOTHER shawarma place opening up... it's funny that for years we had none and within the last 3 or so years 5 places have opened up.     When I saw the sign I thought it was a mini Boston Pizza... it had the same colors,  almost the same name,  a logo with what looked like was a pizza slice,  and a similar font.     While it's nice getting new things... I think this area is covered with enough middle eastern food restaurants.   The area could really use a Jimmy The Greek or Thai Express.

  5. Drummond only had 3 - 1000 yard seasons... never lead the league in running only an all star 3 times.    First 3 seasons won the Grey cup as a back up in Baltimore/two seasons with Flutie and the Argos.   Went to BC and platooned with Millington where he was usually the 2nd choice.    Solid B+ level player but never elite.    A product of playing on some amazing teams during an era when people were racking up insane yards.

I respectfully disagree with you on Drummond. Four Grey Cup victories. The 2000 GC MOP. What jumps out to me are his TD numbers with 78. That means Drummond was on the field all the time. He wasn't a situational player. He was an every down back. There aren't many players in the history of the CFL who scored that many touchdowns.  There are more like Pinball, Reed & others but that is a ton of TDs Drummond scored. You may not agree which is fine. You're entitled to your opinion. To me, he is a Hall of Famer.

Four grey cup victories means nothing to me... Stegall has zero ...  it's meaningless.

Drummond is a fringe HOFer...  for a few seasons he was oustanding... the other seasons he was platooning and not "The Guy".    He probably should go in... but only if that year has weak candidates who are also on the fringe.

It's the effort and performance of underdog players like Bailey and Woli that help put and keep a team on top of the standings, the more quality players of this caliber a team has the better the results.  Consider it the equivalent of having a solid 3rd line in hockey.

Dominant players do not play on the 3rd line in hockey.

Role players/ depth players are good to have but cannot get paid the same as 1st liners.  Role players and depth players are also significantly easier to find then all-stars.

Red Lobster has Hush Puppies as a side menu item for a limited time.....I tried them and they were kind of unremarkable I mean I'm glad I tried them but I don't think I would order something like that again

Get them soon,  Red Lobster may be filing for bankruptcy any day now from losing money on the endless shrimp promotion.

Pretty upsetting when dominant performers like Grant, Bailey and Jeffcoat are given up on mainly because there's no money leftover to pay them close to what they deserve.

Bailey was not a dominant player,  he was a solid and reliable guy but never a guy that I'd think would be a hall of famer.

Jeffcoat is several years past his prime and on a downturn with his injuries. Far from dominant on a consistent basis.

Grant is a dominant returner and he will be missed.

I know my dad is missing a place to get a good rouladen.

St Pierre used to have a great home made place called Oma's that sadly also closed down.

I've had a co worker who has gone to Winkler and tried out Ralph's German Restaurant and said that it was authentic and really good.   They also appear to have Rouladen.

Honest? What do we really know about Mufasa? Besides being the King of Pride Rock and father to Simba? And brother to Scar

I was more so thinking that the trailer had the same music,  the same shots of a young lion standing on the rock looking over the land,   rafiki,  same shot of baby lion running between the legs of a stampede of animals,  what I assume is Timon and Pumba....  it looks very samesies as the Lion King.

I'll be curious if it will be another movie that people will just wait for it is free on Disney Plus and if they'll go see Sonic 3 instead?

No, none of those. Just the CFL's way of thinking. Of just being the same league & doing the same thing. I'm no marketing expert, but there has to be a way to grow the league economically.

It's tough,   Football is more of an "old man" sport so with each year the audience of people who love the CFL purely for the game shrinks.   I think what Wade is doing is the absolute best tactic of trying to bring in young people and families for the gameday experience.  Over time maybe they can build some fans of the sport.

When it comes to the tv/streaming audience it's really a tough challenge with the massive amounts of different entertainment options for the average person to select from.  The XFL showed that gimmicks is not enough to build a large audience.  You said that all the other leagues have grown exponentially ,  which isn't true as I showed in my list above.   The NBA/NFL/MLB/UFC have global appeal and billions of dollars backing them so they can tackle the untapped markets and make even more money.  How can the CFL compete with the NFL in doing the same?  Not going to happen and they won't be able to tap into the US market either.

Long story ... it is what it is.

I don't know. The characters look blah. Traditional animation is so much more vibrant and expressive. Disney needs to go back to their roots. Or at least make it more cartoony if they are set on CGI.

I honestly thought it was a trailer for the 2019 Lion King movie,  did they really need a Mufasa movie?

I'll be curious to see if it does as well as the 2019 which made a billion plus dollars.   The last many live action remakes have lost money for Disney and they've basically written off Snow White and it's 250 million dollar budget.  They need this one to succeed.

Shocked Chi-Chi's not make the list.

It was a chain restaurant that was across North America so not really special to only Winnipeg.

I was surprised that Gasthaus Gutenburger wasn't on the list.  That place is sorely missed and Winnipeg definitely could use a real german restaurant.

I think in 10 to 15 years the CFL will be no more. There appears to be no growth possibilities. Especially with the Commissioner we have now. When it's 2024 & he biggest growth was the merger of the WIFU & IRFU to form the 9 team CFL in 1958 then things don't look great. Every other pro league have grown exponentially since. We may be the last generation of fans who care.

XFL....  XFL 2.0.... Arena Football League.....  USFL.....

Or are we comparing the little old CFL with billion dollar leagues like MLB, NFL, NBA?
