  1. Deon Beasley. He didn't have an illustrious career but he put an end to chicken **** Printers
  2. Dr Jensen seems very concerned that statistics are being padded to make the death toll appear higher than it really is. He cites to Fox News that if a patient is killed by a bus but also tests positive for COVID the cause of death is listed as COVID. He says this doesn't make sense and I agree, it doesn't. Likewise for violent crimes and gators (lookin at you, Florida). But how much of the death toll could possibly be accounted for by completely unrelated incidents? It can't be that many. If a doctor cannot make a definite diagnosis of COVID (shortages of test kits being a good reason why, a whole other issue) but "the circumstances are compelling with a reasonable degree of certainty"... then it seems reasonable to me that the death be included in the COVID statistics. Making a best effort to report the spread and impact of this disease isn't fear mongering or being alarmist, it's simply trying to show the reality of this situation. Suggesting doctors and nurses are artificially inflating these numbers for personal and financial gain is especially low on his part. Herd immunity comes at a price. Sounds like Dr Jensen is okay with approx 10% of the pop. getting seriously ill (he chuckles about 90% won't suffer more than minor symptoms) and who knows how many of them will survive (should their local health system be able to bear the strain). I'm firmly in the 'let's minimize the death toll, we can sacrifice for one another in the short term and get through this in the long run' camp. Thanks to everyone who is washing their hands and sheltering in place as much as possible. Hang in there everyone!
  3. Family photos of loved ones is media hype. We should be talking about the flu and installing roll cages on every vehicle. Well off to the lake.
  4. I had heard in New York there was a spike in 'deaths at home'; normally 25 or so people died each day but recently this number has spiked ; Monday saw 280 deaths at home, none of which had been previously confirmed cases of the novel COVID virus. These deaths and others like them were not being included in the COVID death tally, and if included the tally would rise significantly https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/04/08/829506542/after-deaths-at-home-in-nyc-officials-plan-to-count-many-as-covid-19 I know, who can we trust? NPR and the AP or anti-vaxxer and 'the Feds have no business in healthcare' Ron Paul
  5. Dead people don't buy products or pay taxes. The economy will recover, grandma might not.
  6. I remember the Montreal Expos comic book crossover with Spider Man better than I remember the Montreal Expos
  7. I remember it being crazy loud but I also remember moving on with the game in short order. No mid game ceremonies or interviews, just back to work. Years later when I think it was Geroy Simon breaking the receiving yards record they halted the game to chat him up... seemed silly to interrupt the game like that. My chunk of Milt Stegall TD turf is within arms reach right this moment.
  8. I'm guessing that players won't get paid anything beyond scheduled bonuses, and contracts end normally as scheduled. I'm thinking it will be up to teams to re-negotiate with guys on one year deals and so on. It will be interesting to see how things go down... I'm just hoping for a season, delayed if it has to be.
  9. ^^This is why we hunker down at every opportunity and slow the spread. Be safe everyone. Have you re-watched the 2019 Grey Cup yet today?
  10. The 2011 East Final vs Hamilton had so much. Vega coming in at tight end and scoring a goal line TD... Suber recovering the ball infront if a dumbfounded Chris Williams (the hottest **** in town at that point in time)... Garrett scoring a TD on what was meant to be the last play ever in the old barn... booing Glenn between flask swigs... saving the lives of underdressed Winnipeggers by sharing the wool blanket... good times.
  11. Most of them are. Evidently not all of them cough J5V cough. For your health buddy please lay low and eat canned soup. The devil can wait.
  12. 1000 isn't a lot of people until you ask the families of those 1000 people. Get on board the winning team and let's beat this thing people.
  13. I can only hope we are looking back in this saying 'man we went overboard' because that will mean we did an effective job of flattening the curve and preventing what we are seeing in Italy (bodies overflowing in crematoriums). I'd rather over react than under react. (That doesn't include hoarding)
  14. Ginsburg is 87 and Breyer is 81. Trump controls senate. There is a terrifying chance that he could be appointing another 2 supreme court justices and stack SCOTUS 7-2 with republican appointees that could sit for another 20-30 years. Dems need a big win.
  15. Maybe they'll look back on their approach to healthcare and consider change for the better. They have the resources to be a 'healthcare superpower' the same way they are a military superpower. Just have to sort out those priorities and vote accordingly
  16. I can only hope RATM and RTJ can return together and we won't get some other opening act. I'm equally excited for both.
  17. Of course Rage and Tool come to town and the plague strikes.
  18. The DEL (German Ice Hockey League) is suspending all operations immediately due to COVID-19 concerns. https://www.del.org/news/deutsche-eishockey-liga-beendet-saison-vorzeitig/11283
  19. Hahaha. The very worst part was when they asked him to do play by play. Truly the 'Cats' of interviews.
  20. Oh okay. I get it now, sorry @Tracker....
  21. Title of this thread
  22. What did I miss? Since when is Walker's heart 'not in the game'? And how is Walters supposed to be sure Walker is a 'no-show', has Walker signalled some intent to sign somewhere? What the heck are you talking about?
  23. I believe players entering the league as FA go through waivers with lowest seeded teams bidding first. Trestman had to trade for SJ Green when someone else poached him on arrival
  24. That oughta help put a few more butts in seats.
