  1. I thought Hecht was more than adequate when he filled in last season. Guy made a couple big plays in limited playing time and I don't remember him hopping over the pile after the play Hurl-style... we could do worse.
  2. Former Bomber and first overall Faith Ekakitie cut in MTL, along with vet DB baller Joe Burnett
  3. Bothered all the way to the bank perhaps. 3 years guaranteed money and all the built in excuses for failure that he could ask for.
  4. Lends weight to the 'scrap the divisions' argument that pops up every offseason.
  5. I chalk it up to this year's GC being the 'who-gives-a-damn' bowl. Oh look CGY is back in the big dance, again, against a team only 2 years removed from a championship themselves... and making their 3rd appearance in 4 years. Swap out either of these teams with literally anyone but T.O. and viewership probably would have been higher. Guess we'll never know. I didn't watch it live, either (because they can't both lose and I didn't care who won)
  6. Gaitor through 2020 is awesome. I can't imagine he's breaking the bank, either. I was stoked when we signed him, one of Rigmaiden's earlier BC carryovers that has really paid off. BC must be kicking themselves over the talent they've let slip away in the past couple seasons. Stability, baby. We got it.
  7. The mark of a professional. There's nothing to do be done but put one foot infront of the other and carry on with the task at hand.
  8. From Kelly Moore on twitter (copied/pasted to spare you guys on mobile): -DE Jackson Jeffcoat told reporters during a media conference call that being wanted by @Wpg_BlueBombers was a factor in his signing a two year extension and foregoing CFL free agency. -Jeffcoat says he "thought" he had something going with Cincinnati- only to receive a call personally from the Bengals because they did not have contact info for his agent- who has since been fired. -By the time he hired a new representative, he was more or less going to be training camp fodder. So he got in touch with Mike O'Shea, and then Kyle Walters. Numbers started getting tossed around about a month ago, -And then negotiations took on a more serious tone over the last couple of weeks, leading to this morning's announcement. Jeffcoat says the Bombers are close, but he's not interested in being close. -And he sees Wpg as his best chance to win a championship for the first time since at least middle school. Sounds like we are lucky he slipped through the cracks. Glad he's back in the fold.
  9. Walters tried to upgrade our receivers by adding Bowman last year. Who knew the tires had fallen off him that badly. Considering the turmoil going on all over the West and the number of 1-year contracts being signed from here on out you'd think Winnipeg is considered the best bet for a sure playoff cheque or two this season.
  10. https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/01/17/bombers-sign-outstanding-lineman-stanley-bryant-one-year-contract-extension/ Bryant has been extended one year.
  11. Congrats Brodie and KBF! You're looking fresh faced buddy!
  12. What did iso used to say? Million dollar athlete, 10 cent brain?
  13. Like they politicize the NFL at anthem time? I love this campaign and know others who do as well. Nice contrast to the hate and vitriol and phoney patriotism we see down South.
  14. It would be funny to see Americans scrambling to get their Mexican citizenship... in order to boost their chances of getting a job... in Canada
  15. Equally sad as it is unsurprising. Not like he can't be re-signed if he somehow comes back strong. Certainly one of our more exciting players in the past few years.
  16. Nope, probably the contract extension he was given in 2011 that paid him through 2014 was why he worked for TSN. Kept collecting his 220k+ annually while double dipping with TSN as analyst until we re-hired him in the winter of 2015. It's the smart move, LaPo loves the smart move.
  17. I dunno, if we can't score TDs we're going to need those 57 yard field goals and punts inside the 10 yard line. I don't know how much he gets paid but he's worthy every penny.
  18. Bet I know who our starter is next season. That settles that, I think.
